  1. Welcome to middle TN, I had been away for 40 yrs and returned in 2010. Plenty of flat land in this area. I have a 25 and 100 yd range on my 7 acres in the woods.
  2. Cheaper than Dirt has the Apex DCAEK kit at $72.64 + $6.73 shipping, $18 cheaper than manufacturer's price (Apex Tactical). I installed kit and trigger is greatly improved with no gritty feeling.
  3. Yes I miss those old flea markets, those were the days. I bought a Webley 38 for $15. To many gunshow dealers with prices 10-30% higher than retail stores.
  4. The Ruger Mark II or III would be hard to beat. There are alot of used guns in both models for under $400. They are very accurate and reliable. The only thing it takes some pactice in re-assembling. Good luck with your choice.
  5. I want to install a front night sight on my 45c. I am thinking about XS big dot. What is a good sight for conceal carry and self defense, close range 10 yds or less?
  6. I cleaned 45c real good, for previous owner must have never cleaned it. I installed an Apex DCAEK kit and then fired 50rounds in an asortment of 185g and 230g rounds, all fed well. 185g were centered and more accurate at 10 yds.
  7. I installed the DCAEK kit this morning. It took maybe 30 minutes. I also cleaned parts and inside housing. The sear installation into sear housing took some manuevering. The sear deactivation lever kept closing. After final installation of sear block into frame and slide reassembly, the trigger would not pull. I had to wiggle with a little force the sear deactivation lever to get it to lower. I then reinserted mag, cocked slide then tried trigger again and it worked fine. Trigger pull is alot shorter, smoother and lighter. l shot 50 rounds of assorted 230 and 185g bullets to make sure everthing works and all went well. Sear deactivation lever has to be pushed to right and then down to lower when I disassemble for cleaning. Trigger worked correctly when gun reasembled.
  8. Thanks again, I was able to download/print the 2006 version.
  9. Where can you get a copy of the SW M&P Armorer's manual? I am wanting disassembly/assembly instructions in a written/picture format. I am aware of videos on internet but want a written hard copy. Something to have at my work-bench. Thanks for any help.
  10. I watched their videos today and will probably have to review them again when kit arrives. thanks again.
  11. mikegideon thanks, you saved me $18. I ordered just now. Next I will have to install in 7-10 days, when delivered.
  12. I checked the Apex Tactical website. Their DCAEK kit is $89.95 + $7.50 shipping, $97.45 total. Is the complete kit needed? Apex harden sear is $39.95 and US Block is $34.95, $74.90 + $7.50 shipping, $82.40 total. Do you really need the spring kit? Does anyone else supply these parts more economically?
  13. I just acquired a S&W M&P, my first. What type of drop-ins are available for 45compact to improve the trigger which is not smooth and about 8 lbs? In my glocks I install a 3.5 lb disconnector and a New York spring which gives be 6 lb smoother trigger pull. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  14. Yes shooting reloads 185g bullet at 940 fps and occasionally round hangs at angle with bullet tip tip top of barrel opening. 230g hard ball Blazers does not do this. My glocks will feed this round. I'm going to try 185g Reminington Golden Saber to see if their bullet shape works. This is my SD round in my Glocks 21 and 36.
  15. PM9 in a UBG IWB holster at 4:00 or in a pocket holster or LCR 357 in pocket holster or car door.
  16. I just traded for my first M&P 45c. Very accurate with both 185/ 230 grain bullets. Some feeding problems with 185g. Bullet would hang toward top of barrel. This is a Berry plated truncated bullet. I have owned mostly subcompact glocks in this caliber and they feed this 185g okay. I like trigger pull and small grip fits my hand, feels better than G36 and G30. I am a little concerned with length of 4" barrel in concealled carry. What have been your shooting and carry experiences with the M&P 45c?
  17. That is a good looking holster, is it comfortable? I prefer IWB at around 4:00.
  18. I've heard they have a good gunshow. I've never been there, but thinking about going on Saturday morning. Others say alot of individuals/soliders are trading/selling guns. I'm always looking for a good deal! I do need some reloading supplies too.

    New Gen4 G21

I have the Gen4 Glock 21sf and without the backstrap fits my hand for the first time. All previous 21's had to big of a circumference for my shorter fingers. Gun shoots great and I lean toward the 185g bullet at about 1000fps. I also like higher magazine capacity with the addition of a rail light. Good house/farm gun to accompany my Rem. 870.
  20. I 2nd for ChiRho. I have bought ammo there and one Ruger Mark III. Owner is x-military and a nice guy. They will discount prices on handguns.
  21. It was busy Saturday morning. I sold a Kahr CM9 and then bought a LNIB Glock 30SF. I usually do not go on Sunday's.
  22. There is a small gunshow at 565 Hale St. this weekend. Usually alot of individuals selling/trading guns. I'll be there with my CM9. Trying to sale/trade for G19 or M&P 45c.
  23. I have a super tuck for my Glock subcompacts. The most comfortable holster I've every worn. I plan on ordering the mini-tuck for my Kahr PM9.
  24. I am looking for a comfortable holster for PM9. I currently have a right hand inside waist band UBG which will take the laser guard, I have a Crossbreed Super Tuck for by sub-compact Gocks. Should I go to a Crossbreed mini-tuck or what? My last order to Crossbreed took 3 1/2 weeks.
  25. Show was not bad. Had a pretty good crowd. I sold one of two handguns and several other individuals sold and traded guns. Good assortment of FFL dealers and ammunition for a small show.
