  1. Getting my HCP actually helped me with my temper. I realize the responsibility of carrying and know that I *always* have to be the bigger man and walk away from frustrating situations. If you happen to print and you're angry, someone will probably call the cops about the crazy guy with a gun, even if you aren't doing anything to justify it.
  2. Well said. I carry a 239 in .40 short and weak most of the time. Its a great carry piece - if you are comfortable with only 8 rounds of ammo or carrying a spare mag.
  3. One of the slimmest semi-auto's I've shot is the HK P7. Now, they are expensive and rather heavy. But they are slim and accurate!
  4. Sure, as long as you shoot them semi-auto Jasongar8 hit the nail on the head - no full auto fire allowed.
  5. Every so often, Gallatin Gun Club opens up their membership. Watch the website early next year, they may have some spots available. There membership is limited due to their lease arrangement with TVA - who owns the land the range is on.
  6. When UF lined up for that play, the first thing I said was 'jump pass'. When Bubba can call it, you know the D is going to be ready for it.
  7. When you hit 500, you get the honor of being a TGO Senior Member.
  8. Well, I don't guess I'll be stopping by to eat anytime soon! Its a Sig 239 - my EDC.
  9. Welcome to TGO! Stay around and make yourself at home. Since you are a chef, where do you work? (and are they posted?)
  10. Full auto weapons are legal in Tennessee, as long as you follow all NFA rules. You must have a copy of your tax stamp with you. If you are traveling into other states (than your home state) with a NFA firearm, you must get permission from the BATFE first and all the states you are visiting must allow NFA weapons. Whew!
  11. On one occasion, years ago, I cashed a check at Regions for $5500. They had no problem giving me that in $100s. This was at their downtown Nashville location - a branch would've probably freaked out. I got some strange looks from the bank personnel over that one... It was for home renovations.
  12. I'm cross eye dominant - right handed, left eye dominant. I also slightly tilt my pistol to the left. It looks strange to most people but it works well enough for me. A slight counter-clockwise tilt just really helps me see the sights better.
  13. Jeff at Mossy Creek Custom sometimes offers classes during the week. He is in Nashville. Custom Gunsmithing for Glocks, Remington Shotguns, AR-15's and Revolvers - Mossy Creek Custom
  14. Guns and Leather is in Greenbriar. They are worth the drive. They stock Class III stuff and readily deal with trusts.
  15. Maybe this means there will be some old ATF Sigs on the market soon...
  16. They also take your prints electronically instead of the old ink-and-paper method. That should help speed up the actual process. Its the government, running around is supposed to be good for you!

    WTF

    Help me.
  18. If your tires have directional tread, this won't work.
  19. Long guns too. You can purchase a long gun from an out of state FFL and bring it home. You have to take possession of a handgun from an in-state FFL. If you buy out of state, the handgun has to be transferred to a FFL in your state of residence. A rule of thumb is any gun that crosses state lines is going to require a FFL to get involved to stay legal. There are exceptions in the case of wills, etc.
  20. I've got a T3T (stainless version) and its a great carry gun. If I ever get to where I'm not the limiting factor when shooting the Nighthawk, I'll be one heck of a pistol shooter!
  21. If you have a car and want to kill a bunch of time sitting it traffic, the Winchester house is down in San Jose. I was in San Jose in 2008 on business and really wanted to get by the Winchester house but I just didn't have time. It would have been cool to tour.
  22. I stopped by today also. Brought my wife along with me for will power! Some shop layout as before (hard to do much differently in the available space) - but much more personable staff. I'll definitely be back when I'm looking for new 'tools'. We needed a good gun shop in West Nashville.
  23. California? If so, they wouldn't let you have that T3 anyway. From what I understand, Nighthawk has to ship the T3 without the mag well to CA. You know that mag well is the cause of so many gun crimes! BTW, I picked up a T3T last year (same gun, just in stainless). I absolutely love it.
  24. I love the fact it has a rail - so you can add optics!
  25. As I understand it, the 5320.20 isn't needed for suppressors. I think you can still file one for a can, but it isn't required.
