  1. The most common is Greek HXP and is very good stuff. That is what the CMP has been selling for years. It is non-corrosive and usually of '60-'70's manufacture. American made surplus is pretty much gone. If you do find any and it was made before 1953 it is corrosive. Korean is hit or miss. Much of it is corrosive and not very highly regarded. British Kynoch is corrosive. There was some Iranian stuff floating around a few years ago but I forget whether it was corrosive or not. That's all I know about and the chances of coming across any of those, except the HXP, are kinda slim. If you can't get HXP, just buy some of the PRVI M1 load from Aim https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=AP3006FMJ150&name=Prvi+Partizan+PPU+30.06+150grn+FMJ+20rd+Box&groupid=27. You might even be able to find some Prvi locally.
  2. Glad to help and I've seriously abbreviated the advice, lol. Half the interwebz is devoted to what kind of ammo to shoot in a Garand, adjustable gas plugs, etc.
  3. Wrong! M1's do not use a hot or heavy load. They were designed to fire a 150gr bullet at 2700-2800 FPS. Surplus M2 that is worth shooting is getting scarcer and prices are going up. I recommend finding some Prvi 150gr or even better, their M1 load.
  4. I'm sure you know this already this but when it comes time to shoot the baddest battle rifle ever created don't run down to the Walmart or gunstore and get some random box of .30-06 ammo. You need M2 ball or it's equivalent.
  5. Nope is right. What are you trying to do?
  6. A fine looking M1.
  7. They could be members of the Christian Kataeb party during the Lebanese Civil War.
  8. Why'd he drop his poke on the floor with a shootin' iron in it?
  9. Sales may be trending steady in the high range according to the NSSF/Brietbart but many of those sales have been driven by massive rebate programs and decreasing prices. From an investor's standpoint that is not ideal.
  10. Brietbart.
  11. Looks like it started looping back as it approached the center of The Bermuda Triangle.
  12. I have been watching the Weather Channel guy standing around in Naples for nearly an hour waiting for him to get blown over. I demand satisfaction.
  13. It would tsunami those vertical-filming goobers back up on dry land.
  14. This is from Long Island in the southern Bahamas. Look how much the ocean has receded. There should be several feet of water where those guys are walking around. This is some weirdness I've haven't seen discussed on The Weather Channel or anywhere else.
  15. Is this the "Glock killer" everyone's been trying to put out?
  16. While I'm not doubting you and would not be surprised if something like that did happen but Apocalyse Now was based on "Heart of Darkness", a book written by Joseph Conrad in 1899.
  17. That sounds like something the people I see walking around downtown grasping at the air and muttering profanities would do.
  18. Just one of those causes me discomfort. It looks like a castrator.
  19. Of all the fancy, trick 12 gauge shells I've seen at gun shows certainly they have something to stop a hurricane.
  20. How about some JB Weld in the left side of the barrel to push the bullet over?
  21. There is a reason it's called Flori-duh.
  22. Maybe they know it might not be the best time to start heading South.
  23. RIP Don Williams.
  24. I have no experience with the ATI but I've heard good things. I do know that Rock Islands in the same price range are rock solid and good to go.
