  1. Since East Tennesse was full of union sympathizers you'd do well to dress up like a yankee around here. Ever read "Confederates in the Attic"? It's a great account of the extent some reenactors go to.
  2. You might get one or two peppers off a plant grown in a can, if even that. Pepper plants get huge and have massive root systems.
  3. Good to hear! Because Ruger is way over extended these days.
  4. The M1 was designed to use M2 ammunition. It runs at a lower pressure than commercial 30-06. Adjustable gas plugs are widely available to facilitate use of commercial ammo. The rifle can handle anything but do you want to risk damaging the operating rod? They are not inexpensive.
  5. You continue to promote accepting a beat down. Do you not believe having the back of one's head slammed on the ground is a life-threatenting or altering situation? How does one overcome survival instincts in light of the law?
  6. Maybe not down there but somewhere. As much as this has been hyped and twisted there will be riots somewhere if a trial results in acquittal or not guilty. Then we can watch all the oppressed loot grocery and appliance stores.
  7. Well somebody needs to go buy it before mine arrives next week so I don't feel like such an ass for ordering one online.
  8. I have no experience with one but I do believe that SCCY, it was SKYY before changing names, does not have a very good reputation. Serious quality control issues, parts breakage, etc.
  9. Killing a snake in TN is generally illegal. Just an FYI for those that don't know...nothing to do with OP's trap.
  10. Yes. the mag wobble is normal for WASR's. Stamped reciever AK's usually have big stamped dimples on the sides to hold the mag steady. That particular variety does not. Add to that most WASR's had the mag wells reamed out by importers (CAI) to accept hi-cap mags. If the rifle functions as is then its just an annoyance. Some have cured the problem with JB weld. Google it. Like Mike said.
  11. Is nothing sacred?
  12. This just keeps getting better and better. Everyone please continue.
  13. I approve this recommendation.
  14. No, it is not. That started with Mark III's.
  15. I mostly agree with you Dolomite but must wonder how many idjits out there are beginning to believe that shooting something will make it explode.
  16. I'm pretty sure Jerry Lawler did in fact put a hurt on and mess up Andy Kaufman.
  17. The best one yet is the outtakes episode that was on last week. No drama, just all they guys being themselves, talking about all the behind the scenes stuff. Will actually seems to be a pretty cool guy based on that. Other than that, when they're on some mission to F*** up a perfectly good gun, you can have it.
  18. That's a real game changer.
  19. You know, pizza boxes make handy target holders.
  20. Ruger Mark whatever or the Browning if you want a semi.
  21. Garufa

    Out of stock

    It's an election year.
  22. Joe Bob has them for $322.95 shipped after TGO discount.
  23. Actually there is a takedown screw on the forward portion and one on the back. That barrel band still doesn't do anything, other than to have a handly place to put a sling mount.
  24. Boiled Linseed Oil. It is the basis for most surplus stock maintenance. Just Google "boiled linseed oil rifle stock" there is tons of info out there, too much actually. Ther is also some great stock care and finishing tips on the surplus rifle forum and CMP forum. There is also tung oil, pure, not the stuff Formby's makes. The only place you can get that is Woodcraft or other internet sources. Some use what's called 1/3 mix with is a combination of BLO, turpentine and beeswax. I would cut some with turpentine, maybe a 50/50 mix, and apply a coat or two. You can apply with some 0000 steel wool to help even things out a little. From there you can build up to full strength BLO until the wood will not soak any more up.
