    Ruger SR22

I just bought this 22 w/3.5" barrel. Very accurate at 10 ft and no miss-feed, miss-fires, etc in 50 rds. Single action pull is acceptable, but double action is very, very hard, maybe 12-15 lbs. I wonder if there is a spring kit for mainspring replacement yet? Gun has safety, hammer drop and magazine disconnector. Parts list for a small gun is significant. Any suggestions on reducing double action pull?
  2. Bought some 308 LC ofb and traded a SW22 for a Ruger SS/Wood 1022. Sold Ruger before getting out door.
  3. I went yesterday, not real bad for a small show. There was a couple of tables with reloading supplies: primers, brass, powder. They didn't have IMR4895 that I needed. Maybe 3 dealers with handguns and AR's, prices were decent. Quite a few tables with personal guns, not alot of guns on their tables. $8 to get in out of the rain.
  4. 125g Hp Federal Nyclad.
  5. I went and it was okay, not many guns on tables. A typical small show. I did do well trading with other walk-arounds. I may carry a Ruger Super Redhawk 9.5" barrel 44 mag. with rings/box and a Leupold 2x scope, etc for possible trade material.

    Looking for a .308

I have the FNAR 308 in 20" HB and very satisfied. 5/8" group at 100yds, best 3 shoots out of 5 using 168g SMKHP bullets and IMR4895: AVG 5 shoot groups 1.69" and average 3 shoot groups 0.84".
  7. If the safety on and cocked and locked bothers some, consider the Kahr 380 or Kahr CM9 or PM9. No safety but a longer and smooth trigger pull. LOL.
  8. Don't waste your time, for I did. I did find/buy a FNAR308 20rd mag.
  9. I talked to  promoter and he said still on and about 150 tables. After reading porkchop's response, I don't think I want to drive an hour one-way to check it out. I have some 308 ammo, I wanted to sale, but probably not worth the drive.
  10. I noticed this listed in Gun shows today. Has anyone been to a show at Dickson Co. Fairgrounds? I was thinking about checking it out on Saturday morning.
  11. I believe Outpost Armory at exit 89 on I24 stocks Dillons.
  12. I agree they will probably keep their inventory.
  13. I was checking the remaining HSM shot brass and found a radial split in some casing necks. I don't think I'll get much brass from this lot for reloading more ammo. Head stamps were HP, so watch your brass if using this manufacturer. This ammo's brass cases after onced fired may not have a good reloadable usage. I guess my FNAR chamber could be toward max., but military brass was okay after firing.
  14. I shot about 10rds to see how they grouped at 100 yds.Grouping was about 1.5" for 3 shoots and out to 4" in five shots. One of the necks on case had split radially. All headstamps were the same "HP" which is supposely Austrian. Feeding and ejection was good. HSM ammunition is okay for the price paid.My reloads with 168g MK HBT and IMR4895 was 0.675" and 1" for 3 shot groups and upto 1.5" for 5 shot groups.
  15. I've had and carried Glock 30's and 36's but sold mind and bought a SW M&P 45c with adjustable grip inserts. I favor this 45 acp over the Glocks. I prefer either 185g or 200g hp ammo, especially Golden Saber or Gold Dot.
  16. I also have a Garand from June 1941. Mine also had a 1953 barrel installed. Fun to shoot and a piece of history. Congratulations!!!
  17. Thanks for the input. I had found 420rds locally at $0.70/rd so I bought it. I'll shoot some in my FNAR308 and see how it performs.
  18. I like the small on 9 full size and on 45 compact..
  19. I've seen this advertised in a 150g FMJ bullet. It says Made in America, appears to be brass cased but I can not find much more on ammo. Is anyone familiar with this company and is ammo any good? Is it reloads or factory new?   Any information would be appreciated before I try some.
  20. I'm trying to get started in reloading 308 for FNAR 308 and 30-06 for M1 Garand. I would like to use the same powder and same bullet for an accurate MOA reload for both calibers. Most data for 30-06 M1 shows IMR4895 powder, due to fast burn rate. IMR 4895 is in reloading data for 308. Does anyone use IMR 4895 in 308 and how accurate is the ammo? Other 308 reloaders have recommended Varget powder, but if possible I don't want to have to many powders for rifle reloading. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  21. I am accumulating components to reload 308 for FNAR 308 rifle. I plan on using once fired Nato brass, IMR4895 powder, Winchester large rifle primers, and Serria 168g Master KIng BT bullets. Do I factory crimp bullets after seating are do I not crimp? I know an uncrimped bullet is more accurate per literature but mostly shot in bolt action rifles. Since the FNAR is semi-automatic and magazine feed should I crimp bullets to be more secure? Your experience in this loading would be appreciated. Thanks
  22. David and 6.8AR will be at GS in Lexington, KY this weekend.
  23. I need some 308 168g SMK bullets and IMR4895 powder but I don't want to fight the crowd for it. I wish I could buy from David/Sam direct, if they have a place of business.
  24. Is there a difference in these two calibers for factory crimp? I have a Lee  30-06 die set that includes a factory crimp die. I bought a Lee 308 deluxe set that does not have a 308 factory crimp die included. I know they list different stock numbers for the different crimp dies but can you use a 30-06 Lee factory crimp die in place of a 308. The bullet dia. is the same. Help!!!!!!!!!!
