  1. You can get a mount that replaces the rear sight with no permanent modification to the rifle. Put a long relief scope on it and you're in business.
  2. I don't want to do that. Got aggravated just watching it. Wonder if I could tear up a forklift like that Nintendo I used to have.
  3. No politician supports gun rights in the way many would like. It is not in their best interests.
  4. Post some good pics. We want to see it.
  5. The Henry is a great rifle that is probably the best incarnation of the AR-7 that has been in constant production by some manufacturer or another since 1959. It was designed by Eugene Stoner himself if that matters to you. When I got the 10/22 takedown a couple of weeks ago I sold off the Henry and already miss it. Fortunately, a friend now has it so I still get to shoot it. It is a handy, accurate little rifle. The Ruger is more of a traditional rifle, it just comes apart. Broken down it does take up more space than the Henry but you also gain increase magazine capacity, especially with the new BX-25 mags Ruger has finally started producing.
  6. Enfields are excellent rifles. Accurate, recoil is very pleasant and the the bolt can be operated very quickly. Google "enfield mad minute" There is essentially no more surplus ammo left so you're looking at close to at $.80-$1 per round if not more for commercial. Aim has Privi at $13.95/20 and I doubt you'll find a cheaper price. If you do find surplus is usually Pakistani made and not very well thought of....it's kinda like shooting a flintlock....click....bang.
  7. I've never seen anything blamed on Dubya around here.
  8. I think we are past that.
  9. So who's gonna be the first to blame it on Obama?
  10. Romney doesn't give a #### about the 2nd. What politician does?

    Morals

Morals have nothing to do with religion. Either you know the difference between right and wrong or you don't. It's really that simple...to me. Of course, we'll have to make exceptions for everyone's philosophical beliefs as that is all the rage in this country.
  12. I'm thinking Dolomite's services are needed here....
  13. OK, you win! It appears you left some drool on it. Might want to clean that up.
  14. If the numbers match, it's not all beat up or sporterized, buy it.
  15. I've heard the "mildly corrosive" story before. It's either corrosive or not. LOL
  16. All fine suggestions so far. Also consider a Yugo M48 if want want a Mauser style rifle. Those can be found under $300 and most are in like new condition. Surplus 8mm is still available if you look hard enough.
  17. I have no idea if it's corrosive or not. When that stuff came out none of the dumb-ass peddlers of it would say yes or no to corrosive. They would only say it "might" be. It doesn't take all that much to test it. After my last purchase of commercial "non corrosive" 7.62 Russian ammo I consider it all corrosive and clean accordingly.
  18. I was tempted by the Bulgarian when it hit the market a coupla months ago but the price was a little high for corrosive ammo.
  19. SOG has the Yugo but it's nearly $300 for a case of 1260 now. Prices have been creeping up all year, especially on 7.62x39. Expect it to get worse.
  20. This is how ridiculous its become... http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/upshot/george-zimmerman-buys-79-84-worth-items-jail-214706403.html
  21. It reminds me of a lizard.
  22. I had the honor and privilege of meeting WKRP's own Les Nessman (Richard Sanders) at a Memphis Riverkings hockey game back in the 90's. He graciously signed a letter sized, xeroxed photo of himself for me....well kinda me, I told him my name was Ian.
  23. Well, however it started it needs to stop. It's been going on since the 90's. How many other clothing fads have lasted that long?
  24. Have you seen them polished to bare steel or are you comparing it to chromed? Big difference.
