  1. I agree with the caning but being publicly shamed won't do much for for ignorant, back-asswards, mouth-breathing scum.
  2. Anyone who shoots a Bald Eagle, or any other bird of prey should have:   1)  hunting privileges revoked for life. 2)  be banned from owning a firearm for life. 3)  to forfeit whatever equipment, vehicles and clothing worn during the incident. 3)  to pay a fine equal to rescuing 20 other birds of the same species.   Not necessarily because it's the "national bird"...Benjamin Franklin himself referred to the Bald Eagle as being "of low moral character"....but it's still the emblem of this country and there is absolutely no reason to kill one.  There is no justification whatsoever.
  3. This whole thing has gotten confusing....more so than Glock model numbers and their subtle variations.
  4. I think you'll get a lot of good info on that other site (saw your post).  There are tons of knowledgeable people there and if you lay out the question like you did here you might be surprised.  With my interest peaked and a tiny bit of research it looks like it may be a real deal carbine like DMark pointed out.   You might have a real treasure there.   Wish I could help more.  Krags are something I know very little about and seem to have a complicated history.
  5. You people suggesting AR's for a 6 year old are cracked in the head.   They only semi-auto any kid needs at that age is a Pez dispenser.
  6. There's a local gun store here (Maryville/Alcoa actually) that has 10% off or "we pay the tax" sale every year during the regular tax free "holiday" weekend.  The don't raise the prices either.   Maybe some other stores would step up without it having to be legislated....you know, to actively attract business.
  7. You can build one for $550 or less, depending on what you really want and were/when you buy the parts.
  8. My understanding is the Gen 4 without adding one of the additional backstraps is the same size as the SF.  I don't have huge hands and the Gen 4 21 is very easy to wield.
  9. We don't need no gypsies in West Knox...try the east side.  :P
  10. The Federal Aluminum 9mm seems to work just as well as the Federal/Blazer brass for the couple of boxes I've used, however it does look like the case mouths were not expanded enough when the bullets were seated...there is a noticeable bulge on many of them.   Also I could only get 16 rounds into a Mec-Gar 17 round S&W 5900 magazine but 17 rounds of brass would load.  Maybe it had to do with those bulges or maybe the aluminum case is a hair thicker.   Either way, at the same price as Russian steel-cased it's a good choice.
  11. So she likes a bushmaster..... :dirty:
  12.   Because many government buildings are posted?
  13. How much you wanna bet everyone that dove under the desk is now thinking of some kind of gun control laws...or worse, regulations?
  14. Bubba's had his way with that one.
  15. See....if you properly chamfer and deburr the case mouth get you a nice, clean impale like this guy.
  16.   I wouldn't get too excited.  Last year at Shot Show they introduced their new 1911.....people are still waiting.
  17. Cable TV from all providers has gotten out of hand.  Same thing goes for any other business or service if they're listening....PEOPLE CANNOT HANDLE 10-15% OR MORE RATE INCREASES ON A YEARLY BASIS!  I really don't know where they get off or what lala land they're living in but it's ridiculous.   I must have TV, internet and phone and am tired of having to call and dicker with them.
  18. Have you considered a college fund like a 529, especially if you are willing to put in a little yourself every month?
  19. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/1137970.htm Sold out right now but I wonder if this is something they normally have in stock.
  20. If you got that Ruger and the $375 I'd say you came out ahead.
  21.   Thank you.   While ammonia does attack copper I doubt there enough in Windex to support the claim that it helps with copper fouling.
  22.   It's political correctness.  Algebra and geometry are too hard for some children so they're renaming it.  It's still the same thing...just has a brainwashed name.
  23.   I would really like to have Photoshop skills like that.
  24. I use WWII USGI bore cleaner.  The stuff is 72 years old but it was specifically designed for cleaning corrosive residue.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-GI-WWII-Corrosive-Bore-Cleaner-/330744787885?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d01ecf3ad   I run a few patches soaked with this through the bore, then clean as usual.   Bought 12 cans of it from another member here about 5 years ago.  I'm into the second can right now.  :pleased:
