I'll stick to my Kahr PM9 for pocket carry. I need a pocket hoster with mag holder like Oh Shoot has.

Powder River XDS Spring Kit - Has anyone installed?
lshel replied to lshel's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Received Powder River Precision Xds spring kit this afternoon and install in my XDS 9mm tonight. It took about 1.5 hrs for I had trouble getting sear spring connected to pin and then had trouble getting safety spring pushed up into correct position with safety lever over pin. I had to go on line and watch the you-tube video on new safety group. Trigger pull is lighter and reset quicker. Better trigger might make XDS a keeper. -
I have the XDS 9 but my compact carry 45 is the Kahr CW45. The CW45 has a longer grip than XDS 45 and it makes it easier to manage recoil with better grip.

I'm wanting to improve the trigger pull on my newly produced XDS 9mm. I see that Powder River has a kit in the $18.95 range. Is there a good video on installation? I viewed a 3 segment session on you-tube, but alot of spring removal and installation was off screen. Has anyone installed the spring kit and what instructions did you use? Did the complete installation of the 5 springs improve the trigger pull and is the trigger reliable and not too light?

I bought a Cloak Tuck 2.0 IWB for my XDS 9mm and received in about 4 wks. I use it for my PM9 also. Holster is priced right and a quality kydex/combination. I wish it had the grip covered more for a sweat band. I'm wearing it trying to get use to it. Concealment wise it is good. Some discomfort when sitting and when not wearing a t-shirt between it and handgun grip, but too hot in Tn to wear t-shirt in summer. Tuck 2.0 has the more flexible backing, instead of the leather.

I have had and shot the Shield. It is a bigger gun than the Kahr PM9 or CM9. I sold my Shield and kept M&P 9c and my Kahr's. The trigger on most Kahr's is long and smooth like a revolver. I have several revolvers too, maybe that is why I like the Kahr trigger. Yes the Shield trigger is better than most M&P's. I like the M&P's for I have the M&P 9c and the M&P Pro 9, but they are not my conceal carry.

On the XDS 9, it feels better in a OWB holster to me. I've tried several IWB and it is harder to draw. I have the pinky extension to give by little finger a resting point instead of hanging below bottom of grip. In timed draw and two shot drills the XDS is the faster combination with OWB holster. The PM9 conceals better and feels better in IWB holster and I have pinky extension on it also. I might have to try XDS9 in IWB holster without the pinky extension to see if it feels/carries better. The PM9 is smaller and lighter than the XDS9.

These are the three single stack 9's that I have for conceal carry. The Kahr PM9(6+1) w/ns is the smallest and most carried. Next are the Springfield XDS 9 and Kahr CW9 both (7+1). The CW9 is a little longer in grip.

For me the best 9mm carry pistols are: Kahr PM9(6+1), CM9, Springfield XDS 9(7+1) and CW9(7+1) which is about same size as XDS9 and a single stack. To me the PM9 and CM9 are the ideal carry conceal size with 6+1 rds. I have the PM9, XDS9 and the CW9. I carry the PM9 w/ns most of the time and the other two are in the safe. Target 9mm is my M&P Pro 9 with aluminum Apex trigger and springs with 5" barrel. Excellant trigger with short trigger reset.

I've shot some of this in 147g thru my M&P10.It shot okay but I had alot of the case necks split when casing was ejected. Usually around 3 out of 10 casings. Ammo was accurate 2" out to 100 yds.

Conversion 9mm SS barrels from Lone Wolf work great and only about $100 before shipping. "Cheaper than Dirt" usually has them. Armslist had a Glock 19 RTF2 in TN listed. Good luck.

I have a Kubota L2350, 23 hp, 4 or 2 wheel drive option. I use a 5 ft bush hog and have a LB400 front loader. It lets me do anything I want to do on 7 acres of woods. I bought it used with less than 200 hrs.Shoparound on LSN (Local Sales Network).

I personally order from Midway frequently. They have always shipped fast. Yes their shipping charges seem higher, but they usually have items in stock. I have taken advantage of some of their discounts and free shipping. They seem as reasonable on shipping cost as most others except Joe Bob Outfitters who usually ships free over $90 and is fast.

I have a CW45 that has performed well with no failure to feed or ejection problems. I also hve th PM9 and I have fired over 350rds with no malfunctions. Kahr makes an excellant gun with a good trigger pull. Good luck with your CT45.

Another options is the Kahr CW45. It is a single stack 7 rds is slim and has a good trigger and can be carried easily IWB. My Sig P220 is my house gun due to weight.

I have an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2.0 IWB ordered, it is suppose to be similar to Crossbreed which I have for M&P 9c, but lower price. Whenever it arrives I'll report back on how it carries my XDS 9.

I have a Crossbreed IWB for my M&P9c and like it, but hate 3-6 wk shipping time.

In two shot time drills, I am faster with XDS than when I had a Shield. Seems like XDS has faster trigger reset and fiber optic front sight picks up on target easier. SA answered my e-mail this morning with the same XDS picture that pops572 provided.

I found a reasonable used XDS 9mm produced 3/2014. I tried two shot timed drills with OWB holster supplied by SA. Gun handles good and fast trigger reset. Now I'm wanting a good IWB for appendix or Kidney carry. I don't know if I want kydex construction due to wear on XDS finish. What do you have?
-
Thanks pops572 for the link and information. I like the XDS size and if I was to buy one wanted to insure it had been fixed.

How do you know if a used XDS has been thru recall and returned if you buy used gun? Did SA mark the serial nos. or some other part of gun if processed for recall? Those that received guns back after recall was there a marking placed on gun or serial? I know paper work was returned, but I don't know if a physical mark was placed on return gun.

I have the RRA Lar9 and it has functioned great, no problems. My wife loves it and can shoot and knock over 6 bowing pins in a row hitting the top of each pin using the red dot reflex sight I have mounted on it. Mags are about $32 a piece but Outpost Armory cares them.I have the Ar and about 4 mags. Makes a great house/farm gun especially when you have several 9mm semi-auto pistols.

I picked up a post repair/recall XDS in 9mm. The trigger is not as smooth as my SW M&P 9c nor my prior Shield. Has anyone noticed a heavier and spongy trigger pull after they got it back from recall/repair? What can be done for this trigger pull. I know there is a spring kit for XDS to improve trigger but internet videos show a pretty complicated disassembly and reassembly. What have other owners done? I like the feel of the gun and it's size, but don't like the trigger. What to do?
