You can get a Springfield loaded in that price range. I had one (commander length) and it was a great 1911. The only reason I don't have it now is because of the great birthday present my wife got me a couple of years ago - it made it so the Springfield just sat in the safe.

Stay safe! And thank you for your service.

Great to hear from you TDR. Hopefully everything is going well with the family. Try to stop in more often.

What is the cost of doing a Trust?
That is going to vary by attorney and your specific circumstances. I'd suggest contacting Chip via PM to start a conversation. At least in my case, he gave me a great deal compared to what my research showed some attorneys charge. Chip even explained why he could offer such a good deal.

Of course, this is just me, but since there is no requirement to TELL the LEO that you have a permit, I'm just wondering why you did.
I got pulled over at a traffic stop and had my pistol in my pocket. I have a permit to carry but I didn't see any need to inform the officer that I had a weapon on me. He gave me a warning and sent me on my way. End of story.
That said, I am sorry for all your trouble. It seems that too many times the law abiding citizen gets penalized more than the criminals do.
When the officer runs your license, he will see you have a HCP. He can then ask if you are carrying - which you have to answer. Volunteering that you are carrying could change the whole dynamic of a situation. Its possible that by offering the information that he was carrying kept the OP from a stay in the graybar hotel.

Jumping on the bandwagon, I had Chip set up my trust. He's super easy to deal with and gave me a great deal. I'd recommend being careful with pre-packaged trusts - I've heard of issues with Quicken trusts, etc. Better safe than sorry when dealing with NFA items.

I completely agree 6.8 AR: the whole concept of a 'hate crime' is ludicrous.
"Lets make something more illegal. Yeah, that's the ticket!" must have been their train of thought when coming up with these laws. But it makes certain people feel good. Blah...
-
If you believe in that hate crime crap, you've swallowed a pill you shouldn't have. That's a law that should have never been considered. That law is a pile of crap.
Sorry, my sarcasm didn't show through my posting! IMO, 'hate crimes' are a way to place extra penalties on a crime based on why someone believes they committed the act. Who gets to determine why? If we wanted to be sensible, all murders would be hate crimes - I can't imagine murdering someone out of love...
-
So does a mob beating qualify as a hate crime?
Lots of things everyone could have done to prevent that crap from happening. Sometimes its smart to simply walk away.

Sorry for your loss Steelharp.

There's no telling what these things are doing to us. I even heard that this "I have to have sanitizer hanging from every loop on me" phase has brought out new strains. My wife has DOZENS of little Bath and Body Works hand sanitizers. It is what it is. The more we try to destroy the natural order of things, the more they will destroy us......
Don't we have to add all sorts of nasty things to vaccines anyway to make our bodies realize them as a threat. Because fighting a weakened/dead strain wouldn't really help you kill a full on outbreak of whatever it is. In order for your body to ward of some full force monster, wouldn't it have to learn ON a full force monster? ..... I forget with vaccine it is but I think it's been proven to cause Autism. I think they made it manditory in the 70's and 300% more people got the vaccine and autism rose like 300%... I don't know for sure.... It's past my bedtime.....
While lots of people think vaccines cause Autism, it hasn't been proven. Numerous studies have found no link. That doesn't mean there isn't some correlation that we haven't found. It sure doesn't keep people from believing it.

I've got a friend in Hawaii on his honeymoon. He responded to an email and, thankfully, is OK. Scary stuff - I can't imagine the destruction in Japan right now.

Only you can see your max bid.

Welcome to TGO. There's a few native Kentuckians on this forum - although most of us call TN home now.

Wow! I can't imagine going through that - either as the soldier or the surgeon.

Evidently this is how the Mexican drug cartels acquire over 90% of their cars.

I've heard of long range, high precision shooters trying to make sure the insides and primer pockets are clean. They claim it makes for higher consistency.
I'm not a long range shooter - so I never worry about the insides and the primer pockets. I just tumble my brass and reload.
-
I'd be careful with dipping into acid. Too long could weaken the brass. You might not see the damage until it fails when firing.
-
Have you ever had the need for punctuation?
-
I have heard of success with ultrasonic cleaners. I've got one I use for other cleaning purposes - I just use a tumbler to clean my brass.

Did you run for Governor, at the last elections?
Great, gotta get a new keyboard now... This one is full of Diet Coke!

Yes that true but y would u go in a bar in the first place if u wasnt gonna drink that silly that just gonna cause someone to get killed for nutn cuz someone looked at his wife or gf it be on the news b4 long lol then one person mess it up for other people that way usually goes
Designated driver? I don't drink at all but I have been known to hang out at a bar with friends that do drink.
If you want to get real picky, there are almost no bars in Tennessee. What most people would consider a bar usually gets a restaurant liquor license. The recent law was not intended to allow people to drink and carry - its intent was to allow HCP holders to carry into restaurants.
-
As long as the FFL will accept it from you, yes. A non-licensee can transfer a firearm to a licensee in any state. The FFL can then legally transfer the firearm to your relative. I would suggest calling the FFL to make sure they are OK with you physically bringing them the firearm.

Must be democrat that y i guess they can bring guns in bars now lol explain that haslam get done wit tenn we see how it goes
You can carry into places the serve alcohol now but you cannot drink.
