  1. ASP != APPS I was originally on the same thought train as you MacGyver. But Buford's place is APPS (A.P.P.S Target Shooting versus Street Survival Shooting).
  2. No need to get a gift certificate. One just needs to know and follow the law. Don't trust what you 'hear' from someone but do the necessary research yourself.
  3. I assume you are talking about a long gun. Your brother did indeed need to do a transfer through a FFL to be legal. If it was a handgun, the FFL messed up. From the ATF FAQ website (http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unlicensed-persons.html): Q: From whom may an unlicensed person acquire a firearm under the GCA? A person may only acquire a firearm within the person’s own State, except that he or she may purchase or otherwise acquire a rifle or shotgun, in person, at a licensee’s premises in any State, provided the sale complies with State laws applicable in the State of sale and the State where the purchaser resides. A person may borrow or rent a firearm in any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes. [18 U.S.C. 922(a)(3) and (5), 922((3), 27 CFR 478.29 and 478.30]
  4. You can take the class if you are a member of GSSF. Don't know about the C&R though. Sorry.
  5. Oh, I called for permission. If the wife's not happy, no one is happy! She puts up with me and my expensive hobbies, so I try not to surprise her.
  6. Stopped in to NSA today just to browse. Owners were friendly as usual. A pocket pistol just happened to follow me home...
  7. Stopped in again today. The guys working the counter were super friendly. Prices were lower than the last time I was in - more in line with what I expect to pay retail. They did give me quite a good price on a used SW M&P.
  8. Sorry for your loss. Even when prepared, its tough to lose a loved one.
  9. Doesn't matter if its his father - transferring guns across state lines requires a FFL be involved.
  10. Any guns being transferred across state lines must involve a FFL. He can deliver/ship them to a FFL in TN, if they will take them from an individual, and they can do the transfer.
  11. Shouldn't happen in a shall issue state. I could see this happening in other states, with different laws.
  12. I'm not sure about this - since he is a legal resident of TN. The laws state that you must get a TN permit no later than 6 months after establishing residency. Kwik would probably pursue some legal actions related to this.
  13. Surely you've made more by now... I hope that SA is treating you well.
  14. I want the option to auto-renew on DaddyO's dime!
  15. Premium memberships are for either 6 months or 1 year. You have to renew your benefactor status. I'm not aware of a lifetime benefactor option ever since I've been on TGO.
  16. I'm offended that a liberal is running the country. There, I said it...
  17. Thanks for the heads up! I'll take a look over there in a few
  18. Nice Kimber! I've looked at the SIS models before and keep kicking myself for passing on the exact model you bought. I'm always keeping my eyes open for a 5" SIS as I've got the commander length covered now.
  19. I hope none of our TGO'ers in the Memphis area are affected by the flooding. After living through what happened in Nashville last summer, I wouldn't wish flooding on any community. We were only inconvenienced by the flood but neighbors just a 1/2 mile away got flooded. It can be devastating.
  20. Sigh... See post #18. They don't have to post the mall entrances if the parking lot entrances are posted. You can't legally get to the mall entrance without passing a sign if all the parking lot entrances are posted.
  21. Some people have way too much time on their hands... Hackers should apply their talents to something useful instead of destructive (or at least annoying).
  22. If you are a member of GSSA, you can take Glock's armorers classes.
  23. Suddenly, the site is loading much, much faster. Hopefully Tactical Republic gets their problems taken care of - I'm sure the revenue from their ads is very helpful when it comes to running TGO.
  24. I'm using Chrome but some refreshes are pretty slow. My browser shows that its waiting on content from tacticalrepublic.com - which provides the national ads, I believe. It may be caching the images for those ads that's causing the slowness.
  25. Try it sometime. I tried moving my head over to use my left eye but it never felt natural. Tilting the handgun made a huge difference in my accuracy. It is very natural for me.
