HB1233 Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, creates the offense of storing a firearm or firearm ammunition in a motor vehicle or boat while the person is not in the motor vehicle or boat unless the firearm or firearm ammunition is kept from ordinary observation and locked within the trunk, utility or glove box, or a locked container securely affixed to the motor vehicle or boat; requires the owner of a firearm to report the loss or theft of the firearm to law enforcement within 24 hours of the discovery of the loss or theft. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13. https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=HB1233&GA=113 NewsChannel 5 story: https://youtu.be/TDOoY5PQKIA WPLN Article: https://wpln.org/post/a-record-breaking-number-of-guns-have-been-stolen-from-cars-in-tennessee-state-democrats-are-introducing-legislation-to-crack-down-on-gun-owners/ I agree that we should all be securing our firearms at all times but... whose the criminal here?

Copy on this. I do not have any plans to do so either. I have already gone through the process and have multiple SBRs in my trust and am glad I did it through the system and would not want to partake in this BS, either. When I did my most recent one, the pistol brace thing was up in the air the first time and I was advised that it may be free in a month. I decided then that it wasn't worth the savings. They aren't exactly known for operating in good faith. Getting an NFA Trust and some shiny items to put in it was one of the best things I ever did and I highly recommend everyone consider it while they still have the option to do so. As you mentioned earlier, they do not know what you have amended to your trust or anything about it until you file it with them. But they (or a court) probably won't recognize something if it is not notarized.

I agree that I would think your NFA trust could take ownership. William Kirk's video lays out the "legal" ownership per NFA forms, etc... but you and I can do a deal today on a non-NFA item and you are now the owner. The only way to really know if it would fly with the NFA is to try it. If I was planning on taking advantage of this situation, I would have transferred any pistol I may have owned into my NFA Trust and submitted the paperwork to see what happened. Especially as I would not want to own any such items if they were not in a Trust. I would take into consideration that it may not work, but oh well if it doesn't. We will probably hear reports in the future of people trying it but I would also expect that results may vary among those that try. As a post I put up on this thread Tuesday 01/31/2023 mentioned, the NFA FAQ on this issue states: Appears they acknowledge that a trust can own a firearm prior to registering it as an NFA item. Hope fully this will get shot down by the courts and this conversation will just be academic... until we get to have it again in a year or two, anyway.

free SOLD - Craftsman Model 113 10” Cast Iron Table Saw - Older Model
DHF replied to DHF's topic in Non Firearm Classifieds
Saw is no longer available. Thank you. -
Craftsman Model 113 10” Cast Iron Table Saw Price: Free to someone who will appreciate it. I am placing this older Craftsman Model 11310” Table Saw that has a cast iron on TGO before attempting to list it anywhere else. I want it to go to a good home and someone who will enjoy it. What better place to look than here. I received this saw from the father of a friend who was moving into a smaller place after his wife died. He had it set up in the small shop he had in his garage. He said it was working when he disassembled it and gave it to me but I have not had it up a running myself. It has been sitting in my climate controlled basement since receiving it. I have realized that I am not going to utilize this saw myself and have decided to try and find someone who would appreciate it. I was considering refurbishing as some have done (see link below) but do not have the time or extra space. The saw Does Not come with any saw blades, but the motor and belt are included. Side wings, manual and other accessories that are pictured are included as well. This is a very heavy saw. Online info says it is about 250 pounds so while it appears that it could be a good contractor saw, its weight makes it one that needs to live in one location. Send me any questions you may have, and I’ll get you an answer as quickly as possible. See Attached Pictures (saw blade pictured not included) I am in Nashville. Located close to the I-65 and I-440 intersection just south of Radnor CSX rail yard. Vintage Craftsman 113 Table Saw Restore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK7uhJV0MI4

Copy on that. The lawsuits have started to be filed and while this issue doesn't mirror the bump stock cases, hopefully the climate is right to get these overturned like so many other things have recently. At least buy us another year or two any way of a what is left of our eroding freedom. I have written and called all my Tennessee reps (and a few other's in the state) as well as those in another state I have property in, to let them know where I stand on this and the ATF in general. There are plenty of form letters out there that you can modify or pull info from to put one together. I may just be taking a leak into the wind but sometimes you have to get a little wet.

I have used a Silencer Shop kiosk and had the same trouble. It was myself and another person in my trust. We both had the same problems. It was absolutely painful. Employees at the store said it happened a lot. I darn near through in the towel and went and had them done with ink. Finally quite worrying if the system said they were passable and just went with it as I was told they would be inspected before submission, anyway. They ended up going through but was just about more trouble than it was worth as it even took longer than it would have to have just have cards physically. I appreciate you sharing your experience and I will definitely make note of your tip. I hope it helps others as well.

Did you use the Finger Print or the ATF option? If you don't mind, I would appreciate an outline of your experience with their service and how it worked, as I am sure others would.

The rule doesn't take effect until 120 days after being published so it looks like an individual has until May 31st, 2023 until it takes effect. I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV or the YouTubes, though.

The video that Jared at Guns & Gadgets posted today from a training seminar with the ATF tries to explain some current questions asked of the ATF on this. As much as answers from a government agency and it agents can explain anything clearly.

I agree with you. It appears to be circular. In a state such as Tennessee, I believe I could move/add an item to a trust with an amendment and have it notarized. If I had the trust in place before the rules publication date and the item was placed in the trust before this date as well (with proof), I could submit this to the ATF and see if it was accepted. I don't plan on registering anything during this window and am making donations to aid in it and other overreaching actions being overturned. But, this would have been the method I employed as I wouldn't want to deal with an "NFA Item" that wasn't part of a trust. Past the date now, so all speculation.

Transferring an AR Stabilizing Braced Pistol to an NFA Trust Hopefully the upcoming lawsuits will make this all null and void but I thought I’d throw this out for your reading pleasure and consideration. Not sure if I should have l=placed this in a new post but figured this was a good place to start. Please correct any inaccuracy you notice. If you are thinking of utilizing the window to register your AR pistol as an SBR and utilize an NFA Trust, it may not be that simple. The NFA says on page 5 of their FAQ for Final Rule 2021-8F (item 12) that you can do so but that the firearm would have to be owned by the trust prior to the date the final rule is published in the Federal Register (see below or link) Frequently Asked Questions for 2021R-08F (atf.gov) William Kirk with Washington Gun Law addresses this in a video he posted. Link is below starting at time he addresses the highlights of this. Entire video should be watched, If you are interested. https://youtu.be/mTGfhG-kpVE?t=648 It looks like that if the firearm was not owned by the trust at the time the rule was published, you would have to submit your Form I and have it approved and then transfer it into your NFA Trust, which will require the $200 tax. So, from what I can tell, if you had already had an NFA Trust in place and properly transferred the item into your trust before the rule was published properly (i.e. could prove it), you may have a chance of not having to transfer it to your trust later and pay for the $200 tax stamp to do so.

I wanted to post a couple of good sources of legal info related to firearms legal subjects that I have been utilizing recently. With all the current issues being addressed, they usually provide a nice concise, legal analysis on what is going on. If I was strapped for cash and there was a way to buy a plan that only covered in the home and a plan that only covered outside the home, I would want a plan that covered me outside the home before I worried about anything covering me in the my home. If something happens in you household such as a home invasion, it will be a pretty clear cut case of who the aggressor is. It is outside of your household where things get much more questionable. I also want as much coverage as possible. 1 million dollars sounds like a lot but even that will get eaten up quickly.

I have been a member of CCW Safe for a few years now. I have what they now call their Ultimate Plan. I agree with TripleGGG, you should seriously look at a plan that includes civil liability coverage. They used to run a 10% discount on your first year through partners such as Law of Self Defense and Calguns but I don't believe they are doing it as often. You can do a little searching and see if you find a code out there.

What Most People Who Carry Fail to Realize
DHF replied to crc4's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
For anyone interested. Andrew Branca will be evaluating this incident with Attorney Steve Gosney today at 3pm CST on YouTube. From the email promoting this event, "...Although the initial shots fired by the shooter appear to be legally justified as defense of self, defense of others, and (uniquely under Texas law) perhaps even defense of property, the last shot fired looks more difficult to justify. At the moment that ninth shot was fired the robber was apparently unconscious on the floor and had been disarmed of the only weapon he was known to possess, when the shooter fired one last shot, apparently into the robber's head." -

DHF replied to tech1985's topic in Gear Classifieds
Couple of questions. The American Defense QD Mount appears to be what they classify as their Co-Witness version that has a center-line to top of rail height of 1.52". Is this accurate? Do you still have the original mount that came with the Aimpoint PRO as well? Thank you for the listing. -
Mine came back in less than 30 days. National Gun Trusts has a nice little guide at the url below: https://www.nationalguntrusts.com/blogs/nfa-gun-trust-atf-information-database-blog/steps-to-apply-for-an-sbr-sbs-with-a-atf-form-1
