  1. I received an e-mail back from YHM this morning. They said their sights were for the AR15 only , not a 308 or AR10. They said the AR10 is a beefer gun and their AR sights would not work. I assumed sights for AR15 would work on the M&P 10. I have looked and there are not many flip-up sights specificly advertised for the AR10 308. Does anyone know of any available less than $175/set?
  2. Outpost Armory at exit 89 on I24 has a shelf full of MagPul Pmag Gen M3 20 RD LR/SR mags at $19.95. I have bought 5 mags in past two weeks.
  3. The S&W M&P10 has a receiver Picatinny rail and a Picatinny railed gas block.I wanted to use YHM flip-up sights. The rear sight  Model 9680 and front sight for gas block Picatinny rail Model 9584. They also have a front flip-up sight for a Picatinny rail. Should I order the gas railed flip-up front sight or the regular Picatinny railed front sight? Their literature is not clear and customer service has not answer my e-mail yet. Has anyone else mounted flip-up sights on their M&P10? If so what sights?
  4. I'm for more accuracy and I also like the looks of free float handguard. I'll have to shoot more rounds to see how well the M&P10 groups at 100-200 yds.
  5. The instructions I have read and videos I've watched show cutting off Delta ring, springs and retainer behind barrel nut. Some require removing old barrel nut and installing proprietary barrel nut. The SW M&P10 has a mid length gas tube with Picatinny rail on gas block. I assume this gas block would have to be replaced with a low profile gas block to use a longer length floating handguard or would you use a mid length floating handguard to end prior to current gas block? Does these additional parts cost justify the improvement in accuracy and having more rails on handguard?
  6. I'm a new owner of a SW M&P10 and I'm looking at what I might need to install. I have ordered YHM flip-up sights and also a Burris P.R.E.P. quick release mount. I've seen AR's with floating handguards, but to install you need to cut off parts, etc. Is the floating handguard that much of an advantage, I know they look kool. Those that have installed one, what do you think? thanks
  7. I've read some good reviews on the American Defense Recon at $159. The Burris P.E.P.R. is made in China and has bad buyer reviews on fit to their Picatinny rails and rough screw threads, etc.Any one out their have the Burris mount with good results?
  8. Which QD scope mount do you use on your AR 308? What problems have you had. Need mount that will holdup under 308 recoil and will hold zero when detached/reinstalled. Also as usual, QD scope mount with the best price that will do the above. thanks
  9. I have been looking for a see-thru scope mount for an AR10/M&P10 that will allow an intergal  mounted scope/rings and allow the use of iron sights on  Picatinny rail w/o dismounting scope. Is there such a integral mount available at a reasonable price? Shoud it be steel or aluminum construction due to 308 recoil? I have used see-thru rings on Marlin's 30/30. Can anyone direct me to a brand, etc? thanks
  10. What do I need to be able to mount a scope and still be able to use flip-up sights w/o removing scope? This is for a flat-top SW M&P 10. I'm not aware of what's available. thanks
  11. I have a M&P 10 on order and not being an AR accessory type person, I need some suggestions. I would like to add an economical but good  flip-up front and rear sights, I was told that the front sight should be metal since it attaches to railed gas block. I would also like a quick detached riser or riser and 1" ring QD to add my scope. What would you suggest that would be good quality at an economical price? thanks

    Which AR 308?

Okay ya'll, you convinced me to get a SW M&P 10 in 308. I checked and it takes SW, DPMS or MagPul mags. The mags for RRA 308 were very expensive. I ordered from Bud's Discount Guns with free shipping. Now I have to sale the FNAR 308 or I'll have two 308 semi-autos along with my Ruger Model 77 Mark II SS/Syn bolt action 308. Thanks for the input!!!!!!!!!!!

    Which AR 308?

I found a SW M&P 10 in stock on-line, but hate to spend money until I move the FNAR308. I may hold out until I find a RRA LAR-8. My local GS has the RRA 308 Varmint they just received, place order in Mar. 2013. They want $1700.

    Which AR 308?

I have a FNAR 308 20" heavy fluted barrel but want to try a more compact AR in 308 w/16" or 18" barrel. Those AR's that are in my price range are DPMS 308T or B, Armalite AR -104A, RRA LR-8, and SW M&P 10. I am looking to invest $1350 or less. I like the SIG 716 but it is $1700+. Which manufacturer is best AR for the money for accuracy and quality? Thanks
  15. It was a good game, someone has to lose and too bad it was Auburn.
  16. WAR EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEED ANOTHER FREAK WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :surrender:
  17. Murfreesboro show is usually good. I quick going to Nashville show when they started  parking fee in early 2013.
  18. I like the pre-safety Marlin 1894 in 44 mag myself.
  19. Franklin is alot better than the Nashville Show and not as good as Murfreesboro. I have ran into some good deals there before. I bought a Garand there at a very decent price. If there is some Reloading supplies it may be worth my 45 minute drive. I'll probably go if the wife doesn't have something else on tha agenda.
  20. A very reasonable priced carry in 45ACP is the CW45 single stack. Very accurate and recoil is reasonable with good single stack grip. I also have the Sig P220 which is a little big for conceal carry, so it is the bedside gun.
  21. Not a bad show. Plenty of personal guns that individuals were trying to sale or trade. I came home with a lnib Ruger SS New Model Single Six with 22 LR and 22 Mag cylinders. Now I"ll have to find some 22 mag ammo to try.

    Looking for a .308

I want to try a AR in 308. My FNAR 308 in 20" heavy fluted barrel is very accurate and I bought to shoot at longer than 100 yds, but I have not found a good place offering upto 600 yds. I've decided to shoot mostly at 100 yds and I want a lighter 308. Hope someone wants a longer barr and accuraqte FNAR for long range.
  23. If your local okay, but not worth 1.5 hr drive one way. I'm driving about 30-45 minutes.
