I am by no means an expert but it is a S&W Victory model originally chambered in .38/200 for the British (.38 S&W). The chambers then reamed out to accept .38 Special special cartridges when imported back into the US. It was quite common at the time to do that. But know that .38 S&W has a slightly larger bore diameter than .38 Special; .361 vs .357. The line of markings on the left side of the barrel under the original caliber designation are British proof marks. The folks on the Smith & Wesson forum can probably tell you all about it. I personally think it’s dumb to tear down the goal post tonight but it’s hardly destroying the stadium. Couth unfortunately, seems to be a thing of the past these days. Florida and Alabama are huge rivals for UT and there is a lot of history there. Not excusing UT fan behavior, but it really all depends on who those fans are. Many have never been taught any manners.

If it’s students tearing down the goal post I have no problem with that. Let them have their fun. As far as fan behavior, I have seen far, far worse from Florida fans. They literally are trash from my experience.
