  1. Tennessee history was required in school when I was in seventh grade. That was like 1980 and the textbook was blue, I believe it was The Blue Book. Every year Tennessee publishes The Blue Book. They used to actually print it in nicely bound book form and mail it to you for free before the internet. All you had to to was call and ask. Now it’s all online but a great and fascinating resource....https://sos.tn.gov/content/tennessee-blue-book
  2. Regardless of how those that don’t appreciate education think, history and “social studies” are very easily manipulated and for some reason to tend to evolve to suit the current generation. My FIL is a retired history professor and constantly laments the revisionist historians that have now taken over the profession. Textbooks are constantly updated and sometimes “cleansed” to make sure the children are being given the proper slant. Most of the facts are still there but the presentation can often be infused with opinion.
  3. Good call. Sometimes the discussions in the trading post (placing an ad there being the privilege of a benefactor) just get a little out of hand.
  4. @bud is trying to sell a safe. Do y’all have anything to offer to make that happen other than idle chatter?
  5. It can be yours for about $107. It's a BB gun, lol.
  6. Now you’re talking. I do enjoy Scotch. Don’t know jack about it, but I like it.
  7. They do work that way. You can go online and check your balance anytime.
  8. It does keep the heathens from the pure spirits.
  9. These blasted cards say debit on front and back but the instructions say to run as CREDIT. You even have to go online to activate and select a PIN. It’s still money back in my hands though but it is annoying.
  10. I hate them as well.
  11. Monday I received my rebates from the Deer Camp “cash” promo. They’re definitely not prepaid Visa cards, they’re prepaid Master Cards! With an expiration date of 6/19. Got confirmation on the Black Pack rebates yesterday so I expect another MC in the mail in about four weeks.
  12. Definitely a 5” barrel (the original “perfection”). That, in combination with the nickel finish, if original, might be quite something according to The Standard Catalog. I would get a factory letter for the history, shoot it, and treasure it!
  13. Without knowing the condition of the guns you might have scored with the Parker and Colt. Remington 11’s are excellent Browing copies. The Remington Nylon has a following as well but they are often beat to hell. There are one or two things you should have let go to get the Ruger. My opinion is as offered...doesn’t mean I know what I’m talking about. It all depends on the condition. If they have been taken care of you might have something in a couple them.
  14. A Beretta 92 does fit one of @leroy‘s parameters. It’s big. Has there ever been a bigger 9mm other than a High Point?
  15. Looks like I need a HI Power so I can get some of those grips.
  16. Merry Christmas y’all.
  17. That speaks to me. Who made?
  18. You ain’t right.
  19. Especially when you’ve only ever owned one of what your talking about, lol.
  20. Uh, Go Vols!
  21. If big and plastic fantastic is what you want maybe a Glock G17 or SA XD service size. Broadening the horizons a bit might interest you in a Sig P320 though. So easy to shoot. What I would really recommend is an old S&W third gen. There are few softer and pleasant shooting 9’s.
  22. I would recommend a Rock Island as well. They are great 1911’s for the money. The past few years they have also dispensed with the billboard markings and only have a small logo on one side at the rear. Very clean looking.

    Sig 365 ?

    This is the truth.
  24. Will the drone killers have laser beams?
