  1. This is a link to the ATF document you can download on how it is to be destroyed... for what it is worth as they do not say anything about having to submit documentation of the destruction. I would keep pictures or a video for my own records, though. ATF Document on how to destroy the suppressor is here: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/guide/silencer-destruction-diagram
  2. Very true, a much better timeline now than before. Silencer Shop is showing a median of 101 days for trusts and 3 days for individuals with Silencer Central and the ATF showing similar differences between trusts and individuals. I'll take 3 plus months over 12 plus months but 3 to 10 days would be a big plus in helping people be more willing to purchase used NFA items, at least for me.
  3. Unfortunately, it looks like Trusts are still lagging behind quite a bit.
  4. If I could only do one, it would be the TFA without question. John and the crew work their asses off for us and they are in our yard. ANY one who is even aware of this site and lives in TN should be a member of the TFA and making regular contributions, if possible.
  5. This is another reason I support the TFA, GOA, FPC, 2nd Amendment Foundation. They are fighting the fight and I need to support that but they are also carving us out exemptions/protections while the battle moves on. Federal Court in Texas issues temporary restraining order against ATF to prohibit its enforcement of the "engaged in business" rule against members of TFA, GOA, GOF, VCDL and others. https://tennesseefirearms.com/2024/05/federal-court-enjoins-atf-engaged-in-business-rule/ This is not a national injunction so citizens of Tennessee who are not members of TFA, VCDL, GOA or GOF are not protected by this injunction.
  6. Well, it is the primary firearm used in mass shootings.
  7. Second this. I am sure there are a lot of people hurting it this jacked up BS economy but it only takes a little applied observation to notice the money people are hemorrhaging one stuff they don't actually need or at least more expensive versions of stuff they may need (vehicles, homes, food choices, etc...)
  8. I am still a member of the NRA but that is probably only because I joined at a lifetime level quite a while ago. I currently support the Tennessee Firearms Association (membership and automatic monthly contribution, plus some) as they are the most important organization we have here in TN regarding our rights. Everyone on this forum should be a member and contributing whenever possible, is my strong opinion on them. We are lucky we have them. I also support Gun Owners of America and the Firearms Policy Coalition as you do as well as The Second Amendment Foundation. I find them very relevant, having worked with the TFA, and actually fighting hard for our rights.
  9. Looks like we have even another player in the self defense coverage arena. I saw an ad for them on the Washington Gun Law YouTube channel. Right To Bear https://protectwithbear.com
  10. Those quicker times are not being realized trusts as much as individuals from what I am hearing. Silencer Shop lists the times for trusts with a median wait time of 127 days. I bring it up as I may be interested depending on the details of the items but I would be using a trust.
  11. Just my thoughts but you could easily run into trouble if you are "brokering" an aspect of the other two parties deal. They would need to conduct the financial transaction separate from you and you would have to very careful that you were nothing more than a delivery service. I think there is a lot of room for a bad outcome if you are not a business set up to do deliveries such as UPS, FedEx or other courier business. But I would never handle the money, trade or be in anyway involved in the actual transaction. Question 21 (a) on Form 4473 asks if you are the actual transferee/buyer of the the firearm(s).
  12. Hope to see you at one soon. Unfortunately, I will be out next ,month as well. Sucks as they has been some really great information/updates lately. There is a lot going on that we all need to be keeping up with and being signed to the mailing list is great but I really enjoy and get a lot out of the meetings.
  13. That bad boy is a thing of beauty.
  14. Short notice, but I will be at the Tennessee Firearms Association monthly meeting in tonight (Tuesday April 16, 2024), if anyone can join us. It is at the Golden Corral Buffet & Grill, 315 Old Lebanon Dirt Rd, Hermitage, TN 37076, USA. You do not have to be a TFA member to attend. Everyone is welcome and you are encouraged to bring guests. Link to Facebook page with details of time and guest are below. https://www.facebook.com/events/957506916034011/?ref=newsfeed
  15. I have taken the position over the past few years that if I think I might want it or need it in the future, I get it as soon as possible without paying a premium due to demand. I figure, if I end up not wanting it or needing it, I can sell it (though this may get more difficult due to the increasing BS). Prices probably won't go down in the future especially with inflation and even if I take a little hit selling it, it was worth it. I believe we should all take this position with things like parts, magazines and other accessories as well. People often forget about what it takes to keep something running after they purchase it.
  16. It is great to see that we are getting to post who has the best approval time and it is days instead of months.

    Happy Easter

Amen. Everyone have a great day. I hope you all get to spend it with those you love and care for.
  18. From your post I assume the the suppressor you have came as a direct thread only. I would hope that Sig's QD Mounting system could be added and this would give you the option of changing out different mounts. I know it adds expense. You would think that Sig would have other options for direct thread but it is Sig. If you decide to add this you can also research to see what other systems may be compatible and if they may be better for you such as Deadair's etc... I have found that purchasing a suppressor is like getting a vehicle that is a toy/project or a girlfriend. The purchase is the cheap part. The accessories and maitenance are what cost you.
  19. I think he is referring to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O Railroad) bridge that was on the line that ran through that area but it was torn down in 1889. So, it has been a while since he was on it but we all know ho he often gets confused.
  20. You gotta love the quotes: "If somebody's breaking into your house, you're more than welcome to shoot them in Santa Rosa County. We prefer that you do, actually." "Come see us. We have a gun safety class we put on every other Saturday. And if you take that, you'll shoot a lot better and hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money." You'd think that someone is over all the BS they have to deal with everyday.
  21. I bet the guy driving thought he was tough just before this and probably told his buddy, "hold my beer and watch how I handle this stupid elephant".
  22. I hope everyone who can manage it signs up and attends. Jared Yanis from Guns and Gadgets has said that he is going to be there as well. Good to see that he is supporting his new state. https://tennesseefirearms.com/gun-owners-lobby-day-2024/
  23. It was amazing how fast it collapsed. I probably shouldn't have been so surprised but you think something big will take a while but it's not like there are many support points and they are all crucial.
