Honestly, $300 is the bare minimum for a reliable, trustworthy 9mm handgun BEFORE taxes, TICS, transfer fees or shipping if shopping online. If you are that concerned about him having a peice just give him the cash and let him figure it out. Some people you just can't reach and setting hard numbers doesn't work. He needs to buy what he wants. This is almost like a "what should I buy my wife and make her carry it" thing.

Tapatalk is the devil. David has enough to deal with.

I'm cool with partial totality. Really, we're talking seconds of difference between inside, close, or outside the zone, right?
-
Indeed.

Funny you mention that. One of the crackpots who calls into the local talk radio show every evening was talking about that earlier. According to him the 2024 eclipse path will cross with this year's forming a perfect x marks the spot over the "epicenter" of the New Madrid fault. Because all total eclipses coincide with some cataclysmic event, well fellas, 2024 doesn't look too good.

You might want to start washing your ears out when you get home from the gun store.

They should schedule a second show.

Of lesser immediate importance I am being prompted at the top of the page to complete my profile as it's only 50% complete.

NYC Government Traumatizes Gun Owners
Garufa replied to ou812's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Without watching the video it's because they broke a law in that jurisdiction. Same thing would happen in any airport in this country. The locals are called and you're carted off if the situation requires. -
Can't really blame them. It's a marketing coup for other manufacturers and is going to take Sig a mighty long time to live this down, if they ever do. I imagine Sig's engineers will get no sleep between now and next Monday. They need to come up with something revolutionary or just stick a Glock trigger in the thing.

So where does a fella go to get some of them e-clipse glasses in Knoxville? I mean go to the store and buy, not order online.
-
I will go to my dentist appontment that morning, then on to work. At the appropriate time I'll step outside for a couple of minutes and say "ooh, look" It's pretty cool and all, but to stop the world and cancel school as Knox County and many other ET districts have done, no. It's gotten beyond absurd. I'd love to be optomitrist on August 22nd. They'll make an entire year that day.

SIG SAUER Issues Voluntary Upgrade of P320 Pistol Published Date: 08/08/2017 https://www.sigsauer.com/press-releases/sig-sauer-issues-voluntary-upgrade-p320-pistol/ P320 pistol meets requirements for industry and government safety standards; performance enhancements optimize function, safety, and reliability. Newington, NH (August 8, 2017) – The P320 meets U.S. standards for safety, including the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) / Sporting Arms Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute, Inc. (SAAMI®), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), as well as rigorous testing protocols for global military and law enforcement agencies. The design of the SIG SAUER P320 overcomes the most significant safety concern in striker-fired pistols today: the practice of pressing the trigger for disassembly. This can be performed with a round in the chamber which has resulted in numerous incidents of property damage, physical injury, and death. The disassembly process of the P320, however, uses a take-down lever rather than pressing the trigger, eliminating the possibility of discharge during the disassembly process. Recent events indicate that dropping the P320 beyond U.S. standards for safety may cause an unintentional discharge. As a result of input from law enforcement, government and military customers, SIG has developed a number of enhancements in function, reliability, and overall safety including drop performance. SIG SAUER is offering these enhancements to its customers. Details of this program will be available at sigsauer.com on Monday, August 14, 2017. The M17 variant of the P320, selected by the U.S. government as the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System (MHS), is not affected by the Voluntary Upgrade. “SIG SAUER is committed to our approach on innovation, optimization, and performance, ensuring we produce the finest possible products,” said Ron Cohen, President and CEO of SIG SAUER. “Durability, reliability and safety, as well as end-user confidence in the SIG SAUER brand are the priorities for our team.”

Can anybody identify this company?
Garufa replied to Ronald_55's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I know it's not Triple K, but that company has been in the leather business in San Diego since 1946. I bet someone there knows what it is and who GLT was. -
Sounds like everyone in the world is coming to Tennessee for this. http://www.knoxnews.com/story/money/2017/08/06/solar-eclipse-2017-turning-tennessee-cities-into-boom-towns/527238001/

With all they hype I predict it will be rainy and cloudy the entire day. As far as glasses go, if you absolutely must stare at the Sun, make sure they are made by American Paper Optics, a Memphis company that produces zillions of glasses for special occasions every year.
