  1. This woot-off is about over. The BoC usually signals they are winding down.
  2. My powered attic fans quit working back in June. I went up in the attic and found and fixed the problem - it was a wiring issue. By the time I was finished, I was about to pass out. I have a wireless temperature sensor in the attic and it was 138*. I felt like I was working in a sauna!
  3. I think the OP was asking to see the company policy. They couldn't produce it. Probably because they didn't have one. The manager was making policy up as he goes along. It sounds to me like they were looking for a reason (even though they don't need one in a right to work state) to get rid of the OP. Maybe they wanted to get rid of the OP 'for cause'? Granted, the OP could have handled things better than throwing around company property. To the OP, I doubt your meeting is going to produce anything. Some of management wants rid of you and you want a better job. Its probably for the best that you part ways.
  4. In that case, you are stuck with them. I didn't realize things out of your control were tying you to them, otherwise I wouldn't have even brought up changing banks.
  5. Sure you can, there are other banks. Or, the bank could post that OC is not allowed - TCA does allow that. I've already brought up changing banks to my wife. Maybe I'll find a smaller bank that will listen to customers and not tell them "nothing you can do".
  6. Just tell her you bought two inexpensive guns rather than one REALLY pricey one. Take her to a shop that sells high end 1911s to show her what they can cost.
  7. That was the branch I was at on Tuesday. It was posted Tuesday afternoon. Anyone know if it was posted before or after the robbery? Well, it was robbed on Monday afternoon. I guess they think that little sticker on the door would have stopped the bank robber.
  8. The Regions branch in Bellevue (near the now defunct mall) is now posted. This week was the first time I've been there since they posted.
  9. The wife and I voted early.
  10. Cool! In Davidson Co, they'd call the cops for trying to enter something like that...
  11. Welcome to one of the free states!
  12. Make sure you open carry when you attend the judging - it might help your results.
  13. The thought of KahrMan sitting through Twilight makes me feel better!
  14. Ouch! That looks like a good reason not to play keeper... Hope she heals fast, KahrMan. I'm really glad its not more serious. Maybe to help the healing, you should go sit through one of the Twilight movies with her?
  15. Isn't it funny how Mr. Murphy likes to show up. I had a garage door torsion spring pop today. At least it was when the door was closing... Home ownership is fun (and expensive).
  16. Does that mean the 'punisher inn' is open for TGO members traveling through Memphis? Paying off your credit cards is a great financial move. That interest adds up quickly - and its just profit for the bank.
  17. Same article is in today's Tennessean. At least the CA put the poll question in their article.
  18. This reminds me of the guys you (too often) see at a gun show telling their fiends about the "Smith and Western" they have at home.
  19. Sweet 220. Sig makes some awfully nice pistols. My EDC is a Sig 239 - much easier to hide than a 220, at least with my belly in the way.
  20. Shoot the cat sorry, couldn't resist!
  21. Mike hit the nail on the head. Before this comes up, as it almost always does, you can't give or receive a firearm as a gift (without going through a FFL) to/from someone out of state.
  22. According to the ATF FAQ at ATF Online - Firearms - Frequently Asked Questions - Unlicensed Persons A person may only acquire a firearm within the person’s own State, except that he or she may purchase or otherwise acquire a rifle or shotgun, in person, at a licensee’s premises in any State, provided the sale complies with State laws applicable in the State of sale and the State where the purchaser resides. A person may borrow or rent a firearm in any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes. [18 U.S.C. 922(a)(3) and (5), 922((3), 27 CFR 478.29 and 478.30] So basically, you can purchase a long gun out of state, as long as you purchase from a FFL and that the sale applies with all state laws in both your state of residence and the state where you are buying the gun. Any handgun purchase requires a FFL transfer take place in your state of residence. A long gun you can purchase, and take possession, from a FFL in another state. Buying/selling face to face with a non-licensed resident of another state is illegal.
  23. I've got a friend running for the Republican nomination for the 5th congressional seat also. Bob Schwartz is a real conservative. I've had some detailed conversations with Bob about where he stands on many issues. I think he would do a great job representing gun owners in congress. I happen to agree with many of his other stances also. Check him out at http://www.beatcooper.com. That said, I've got nothing against CeCe. If she is the Republican nominee, I have no problems supporting her. There are a handful of R candidates that I would whole heartedly support. I happen to have known Bob before he was a candidate - so I tend to trust him a bit more. I really believe he is stating what he believes and not just what the voters want to hear.
  24. Those conversations are never fun. I got laid off from a company that closed their office in TN. Our last couple of days were spent packing up everything useful in the place and throwing away everything else. Makes you really want to do your best helping them move! Best of luck finding work Gun Geek. What type of work are you looking for?
  25. In the interest of full disclosure, Jeff is a friend of mine and I may be doing some instructing for Mossy Creek Custom in the future. I haven't taken a course from Jeff but I have known him for about three years. Mossy Creek has done some gunsmithing work for me in the past. Jeff is a standup guy and is very knowledgeable w.r.t. firearms. We have discussed his classes since he started planning to offer them. I know he is running his classes the right way - a full 8 hours. He does use the full four hours on the range - so you should get to have a little fun in addition to the required qualification course of fire. Jeff has some prior LEO experience but do not plan on his HCP/NRA basic pistol class having a tactical flavor. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
