Tennessee General Assembly Main Page is the portal to the bills. You can get all the details of the vote there.

I also use Regions. I started with them when they were First American. Stuck with them through Amsouth and now Regions. I've been happy with them.

I think there is a big difference between a home owner's association trying to limit guns and a landlord. The HOA is trying to impose restrictions on my property. The landlord is restricting behavior on his property.

I got it at Guns and Leather around Feb of 2008. It's a P239 in .40S&W. I didn't think they were that hard to find but I haven't been looking recently. Its my EDC.

The $40 .380 was gone this afternoon. Somebody must have bought it.

In addition to presenting a compelling reason for getting a HCP, I would research and be prepared to address the "having a gun in the house makes you xx% more likely to be shot" and "x people die per year due to handguns" type arguements. You need to address the touchy-feely bias against guns with facts. Use hard, verifiable facts to support your case. Do not use emotional arguements or opinions in your presentation.

Restaurant Carry HB0962 To Be Voted On Today 04/06/09
bubbadavis replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
According to the info on www.capitol.tn.gov, SB1127 is on the Senate calendar for April 16. They didn't have the detailed agenda for Thursday posted earlier today but the session starts at 9:00am. -
According to capitol.tn.gov, the bill has been sent to the Senate calendar committee. The bill was in the senate judicary committee. They wouldn't send the bill back to the house based on a committee vote. If the bill is passed by the senate, they will send it back to the house ONLY if the version passed by the house is different. Otherwise it goes to the governor.

Lets all meet at the nearest bar to celebrate! -
I'm from a small town and my Dad was known by Jimmy to some people. He pretty much took all the decent variations. My friends in gradeschool came up with Bubba and its stuck... Maybe that says something about me

We should have been waving to each other every day. I live in Bellevue and used to work in Cool Springs. My wife still works in Franklin. My old company decided to shut down the facility just before Christmas. I'm now traveling up to West End for work. Maybe we need a TGO-wave -- the Jeep drivers on here will understand.

No offense taken. I've been Bubba for so long that I don't even think about it. When people decide to make fun of me for being a Bubba, I just let them find out a few other things about me. When people find out what I do for a living and my background, the Bubba jokes usually end! I do see your point. I like to do my best to go against the stereotype and watch peoples response.

I noticed your location is London, Ky. There are more than a few Bubba's up there... I'm originally from Monticello, Ky. The real name is James. Same as my dad's. Whatever you do, don't ever give your kids your same first name and middle initial! That's kinda no man's land: not really a junior but can't use their first name either.

As you can guess from my ID, I don't have a problem with Bubba. I've been Bubba for 30+ years. It was fun when I worked for an international company. I'm known by several people in Canada, Europe, and Asia as "Bubba". Most of them don't even know my real name... I even have it on my business cards -- at my boss's urging.

I picked up an IBM earlier this year that filled a big gap in my small collection. Since I'm a software architect by trade, I really wanted the IBM.

What Size Shirt Do You Wear? (Possible TGO T-Shirts)
bubbadavis replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I haven't made it back there yet. I live out in Bellevue so its kinda hard for me to get there except for weekends or when I don't have to work. My boss is a member and he was encouraging me to join. Since its only $35 a year it doesn't take too many range trips to make it worthwhile! Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you. I figured there were some TGOers there but didn't know how to find out since no one was wearing any hats/shirts. -

That would have been me. I would have had on a TGO shirt but TGO David doesn't have them for sale yet... I know, I know, just make it to HeroGear and get one. HeroGear is quite a trip for me and I just haven't had the chance to make it down there. -
Have you ever wondered if WallyWorlds employes know???
bubbadavis replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I play 'find the gun' even at church. It makes for some fun conversations with the wifey on the way home -- Guess who was heavy today? -
The range is still there -- it didn't walk off! The Owl Hollow Gun Club still exists but it doesn't have a lease on the range. The landowner has decided to run the range himself. The Owl Hollow Gun Club is looking for a new range but you can still use the old range under the landowners rules.

www.letargets.com has some nice ones...

According to Rep. Bass, this one had less chance of passing due to higher financial consequences. The felony could require jail time, which we get to pay for. Anything that requires the state to spend more money is going to be hard to pass. He introduced another bill (sorry, I don't have the number handy) with a misdemeanor penalty to keep the financial note down on the bill.
-
Rep. Bass was at the TFA meeting tonight. He was pulling HR0053 due to a higher financial note. By making the penalty a class A misdemeanor instead of a class E felony reduces the financial cost and increases the probability of passing. IMO, if it takes a lesser penalty to get it passed, so be it.

There, fixed it for you... I love how the prices at the pump increase instantly but take forever to go back down. When I hear the "but we paid more for the gas in the ground" argument, I want to know why they have no problem charging more for the gas already in the ground.

If I'm not mistaken, the SHOT show is a public place... There is no expectation of privacy.

I took my class at Guns and Leather. There were several people in the class (male and female) that had very limited experience. Mark does a good job of teaching the class. If you are experienced with firearms and safe handling, you will be bored through most of the class. The state supplies the lesson plan for the HCP class. G&L is relatively close to Nashville. They have an indoor range for the qualification part of the class. They do classes on Saturday and Sundays. I was well pleased with them. That said, PackinMama has some excellent advice. I would HIGHLY recommend getting some safety instruction and handling experience before taking the class.
