  1. Man, you just brought up some memories. The Sistema in the OP was bought by Mike.357. It then went to Mark@Sea. Suntzu was the next owner. I remember it well as I fondled it all the way up to Mark's house back in the day. It was an excellent specimen with a very unique serial number...and a loose rear sight.
  2. I'm sure I'm not the only one that wishes you would stop focusing on it if that would get rid of that Tapatalk message that pops up on the mobile skin.
  3. I never really understood that. Either your hand is on the grip or not. If it's not then how are you going to fire it or any other handgun?
  4. Don't let the revenuers hear you say that.
  5. Doubtful there will be a no tax gun buying day. It's already failed once most likely due to the fact that every bill submitted in the State of Tennessee requires a financial impact statement along with it (a very good thing). The Capital is not going to give up that revenue.
  6. You keep saying there's free candy but where is it?
  7. She's a total flake.
  8. If anyone in the Knoxville area wants to see a display of 1911's that's sure to make you drop to your knees and shout "Praise be!" go over to SIA (Security Investment Appraisals) on Middlebrook Pike. One of the owners has dedicated an entire room of that very nice shop to his personal collection of milsurp goodies including probably 40 or so old 1911's. I didn't count them all but it is a lot! All in excellent condition. It's really a beautiful sight.
  9. Simply declare that 9mm is superior to .45 and they will all congregate.

    I have a strong desire for a 586 (581 would be even better) with a 4" barrel.
  11. Well, if a snow or ice storm comes up it would help to weight down the ass-end of a truck to make it usable.
  12. Folks jump up, take sides and get all passionate when any mention of caliber comes up, even if it's a joke.
  13. That's kinda what I thought. Carry on and fight the good fight. Don't be surprised when jack-asses like that get put down.
  14. Ah, the age-old argument that has no answer. Did anybody read the OP...in General Chat? I'd be proud and walking tall carrying nothing more a Bersa Thunder .22. I can pump 400 grains of lead into something with a quickness.
  15. Do you have some proof of that? Doesn't matter much as they would have received the same welcome regardless, and deservedly so.

It was dissolved in '96 but its duties were transferred to the TN Regulatory Authority. They did have officers of some kind. There is even a law on the books that former officers could retain their service weapons: 65-1-114. Former public service commission officers to retain service weapons. A public service commission officer who is authorized to carry a firearm while on duty, and has more than twenty-five (25) years of honorable service, and leaves the service of the public service commission before retirement eligibility because of personnel actions executed under Acts 1995, ch. 305, may retain such employee's service weapon under § 65-15-106(c)(3).

    Tennessee Public Service Commission....maybe.
  18. The best part of the show was when it was over.... Where did she jump off to anyway?
  19. On iPhone I did not see it when opening the site or clicking on the activity stream icon or whatever it's called so that's progress. But it popped up when I tried to log in. EDIT: Forget all that. I just opened the site on iphone again (after clearing cache) and it popped up. Does it by any chance have anything to do with how fast the site or pages load?
  20. I got a jones for some Benton's bacon last year after hearing all the hype. Found out where it was sold in Knoxville and went on the hunt. I'll never try it unless someone else is serving it. For what it costs there needs to be some actual meat. I'm not paying $13 or $14 for a pound of sliced fat.
  21. This does not address the Henry single-shot but does discuss why the Handi-Rifle is no longer made. http://www.clarionledger.com/story/outdoorsreport/2015/07/21/handi-rifle-officially-dead/30479745/
  22. Well, my RTIC 20 arrived the other day. It appears well-built. Ordered it Sunday from Amazon where it cost $1 dollar more ($101.99) but I've been sitting on $65 of credit for over a year that I simply could not figure out how to use, so I used it. Delivered Wednesday.
  23. My check was in the mailbox today, exactly two months after sending off my bona fides. I had sworn off these dumb-ass rebates but got caught up in the fever.
  24. Would this be the "Read forum faster on mobile. Get the Free Tapatalk app?" notification? I anxiously await its demise.
  25. Sounds more like "I'm trying to work a trade but the guy wants a ton of brass or 13 to seal the deal".
