    Cornbread

No sugar! I ain’t no yankee. I want yellow corn. It does appear that there is sugar in the MW sweet. I shall bake it and let the wife eat it.

Cotton Country sucks. It’s white corn. They still make my old favorite Mexican style that I had to go to Walmart to find. There they have also have MW’s “Sweet Yellow”. Haven’t tried that yet. Tonight is was just Jiffy.

Thanks @gregintenn. I hope those other guys don’t reload ammo.

I’ve been on a cornbread kick lately. Ready to move on from mixes to something truly homemade. How do y’all or your moms and them make it?
  5. Best not to question why a woman does something. Busted or not, plenty of guys wrap stuff around forearms that might not be needed.
  6. Waverly is in the boonies/bfe between Memphis and Nashville. Close to Loretta Lynn’s place. Nice area.
  7. I just picked up some Olde Virden’s Tennessee Jerk a couple of weeks ago. Powerful stuff, probably best used for cooking! It’s a Knoxville outfit that uses a lot of locally grown peppers. Got hooked on their Red Hot blend a couple of years ago…that’s great on pizza & spaghetti. https://oldevirdens.com/
  8. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/credit-card-companies-pause-implementation-of-new-gun-purchase-tracking-code/amp/ According to that it’s “paused”. If you are that concerned pay cash.
  9. You might need to turn the camera around and point it at the ones in suits behind the microphones. They certainly don’t listen to the people on a whole lot of other issues.
  10. It was the 90’s. I was young and daring. Fresh habaneros were not common and I didn’t know about removing seeds and ribs, so I just used dried ones…whole, lol. I think this recipe was designed by a sadist or it was some kind of misprint. Now that a few years of wisdom have passed, gonna see how this can be tweaked to something edible. I’m a huge fan of hot & spicy but habaneros just don’t do it for me. Not a fan of the flavor. Maybe half the peppers, fresh and properly prepared, and not those nasty orange ones. Gotta find some red ones that have a fruitiness to them.
  11. This “jerk” chicken will blow you away, especially if you use it like I did a couple of times years ago. It doesn’t have allspice like most jerk does, so maybe semi-jerk. I also used the whole concoction on 1 lb of chicken breasts, not 3 whole chickens, lol.
  12. I never did trust any of them. They are blowhards who love to hear themselves speak and carry on about the same things over and over and over again.to the point that they have no legitimacy.
  13. @Worriedman We appreciate your work but it would be most helpful if you provided official links to what is going on. https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HJR0038
  14. Noting has changed with this bill. I guess everyone is cool with LEO’s carrying under the influence. Why don’t we get that privilege?
  15. Truing spoked wheels is a tedious art that requires skill and patience…and a spoke wrench.
  16. You’re not the only one. Having a permit is an exception to the “intent to go armed” language in TN law. Now that permitless is carry allowed it complicates the intent to go armed situation and language. The concept of intent to go armed is not hard to understand at all. What @Worriedmanposted is a good explanation. TN gun laws are in a constant state of flux and change yearly.
  17. Cash price? Not interested myself but I have it’s twin without a scope. I bet if you shot it you wouldn’t want to let it go…they’re that good.
  18. I think some people are not aware that many Savage stocks are plastic. Under certain conditions plastic gets sticky beyond belief. Do wood stocks do that? How does one fix sticky plastic?
  19. What are you talking about and how is it a 2A legislation and politics related issue?
  20. Reloaded by who?
  21. I would agree but the OP and trend is to think “what would you carry”. As such, I’ll throw out the humble Bersa Thunder 22. Great pistol. It’s fun, accurate, and a joy to handle. If one were so inclined to carry a .22 then you could dump 400 grains of lead on target with a quickness.
  22. As of today, 10:15 AM here are the bills and a snippet of the language in question: House Bill: https://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/113/Bill/HB0977.pdf Senate Bill: https://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/113/Bill/SB0827.pdf From Both: SECTION 5. Tennessee Code Annotated Section 39-17-1350, is amended by deleting subsection (c) in its entirety, and is further amended in subsections (a) and (g), by deleting "subsection (c), federal law," and substituting instead "federal law". Current Law (39-17-1350 (c)): 39-17-1350. Law enforcement officers permitted to carry firearms — Exceptions — Restrictions — Identification card for corrections officers. (c) The authority conferred by this section shall not extend to a law enforcement officer: (1) Who is not engaged in the actual discharge of official duties as a law enforcement officer and carries a firearm onto school grounds or inside a school building during regular school hours unless the officer immediately informs the principal that the officer will be present on school grounds or inside the school building and in possession of a firearm. If the principal is unavailable, the notice may be given to an appropriate administrative staff person in the principal's office; (2) Who is consuming beer or an alcoholic beverage or who is under the influence of beer, an alcoholic beverage, or a controlled substance or controlled substance analogue; or (3) Who is not engaged in the actual discharge of official duties as a law enforcement officer while attending a judicial proceeding. As I read the bills and as per the current description of both bills, this does in fact "allow law enforcement officers to carry a firearm when under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances" Am I and the media missing something here? Is the repeal of the above section being removed?
  23. Call Savage and ask what they recommend. Maybe they’ll send you a new one.
  24. What exactly is this? "Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, allows law enforcement officers to carry a firearm when under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances and certain other circumstances; deletes the prohibition on carrying firearms and other weapons on higher education campuses and in parks; prohibits the carrying of weapons in K-12 schools except by certain persons, including any person permitted to carry a firearm under federal law. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13; Title 49, Chapter 6 and Title 55, Chapter 10." https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HB0977&GA=113
