@Hozzie is right. It doesn’t make much sense to buy something with the intent of it being an heirloom. Too many emotions and variables long term. Get what you want and a good .22 rifle to teach and have fun with. If it takes then whatever you used may or may not become something to be treasured. And get something in a normal caliber. One that ammo is widely available for and will be a long time.

I don’t know how they do things in Washington but the state could come down on him like a ton of bricks for not enforcing the law.

Manufacturers don’t really divulge that kind of information nor would it make any difference. My understanding is they use stuff and blends of stuff not generally available off the shelf. I have mixed feelings on these types of laws. There is no doubt some people should simply not be allowed to have guns in their possession. There is also the potential for rampant abuse of one’s rights.

Today I stopped by Walmart in need of 30-06 as I don’t want to break into my stash of HXP M2 ball held in reserve to feed the Garand. They have Federal Power-Shock 150 gr SP for $11.97/box. Cheapest they sell so that’s what I wanted. Looked it up later to see what I bought and it appears Federal is running a $5 per box rebate. Score. It might take three months to get that $10 back but when it’s all said and done that’s a mighty fine price for ammo. I’m cheap like that.

While there is not much they can get passed, it will be interesting, frightening perhaps, to see the bills they throw up against the wall. It will also show what is going to happen when they get total control of Congress and the Presidency.
