  1. It is getting very confusing so let me attempt to clarify a few things. It is prefectly legal to buy all the components to "build" an AR. The lower receiver must be transferred through an FFL as it is the "gun" and has a serial number. If one wanted to build an AR from the ground up, order on-line and have transferred to your FFL of choice a lower receiver. Then order or otherwise purchase everthing else you want to complete the rifle. THAT IS NOT MANUFACTURING. Put the parts together and you have rifle. No special engraving or forms are needed. You can "put together" something of equal quality in your garage for several hundred dollars or less, legally using the exact same components. Except that "ferritic nitrocarburized" BS gas tube, heck, you could probably even find one of those if you really wanted. And as there are exceptions to the rule, as I'm sure will be pointed out, very, very few people build (MANUFACTURE) guns from a solid block of aluminum, steel or what have you. Then ATF rules might start applying. If one is doing such I imagine they already know the rules, or damn well better.
  2. Count me in, unless it's pouring rain or we have a blizzard.
  3. Hand him over and Justice will be served. Doesn't do too much for their hatred for us, but that will never be fixed. Then GTFO of Afghanistan. It's long overdue.
  4. You might want to call the ATF or check their website. They would know.
  5. Now, are those the M16 mags the vendor said were "better" than regular AR mags? I was moving down the aisle so I missed everything past that.
  6. OS, your post is an excellent example that most can relate to.
  7. "As seen on TV" So what makes this a $1,200 rifle? http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_462103_-1?color=Black&N=329211139+4294953560
  8. I don't recall seeing any beef jerky there yesterday. Did I miss something?
  9. It will probably look like a Taurus.
  10. WTF are you talking about?
  11. Screw the buffer tube in as far is it will go with the detent retaining it freely then tighten the castle nut.
  12. That's just awesome. I'm sure it will work out just like the other loads you come up with.
  13. Prisons would point the barb wire inside the perimeter, everwhere else facing out.
  14. This makes it official. There really is nothing else you can do to a 1911. That is pretty cool. Don't know if I could wrap my hands around that massive grip though, it's huge!
  15. Magpul makes rail sections of various lengths that bolt on through the slots.....http://cdn.magpul.co...tion%20Tech.pdf
  16. No.
  17. I've run the numbers myself before.
  18. And that is the problem. The Repulicans who claim to represense "conservative" ideals have had 4 years to figure all this out. The past 6 months have been a disaster for that party and anyone who wants to see O out of office. Every day it's been something different from a wide array of mediocre at best candidates. Now there's talk of that twit Palin trying to get back in the race. The Dems are licking their chops because Obama will get another term. If and when the Republican party can ever pull themselves together and 1) Made good on their promises, 2) Learn a little something about the American people (half this country is Democratic) and how to sway them, and 3) Most importantly, stop harping on social issues...they will regain power.
  19. The new GFS (Gordon Food Services) over by Academy has some mighty big containers of spices and quite a variety. Don't recall the weight but they are the plastic containers at least the size of the biggest ones Kroger has or like what you could get at Sam's.
  20. You are absolutely correct.
  21. Where are the show girls?
  22. There was a recent discussion on this... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/44677-source-for-762x39-tracers/
  23. Navel Jelly will remove anything and everything down to the bare metal, including parkerizing. My understanding is electrolysis will not remove the bluing. I've never used the method to remove rust from an entire gun but did rig up a bore cleaning setup using the same methods to clean a Mosin barrel. The filth that came out of there was amazing.
