  1. Show is to expensive with the additional parking fee, for the number of vendors inside. I'll wait for the Murfreesboro show later in year.
  2. I too would go with Ruger Single Six.
  3. I bought my M&P 15 Sport at 10:30 am from D&T this morning for the same amount as above. Guess we were the lucky ones, for yesterday they had 5 in inventory when I called.
  4. Hard to beat the Kahr CM9. They are accurate, reliable and have a good trigger. Price is around $400-4425 new w/ 1 mag and around $375 used w/2 mags.
  5. The G21 is full size with 13 rd mag double stack, the G36 is subcompact with single stack 6 rd mag, and the G30 is subcompact with 10 rd mag double stack. There is the SF desitination on Models 21 and 30 with slightly smaller grip circumference. I have the G21 Gen4 and the G36 Gen3. The G21 is mostly house or range gun and the G36 for conceal carry.
  6. Yes I have a 2009 Mini-14 Range rifle, but would like to try a M&P 15 Sporter, if I can find a good used one. I noticed prices are usually at/below $739 for a new one. The M&P 15 sporter has a 1:8 twist, how does this preform with 55 g and heavier bullets in a 16" barrel?
  7. I have a wood stock Mini-14 SS that shoots okay, group size increases as barrel heats up. The Mini-14 has a less military look.I have been thinking about an AR, but have very little knowledge as to which brands. I've read that the AR's hold group size better when barrel heats-up. I would like to go to a modest price decent factory built AR, not a parts gun. Suggestions please.
  8. A local welding shop should be able to cut to shape and weld 1/2" plate for you.
  9. It was a small show, but has potential in future. I traded by set of Vaqueros 45 Colt and sold the G27 w/ns I received toward trade. I made slightly more than I priced on TGO.
  10. I called promoter and they said gun show and hunting/fishing show. Buy/sale/trade guns. I plan on taking a couple of Ruger New Vaquero's in 45 Colt. I'll be there early on Saturday.

    LCR 357 Magnum

I have the LCR 357 and it is my 2nd carry. I use Federal 125g Nyclad HP bullets and recoil is good and very accurate.Hard to find ammo and has gotten expensive.
  12. Is the Shelbyville show a gunshow or a hunting/fishing expo?

    Trade or no trade

I persoally would carry a 9mm or larger. Maybe trade for Kahr PM9 or CM9. Good dependable and concealable small carry guns.
  14. I have had 1894c Marlins in 357 and 45 colt. Both were fantastic lever guns. I still have my 45 colt for some cowboy action shoots. I tried the Rossi 92 in 45 colt, even with change in springs/polishing, it doesn't compare to Marlin 1894c.
  15. This compact comes in either 10 rd or 12 rd mags. Is there a real difference in dimensions in Mags? I assume either 10 rd or 12 rd can be used in the same gun. Is the differences just the spring? Finger rest on 12 rd will not work on a 10 rd mag. This implies that base is different on these two mags. I have 10 rd mags and would like to use a 12 rd as a spare. comment please.
  16. It was a very small show, not many used guns, mostly licensed dealers. I went looking for M&P 9c and found a used one from another walk-around. So drive was worth it. I may not go to the next RK show in Lebanon.
  17. I plan on going Sunday morning and take one handgun to sale/trade. Hope there are plenty of walk-arounds with guns to trade.
  18. It sounds like mag spring is too strong. It pushes round up and cambering round moves next round in mag forward. This causes drag of bullet against mag well when you hit mag release and it only drops 1". This is most likely why it happens with partial or full mag. Maybe order reduce tension mag spring or regular spring and shorten slightly. Good luck.
  19. The 357 Sig has more penetration, stopping power and better accuracy than the 40 S&W. Also shape of cartridge gives more reliable feeding.
  20. Rugers are strong and the SW 586 or 686 were built for heavy use.I have both, and the Ruger is heavier in same caliber.

    "Glock Haters"

I like Glocks and M&P's, both. The Glock 26, 33, 36 and 21 Gen4 are my carry/shooters and the M&P 45c and 9 fit my hand a little bit better. The Glock is a accurate and reliable gun but the grip ergonomics could be improved, that's why I have some M&P's. The slim carry of the G36 replaces my Kahr PM9 on occasion when I want a bigger caliber. The PM9 is one up on Glock/M&P due to its size and mag capacity for a small gun.
  22. I've gotten some good deals at Toliver's in Manachester and he will do a gun transfer for $20 which includes State's $10. Mike seems pretty fair in his trade deals. There are alot of guns in the back room if you don't see what you're looking for in display cases. Chad, ex-military, at Chi Rho in Tullahoma will spend some time talking guns, etc. He has a new store with business growing, small inventory right now. I expect his shop to grow.
  23. I too have owned several 686's in 4"&6" and the 66 in 2 1/2". I decided to reduce the size of my gun safe revolver inventory, and the model 66's in 2 1/2" and 4" were sold. The 686 in 4" is a gun for all uses, is very reliable and tough. The 66 in 2 1/2" looks good and was an easier carry. The 686 is mostly my woods gun with first two chambers loaded with snake shot and the other four 125g HP. My snake and bigger varmint stopper. My 2 cents.
  24. I have had SW 629's and Ruger Super Redhawk's, both are nice 44 magnums, but for mag shooting and hunting I too would go with a Ruger. Sorry for causing more confusion, but I have traded 629's for Super Redhawks on several occasions. I currently have a SRH. Good luck with your decision.
  25. I carry a gun because snakes are not just in the woods.
