I don't have any personal experience with him. From what I've heard, he will sign your Form 4 -- at least for suppressors. If you're looking for full-auto or DD, I dunno. "He's not from around here" so I wouldn't expect him to be super gun-friendly. Hopefully, I'm wrong about that! I looked into getting a can a little while back. I'm still waiting to clear up some funds to make it happen.

Chief of Police (currently Ronal Serpas) is the CLEO in Nashville. Its not the Sheriff like in most of TN.

I carry a Sig 239 in a MTAC most of the time. Its very easy to conceal and extremely comfortable to wear. My wife usually doesn't even know when I'm carrying. About the only time I don't use the MTAC is in the summer when I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt. In those cases, I throw a S&W 442 with a pocket holster in my pocket and go. I just bought a 1911 body for my MTAC. This will let me carry my 1911 when I need to go concealed. The MTAC is expensive but its worth it. I wish I had bought it before the three other holsters I picked up for my 239.

and wait, and wait... Reports are that it is taking most of the 90 days the law allows for people to get their permits these days.

I bought a Jeep from them a few years ago. I had narrowed down what I wanted to something very specific. No one in town had a used Jeep that met my criteria. Carmax had one -- in Atlanta. For $150, that they apply to the purchase price, they trucked it in. They were easy to deal with. Good financing and a quick deal. I personally feel you can usually get a slightly better buy if you are willing to haggle alot and spend a significant amount of time working on a deal.

While I never met Marswolf in person, I feel like I know him well from this forum. He will be missed. Prayers for your family. RIP.

I love the old Remington rifles. If you can find a good deal on an old, iron sight Remington you'll have something great to learn with. I've still got a model 33 that I've had since I was child. I don't shoot it much nowadays but its a great gun.

I got mine in 31 days earlier this year. That's 31 days from paperwork to permit in hand. I did call once after 27 days. I got the standard issue "it was issued today" message. This was back in Feb/Mar -- which is about the time the news started their expose on the DOS.

The only problem with going to Guns and Leather for a transfer is all the other goodies you'll want to buy... I think I've been there a total of four times and have a Sig and a 1911 to show for it! They've always been friendly and easy to deal with.

I've got a USP 40 and a P7. I love them. Very well made and accurate guns.

I also used ar-15.com for guidance on my first AR build. Not too difficult as long as you take your time (and have some semblance of mechanical abilty). There's something a little special about shooting a gun you built.

The state seems really inconsistent: Some people's HCP takes 90+ days while others get it in 30-something days. I got mine in around 35 days back in Feb/Mar. That was even during the time when Channel 5 was doing their "expose" on the HCP. Maybe their is a method to the madness?

You don't have to decock. When I took my class (also at G&L) you had to shoot DA/SA revolvers DA. Said it was mandated by the state. Semi-autos did not have to be shot DA.

I haven't used a Hornady but I have a good friend that has one (progressive). He speaks very highly of it. I am very happy with my Dillon. I don't think you'd be making a mistake with either one. Buy the better value.

I love my 442. I carry it in a Don Hume pocket holster and it just disappears, even when I wearing shorts.

I mainly load handgun calibers. I got my start with a Dillon Square-Deal-B. The SDB doesn't have dies available for long guns. The price makes it very appealing if you only want to reload for handguns. I use a single stage press for long guns. First thing I would recommend is to get together with someone that reloads and watch them. I learned much more from discussions, etc with someone that reloaded than I did by reading anything. Get a good reloading manual and make sure you are comfortable with the whole process before you start. Go slow and be careful. One good piece of advice I got early on was to select powders that make it impossible to double charge a case. This way you know that you cannot double charge -- which is one of the easist ways to grenade a gun. I'll have to look up all my reloading links. I haven't bought any reloading equipment in ten years or more. Good equipment will last for years (and years).

Yep, its made by Comptac. They list it on their website as the "Minotaur MTAC Holster". It has the leather backing. I don't really like the leather against my skin when I might sweat. I usually wear some type of t-shirt tucked in. Its more comfortable wearing the holster with some type of shirt under it. The leather does a good job of keeping sweat off of the firearm. I haven't noticed and rust problems at all and I sweat a bunch... maybe I should lose some weight. All in all, I really like the holster. The only drawback is that its a bit pricey.

I've got a IWB Don Hume and a MTAC for my main carry gun. For me, the MTAC is more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I like the adjustability of the MTAC.

Oh, I usually carry the P239 in a MTAC. I've found the holster has much to do with comfort and concealability.

I've got a nice little pocket holster and it just disappears -- even when I'm wearing shorts. I prefer the Sig but sometimes the little J frame is just the ticket.

I love my P7. Its my nightstand gun. Shoots great and very safe. Once you get used to squeezing the grip, you'll love it.

+1. WD-40 might be OK for cleaning but there is no way I'd use it to lube a gun. Buy a decent lubricant -- they are really cheap compared to the gun.

The first gun my wife shot was my Model 18. She had no problem with it at all. On the other hand, she didn't like my Browning Hi-Power (.40 S&W) very much!
