  1. I don't want to get into a pissing contest over technical features. We've all seen "the chart" it's up to the user/buyer to decide whether these specs are important. I happen to think they are. Will i shoot enough or under enough stress to see if these specs make a difference? I hope not.
  2. Without getting into detailed specs I'd highly disagree. I'm sure most of them function fine but I don't think you're getting the same or something better.
  3. Bushmaster over a colt? Based on what reasoning?
  4. Colt is made by walther. S&w is made by s&w.
  5. Im not loading for pistols yet so I'm either going to try to return them or trade someone something for them. I was thinking I read somewhere a safe operating pressure was around 35,000. I could be wrong though.
  6. I bought 1000 6 1/2 small rifle primers I thought I could use for .223. Well I did not notice the tiny writing saying that they were only suitable for low pressure rounds ie 22 hornet but not for anything high pressure ie .223. Is there anything else I can use it for? Pistol? Anything?
  7. Check out ar15news and sage dynamics. They do some really cool ones with founding fathers quotes. I have 3 ar15news ones.
  8. What I usually do for .223 (yes it's happened More than once) is take a sturdy screw and screw it into the flash hole. Then tighten the head down in a vice. Then take a punch and hammer and tap it on the bottoms side of the die. The key is to use a very large punch, bc if you use a small one you will damage the die
  9. Magpul may be behind. But we just got in 1000 pmags sometime last week.
  10. Agreed. However, if you limited it to just the mag in your gun it would greatly reduce that scenario. Still pretty useless though.
  11. There was a company that made mag baseplates with glass breakers on them. I could that being slightly more practical.
  12. I've seen some of them have a mag release issue. Literally seen with my own eyes not just read about however I've never fired one.
  13. Please take Piers Morgan with you. Thanks.
  14. In spite of your recommendations, I think I'm going to try about 10 and see what happens. I loaded one of the primers into a piece of brass without buller/powder and fed it into my AR to see if it would set off the primer. When I extracted the brass there wasn't even a mark on it. So i loaded it back in and slammed the bolt home again and there was nothing. The photos below are are the indentation the firing pin made after I repeated slamming the bolt home about 12-15 times. As you can see its pretty faint. One picture is clearer than the other, but the fuzzy one represents the actually mark the firing pin made better. I've had other rounds dent the primer much deeper than that on other ARs before. I guess it could be a combination of barrel extension, bolt, and firing pin. Since its only going in this one gun thats, all im concerned with. I also read that small pistol primers arent as long as small rifle primers so they seat a bit better.
  15. Actually I'd prefer not to say for 3 reasons. The first being I don't know what the companies exact policy on posting in public forums as an unofficial representative of the company. Second I don't really care to be bombarded with PMs and emails about certain products. Mainly because I am not an official spokes person of the company (we have a guy that handles web advertisement, etc.) Third, at some point I'm probably going to say (and probably already have) something inflammatory and I don't want someone emailing my boss and getting me fired. I hope you can understand and respect my reasoning.
  16. Has anyone use Magnum small pistol primers for 300 blackout? I had two guys that reload tell me that they would work, however one mentioned that out of an AR it could cause a slam fire.
  17. We got in 60+ ARs (I don't have an exact number). It looks they're starting to flow again but certain handguns have really dried up. as far as I can tell a few people are starting to bargain shop again so I'm guessing they're becoming more readily available.
  18. I will be seeing the new Die Hard movie. I hope it blows Stallones movie out of the water as Bruce Willis is on the record as been pro 2a. At least he's not a hypocrite.
  19. Growing up my dad would sit in the front porch and with a pick axe and watch for them. He had a way of tapering the dirt move and could drive the pick axe right in front of where the mole was and pull it out it of the ground. They would usually come flying up about 4 feet and he just put it in a 5 gallon bucket. They're pretty funny looking creatures but they're extremely furry. They're also some traps they build that you put in line of their holes. I think the most successful thing we used was a poison that killed off the moles food.
  20. Talley makes some rings that have the base built into the rings. They're 2 individual ring/bases.
  21. Ruger offers 5 and 10 round polymer mags. Although I doubt it would make a difference in the action.
  22. Let me recant one part of my post the suspicion based on bg checks is speculation. He was however 100% visited by an agent about how many guns he's bought and sold in a year. We both work together. It just so happens that when he was being investigated I was working at the aame place and they wanted to ask me a few questions about a former employer (gun shop) that had been set fire a year ago.
  23. I know a guy personally that was paid a visit by the ATF because they suspected him of selling guns without a license based on the amount of background checks he did in a year. He just bought a lot of them and traded them whenever he was tired of them. 3/4 of the guns he "sold" we're traded into gun shops. the agent whom I spoke with about a separate issue said he knew it was a waste of time but the higher ups wanted it investigated.
