Thank you for the note. I find the current way expiration dates are issued inconvenient, as well.

... and it was probably more of a brown gun. Excuse me, I don't mean to sound racist. I would appreciate seeing national numbers broken down with this detail, as well.

Thanks for the question and the answers. Information I can utilize as well.

eForms payment issue
DHF replied to Sproles Shooting's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I would check your browser and put the site on the allowed list for pop-ups per what Snaveba mentioned and/or try another browser. I have had to do both with issues like this especially when using Firefox. -
Appreciate you taking the time to make us aware.

How much hassle is it to own a NFA class 3 weapon?
DHF replied to FireMedic's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
To try and answer your question quickly, I can say that I had a little apprehension at first as well but after purchasing my first suppressor, realized just how easy it was. I now have multiple items including SBRs. As mentioned above by the other responses, just have your paperwork in order. I do not worry about moving around and have not found it to be a burden to possess them. It has actually been one of the best decisions I have made. It doesn’t hurt to do some research on ownership responsibilities/requirements on ownership. Silencer Central, the American Suppressor Association and many other legitimate companies and law firms publish such info online. There is a Lot of misinformation online… big surprise. -
Best transfer fee in Nashville or Johnson city?
DHF replied to starncannon's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Godcountrygun, do you have any experience with any small FFLs charging a good rate in the Nashville area? I would be glad to add them to my list for future business. -
I was lucky enough too. It had just been on the range for some testing and it was being put back on the bench.

Just adding to an old post with a recent experience. I have used DTV Tactical Innovations here in the Nashville area to engrave three SBR lowers. They are located in the Royal Range USA building. They were laser engraved and they knocked the three of them off while I waited. https://www.dtvtacticalinnovations.com/

Best transfer fee in Nashville or Johnson city?
DHF replied to starncannon's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I have used Music City Pawn a few times over the years for transfers. Always a smooth process with them. They have a few physical locations and I used the one on Nolensville Rd. They were $25 per item and then $12.50 for each additional plus the$10 for the State. I believe they are now at $40 per firearm plus the State's fee. I'm not sure how this compares anymore but have noticed that most places seem to be at least this much so it may not matter . https://www.musiccitypawn.com/firearm-transfers As for suppressors, it looks like a lot of places are maybe keeping a few items in stock and utilizing Silencer Shop to handle carrying most of the inventory and becoming affiliated with them or one of the other such organizations. I have used Royal Range and Silencer Shop recently. You could check out Silencer Central online as well. I have a friend who just purchased through them and was extremely pleased. Also, the guys over at Nashville Gun and Knife are always a pleasure to talk to, very helpful and worth checking out. Sorry it isn't all that specific but I have found the price charged has kind of stabilized recently and you have to factor in convenience to yourself as well. -
For the self-defense portion of the knowledge you are looking for, I would start with a copy of Andrew Branca's book The Law of Self Defense Principles. It isn't exactly free but the $8.95 S&H he'll charge you to get a copy is as good as free for the amount of information and detail. He has some other offers there as well. He posts to his blog and YouTube as well. link to the offer if you want to check it out. https://get.lawofselfdefense.com/v1-full-freebook-lp/b.html and his site: https://lawofselfdefense.com/

Silencerco ASR -vs- Dead Air Keymo mounting systems
DHF replied to DHF's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Thanks for the input. I will be mounting to various SBR/pistol length (10.5", 11.5", 12.5") as well as the less "regulated" 16" plus. Using a Dead Air Nomand 30 and a Silencerco Omega 36M. I went ahead and started to ordered a KeyMo setup as I have an ASR with the Omega. Best way to tell what you like is to try it. -
Silencerco ASR -vs- Dead Air Keymo mounting systems
DHF replied to DHF's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I have heard nothing but good things about the Keymo system. As you said, finding things in stock now is a challenge. Thank you for the feedback. -
Thanks for the feedback. May pick one up and give it try. As you said, A.J., the videos on the site show some heavy hitters implementing it. I'll try and find the two round version and take a good look at it, though, bobsguns.

Checking to see if anyone has any experience using a match saver / Matchsaverz (https://matchsaverz.com/) on a shotgun in either competition or "tactical" training. Thinking of picking one up to try but thought I'd see if there was nay feedback before dropping another $25 plus.

Liability Insurance and Concealed Carry
DHF replied to Skyhunter's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Copy that pop pop. You are correct, I wouldn't want just any Criminal Defense attorney, either. I should have clarified. Most have also just defended actual criminals as people like those of us who are forums like this don't go around getting into trouble. But I would want someone who understands what is legal when defending one self. Gun, knife, bat, open handed, whatever. So what one can do in these situations is far more important knowledge than general firearms law. I would probably reach out to Dana McLendon first. I know he has a lot of experience, is active in the gun community and I believe he is at least in USCCA's network. I cannot recommend enough that everyone read Andrew Branca's book at the very least. Following his blog for awhile would help in addition. He dissects actual events so you can see where you would actually stand in real life senarios. In our current environment there are a lot of people that would love to make an example of a nice juicy gun owner. We already see it happening around us. -
Liability Insurance and Concealed Carry
DHF replied to Skyhunter's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Just a little note that if thinking of speaking to someone about this, we are discussing Self-Defense and not Firearms law under this topic I really don't care how many FFLs you've helped out, how many gun trusts you've completed, or how knowledgeable you are on SBRs, pistol braces or state regulations. I want someone who can keep me from going to jail in a criminal case for defending myself. Then someone with Civil Law experience so I can keep my assets. I believe it was Andrew Branca who said something like, the three worse places to get Self-Defense advice: The Internet, Cops, Lawyers. The other attorney in the Franklin area may be Dana McLendon. https://www.danamclendonlaw.com Charles Chip Cain is in Franklin as well but I'm not sure if he handles criminal defense or just firearms related issues. www.cain-law.com -
Liability Insurance and Concealed Carry
DHF replied to Skyhunter's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I think that having an "insurance" policy in place is a great thing, especially if you carry outside the home. I believe what is even more important is to increase your understanding of what is actually legal and how the legal forces that can work against you will analyze your actions. Knowledge will make you a whole lot less likely to end up in a situation you where you need the coverage that you have. After really following Andrew Branca and watching him tear apart cases and incidents as well as content from Active Self Protection on YouTube, CCW Safe and others, it is amazing how I have learned. I am constantly hearing people in our community who have been around a long time say things that are just not at all accurate (to put it nicely). Much of this information can be obtained for free or is generated by the companies and individuals associated with them, that we are discussing.
