  1. You get what you deserve for not making the last G&L TGO shoot... Luckily, your condition is easily cured - go punch some holes in paper!
  2. I have a new toy (from G&L) to break in - if the creek don't rise I'll be there.
  3. I can't even remember my first BB gun... I was young. I got my first 22 at around 8 or 9. A Remington bolt action. I got a Winchester 94 XTR for Christmas when I was 13. We always had guns around the house growing up. All I had to do was ask, and clean them afterwards, to take any of them to the range.
  4. I've been in there on Saturdays before. They are closed on Saturdays with a Nashville or Smyrna gun show. I'll second (or fifth or where-ever we are now) that they are good people. I've bought a few things off of them including the pistol in my pocket as I type this.
  5. The food has always been good there. I've eaten there several times with the wifey and had a few business dinners there. I've eaten at Buca's in Cool Springs, Lousiville, KY and Anaheim, CA and they were all consistently good. The fact that they haven't posted is a plus -- I can still eat there!
  6. I did Electrical Engineering. I spent several years working in the laboratory automation market so I got to work closely with some MEs. I actually shared an office with a ME for a couple of years. Welcome to TGO! This place will definitely feed your gun appetite.
  7. I just gotta ask: what kind of engineering? I spent many a year in engineering school (and grad school for engineering).
  8. Buca Di Beppo in Cool Springs was not posted as of Saturday, July 18.
  9. Name: OCharleys Address: Bellevue location City: Nashville Details: No signs of any type Ate at OChucks last night with the wife. No signs, etc.
  10. Hey, not all the eggheads at the universities are liberals. I used to be one of them eggheads for awhile. At the last Goodman gun show, I spent a couple of hours walking around with two Professors Emeritus from a local university,
  11. At least some people will remember this at election time. My wife and I have already had a conversation about the next house election and who we have supported in the past.
  12. Funny, my Senator replied to my message asking him to support the override. It might have been a cut-and-paste job but it was an actual reply to my original message, had my original text quoted in it and all... I'm assuming he is a busy man also. He took the time and effort to respond. Plus, he is going to support the override! I will remember his efforts come election time.
  13. Thank you Speaker Williams! No need to keep rehashing the same arguements.
  14. Add me to the list of people that got Bredesen's canned response.
  15. Oh, I realize that intelligent people can disagree. I don't doubt that the Governor listened to other points of view. However, if he was vetoing this based on his beliefs, what he thinks is best, etc., I don't see why he would want the whole dog and pony show he put on. That is one reason I believe he was thinking of his political future. He waited several days to act, chose to usher in a bunch of appointed civil servants to stand behind him, and didn't even notify the bill's sponsors what his plans were.
  16. I can plainly see how/why you interpreted the Governor's remarks this way. However, I feel that if the curfew restrictions were in place, he would have mentiond going into a bar on a Saturday night at 10:00pm instead of midnight. Personally, I believe the Governor wanted to veto this based on his personal beliefs and his potential political future. No curfew or other restrictions would have saved it.
  17. I've already emailed my Rep (Harwell) and Sen (Jackson) asking for their support in overriding the veto. Harwell hasn't voted for the bill yet -- I made it clear that my future support (votes, time, and money) are contingent on her voting to override the veto. Jackson has been a big supporter of ours and I made sure to thank him. Their phones will be ringing tomorrow also. I also emailed the Governor and asked for his resignation...
  18. You can get a secure key from paypal for (I think) $5. Its a one time fee and then you must provide your username, password and 6 digit code from the secure key to log in. The only other way to log in is to request paypal call you on a number you provided when you were logged in with the secure key. Basically it means you can only access your account with the key. I've put lots of $$ through paypal over the years.
  19. Just make sure you are facing east, stand on one foot, and squint your right eye and it should go back together. These things are a pain unless you take them apart very often. I sometimes get the feel for how they go back together if I'm stripping mine often enough. If its too long between range sessions, I just pull out the manual and get ready to be frustrated!
  20. Let me try! Let me try! Option 1: Please post the specific TCA reference you keeping claiming exists. Preferable, highlight the section that supports your stance. Option 2: Welcome to my ignore list.
  21. Great point (and link), SomeGuy. I forget that not everyone here is a TFA member or might not check the TFA forum often. Its a great resource.
  22. The non-concur motion did not get 50 votes. It was 45-44. Also, two of the reps you state in an earlier post would support a clean bill (Bass and McCord) voted YES on the non-concur. I would like to be as optimistic as you about a clean bill passing, but I don't trust the house. The vote on the non-concur motion just does not make sense unless 1) the house members were confused as to what they were voting on, or 2) the house is up to something fishy. I'm afraid that at the rate we are going, we are going to end up with nothing.
