How abouot we just leave religion out of it, let the homosexuals have legal unions with all the benefits of traditional "married" people, and just be done with it? The biggest issue seem to be with the definition of "married" and the term itself. I got married in a church but you know what? I could not have done so without a government issued permit. Ergo, marriage is a government sanctioned and regulated matter in this society. The religious part is just a formality. Let the gays have "civil unions", quit worrying about what is going on in other people's lives, bedrooms and minds. There really are more important issues in this country right now than inane social distractions.

Glock has been continually sued since they first sold a gun in this country. It's very well documented. They settle every time with a strict non-disclosure agreement in these civil suits.

My take is "pensions" have been the norm since day one in this country. Revolutionary War pensions were first approved in 1776. The practice is as old as the Nation itself.

Personally, I would stay away from Universals or any other make that was not USGI. Some of them do have issues. You should have no problem finding a very nice specimen in your price range. It's kind of hard to give a comprehensive breakdown on what to look for because there are a lot of variations. There were something like 12 or 13 manufacturers during WWII (all production ceased at the end of the war) and several variations on parts. I would look for one that is USGI with a decent looking barrel crown and that is not shot out. Most still have the orginal barrels. Check out the CMP forums and/or surplusrifle.com. There is tons on information on both sites.

I don't see how you could possibly reholster without removing the entire "gun carrying thing" (this is not a holster) from your waistband. Also, if you go stick your pistol on that rod I could see it getting out of battery pretty easily if you're not looking directly at it and there are no other obstacles like clothes or "sides".

They do make it easy to vote around here. Never a challenger for hardly anything. Don't even need to bother pushing the button.

Common courtesy is a thing of the past. Regardless of what DaddyO thinks at one time people did have some control over what other people do. Learned behavior is just that, learned. Rudeness and ignorance are apparently ingrained in today's society.

For some reason I think the contracts for 1911's stopped at the end of WWII so those pistols were already well over 30 years old and subject to military treatment that entire time. Might be wrong.....
