  1. Why do we even have police at all? Most people in this country expect the government to protect them. The “‘most” being the same that expect tighter gun control but the police/government are not obligated to protect them.
  2. It does comrade. I had no idea the individual was that unimportant.
  3. What is this “public duty doctrine” you speak of? And why the “unless”?
  4. The brain shuts off and vocabulary fails me on Friday evenings but that is exactly what I was talking about.
  5. Did you post pics of making metal signs with whatever computer-driven flame cutting device is used to do such things?
  6. I’ve read other stories that the man killed might have had some kind of past. I wonder if this was some kind of retribution. I also wonder just how much ammo was ablaze. A box, case, or what?
  7. Looks like AIM Surplus has an ample supply of the excellent Hungarian 20-round AK mags. Great mags that I’ve managed to acquire a few of over the years. Yeah, the price is a little high but not outrageous based on past prices and availability. These simply are not seen too often anymore. https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=MAK47H20&name=Hungarian+AMD-65+20rd+Steel+7.62x39+AK47+Magazine&groupid=15
  8. The only issue it would cause is with resale value.
  9. During the same era didn’t most states also lower the drinking age to 18, along with the right to vote? Not only because of 18 enough to vote but 18 enough to fight? The drinking thing didn’t work out too well, now all states are 21. The primary reason being lack of maturity of those imbibing and the danger they proved to themselves and other. It’s a tricky situation. The military needs 18 year olds. They are very impressionable and far easier to train than 20+ year olds, IMO. But consistently, that age group shows a serious lack of maturity, with or without discipline, the latter being just far less trustworthy in some ways.
  10. I always thought the were designed not to create a bomb. Once the seal melts in a fire then the contents are under far less pressure and can cook-off better. Still wouldn’t want to be around one though.
  11. That looks really good. If you haven’t finished it yet I bet some pure tung oil (the real stuff) or just boiled linseed oil would make it pop.
  12. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
  13. Is this the same guy that tore up an AR after Las Vegas or someone else?
  14. AIM Surplus and Palmetto State have them in stock. Where are you looking?
  15. Is his name really malarkey? Lol.
  16. I immediately refute everything Carlos Curbelo says for using the term “common sense”.
  17. It’s never been a question of “if” further regulations or actual laws would be enacted, but “when”. Bump stocks are being sacrificed by our “pro gun” president that everyone had faith in, but that is a discussion for an altogether other place. Th ATF could regulate them out tomorrow if they wanted, regardless of previous opinions. Who’s got the juice to fight it all the way to the Supreme Court? The manufacturers sure don’t and the NRA is not going to fight it. My concern at this point is the rather loose wording of some of the bump stock bills being introduced, and those still in limbo from last fall.
  18. I always wanted a .30 Carbine Blackhawk solely due to it’s reputation for being loud and obnoxious. Curiously, Ruger still makes them.
  19. In my earnest I obviously should have paid equal attention to the actual sections of 922 rather than just searching keywords. Thanks for the correction.
  20. That might not be entirely accurate: I'll not post the entire chapter but TN law states: 39-17-1307. Unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon (e) (1) It is an exception to the application of subsection (a) that a person is carrying or possessing a firearm, loaded firearm, or firearm ammunition in a motor vehicle or boat if the person: (A) Is not prohibited from possessing or receiving a firearm by 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) or purchasing a firearm by § 39-17-1316; and..... 18 U.S. Code § 922 - Unlawful acts (b) It shall be unlawful for any licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector to sell or deliver— (1) any firearm or ammunition to any individual who the licensee knows or has reasonable cause to believe is less than eighteen years of age, and, if the firearm, or ammunition is other than a shotgun or rifle, or ammunition for a shotgun or rifle, to any individual who the licensee knows or has reasonable cause to believe is less than twenty-one years of age; My interpretation of all that is someone under 21 years of age may NOT keep a loaded handgun in their car in this state for those who are looking at it that way.
  21. I made the same mistake with my Shield by doing what the manual said and was mighty irritated when I brought it home. The M2.0 directions are even more complicated by having you remove the “take-down” tool that holds the grip insert on and removing the insert as well, lol! If it wasn’t for lawyers and idjits that sear deactivator in the mag well would not even exist. But since Mr. Lowest Common Denominator might actually exercise the take down procedure with a fully loaded clip and manually lock the slide to the rear, flip the take down switch, pull the trigger and blow a hole in something, those of us with at least half a wit must suffer.
  22. I edited my post as you posted but you don’t have to flip that lever at all. Just confirmed on my “M1.0” Shield. After you flip the takedown switch and the pistol returns to battery just pull the trigger. It then comes apart.
  23. Here's a story on it: http://wreg.com/2018/02/11/millington-police-arrest-man-attempting-to-steal-loaded-guns-from-walmart/ It's been years since I was in a WalMart at 2:30 in the morning (if ever) but there are usually no employees anywhere close to that part of the store at that time.
  24. I have no problem with the trigger on my M2.0 9mm Compact and requires no tool to disassemble, just like all Shields, but that stupid lever is still in there if you really want to take it down that way.
