I worked for Target a long time and every year there's a toy for Christmas that's impossible to get. As employees we knew when new shipments would arrive. As long as you were off the clock you could buy them and do whatever you wanted. Some people put them on eBay or whatever. Too me it's not any different, that's a benefit of working there.

My point wasn't that Walmart wouldn't fire someone for something like that, it was that they, (at least in my experience) have always had horrible customer service. Yet they thrive because of "low prices". I know this is another issue altogether but I'd rather spend more else where than go to the zoo that is Walmart.

Tell that's to places like walmart

Id have no problem telling customers that, if the customers don't like it they can complain to management and change policies. Until then he's only playing by the rules set forth. Now personally it's not something I'm going to do but still don't have an issue with it.

I don't really have a problem with what he's doing. If he has an opportunity then take it and make a few bucks from it. That's capitalism. Because he's got an opportunity that most of us don't have that's no reason to be offended. Now I doubt I would be advertising it. That's like people that were affected by hurricane sandy and people were bringing gas and charging large amounts for it. Yeah it was damn expensive but if it hadn't been brought they'd have no gas for generators etc.

I'm not exactly exhaling. However I didn't really get into firearms until I turned 21 I didn't grow up with them. So I paid no attention during the last AWB. I bought my first gun shortly after the AWB expired. I worked at a firearms retailer during the first "scare" only to see that's all it was, was a scare. So through all of my firearms owning experience I've never really felt threatened by legislation. That being said after the 2008 election died down I wasnt so short sighted as to think it would be like that forever. I've accumulated enough stuff that my grand children will never need to buy them. Although I wished I bought more ammo. I guess I'm just trying to get a sense of things so that I can prepare or know what to look for.

Let's assume there isn't an AWB at what point can we breath a sigh of relief? 4 years? When a bill is shot down before congress? Even then I suspect some type of legislation will be pursued if if it's initially killed off, just a watered down version. Even with no legislation the talk of it is going to continue the panic buying. I'm just trying to plan out the next few years.

Looks like I picked a bad time to look for my first rifle...

Instead of an NFA item how about an AR pistol? -
Without trying to be insensitive the person still passed away. Theres nothing the cell phone did to save their life. I'm sorry for your loss.
-
Not exactly the same. Unless YOU are a surgeon/doctor I doubt you or anyone reading this has ever had a life or death situation that could have been resolved with a cell phone.

I know its ok to ship a long gun but since it's just a receiver hypothetically it could be a pistol. Could that be an issue?

Powder recommendation

Also I'm going to probably be shooting 55-62 gr .223 bullets if that helps. The 300 will be whatever works best with that powder. -
Powder recommendation
orientalexpress replied to orientalexpress's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
What weight bullets you plan on shooting with the 300? There are several powders that work for both but what is ideal for one is not ideal for the other. I woudl recommend getting a powder for the 223 and a powder for the 300. I can steer you towards what powders work for both if I know what weight bullets you plan on shooting. Dolomite
I mainly want it for .223. I'm using h110 for my 300aac supers already. I really just want something I could use in a pinch. -
Is there a powder you guys can recommend that will work well with both .223 and 300 aac (whether its super or sub) that will cycle an AR?
-
What shotguns will cycle those short home defense rounds?

They worked in my friend ksg very well. -
I considered getting the noveske but ruled it out when I found out it has polygonal rifling, as I may do some casting for this caliber down the road.
I hate to dig up an old thread and it looks like you've picked out a barrel already but according to noveske you can shoot lead through there polygonally rifled barrels because of the the angled lans. I just thought I'd toss that out there in case anyone else was looking for an AAC barrel.

The blems forged were 59.99 yesterday.
-
I have yet to try that stock on a rifle. I may have to pick one up at work, as I didn't realize they were that popular.
-
Do you find it necessary to mod your pmags? I've been running my noveske without modding mine and so far so good (well except for getting my reloads to cycle but that's another issue all together)
-
I have a noveske 8" and it functions great with supersonic unsuppressed loads. Last night I shot some subsonic suppressed rem loads 220gr through it with an sdn(borrowed) can on it. Worked great. I'm waiting on my paperwork to come back on my sdn6.

Making 300BO from .223
orientalexpress replied to orientalexpress's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thanks. I didn't think it would make a huge difference but I wasn't sure. The info that's available is a bit confusing. -
Making 300BO from .223
orientalexpress replied to orientalexpress's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I know how to cut, size etc. I've loaded about 20 or so purposely unpowered, however I'm just confused as to whether I need to fire form it. If I can avoid the time and effort of fire forming to make a slighlty more accurate round I'd like to however if it's something that needs to be done I will. -
For you guys that are cutting down .223 brass to make 300 blackout, are you fire forming or not? I've read online that some people are fire forming and some people aren't. I can't seem to find a clear answer to whether it HAD to be done.

I wonder how that's going to work because mega arms is discontinuing the monolithic upper used in the picture in the article. My guess is mega is going to replace that upper with something that doesn't infringe on any patents and maybe this company will go forth with it.
