  1. Guys, the police check your car for it being stolen everytime you get pulled over and everytime a vigilant cop pulls up behind you and checks your tag. There was a gun related incident reported, so they checked the gun if it was stolen. I think the mall was unreasonable and I think you being reported to the police was unreasonable. But if I was an LEO and I pulled someone over, personally I would have been satisfied at the HCP, but they were being thorough.

I can easily see the cops checking for a HCP. But they had no reason (based on what's been presented here) to suspect the gun was stolen.

  2. Anyone want to chime in on the legality of LEO running his serial number? The stop and disarming is clearly allowed by TN law. Without probable cause to believe the pistol is stolen, running the serial number could be a 4th amendment violation. Can the police run the VIN to make sure your car isn't stolen on a simple traffic stop?

  3. I'm not sure why this is called Dolomite's Trigger Improvement kit; I understood this to be an en devour by his boss - Tulip. :tinfoil:

I received a kit on Thursday and just got around to installing it today. First and foremost, the kit does exactly what is advertised. It takes up almost all the pre-travel on your AR trigger. It is simple to install and does not permanently alter the firearm in any way. Instructions are simple and easy-to-follow.

Two thumbs up! I'll be ordering more for my upcoming AR builds.

  4. Actually, this part makes perfect sense. The trust is considered an entity in and of itself. Look at the trust like a company. You are an employee with access to the company tools. However, the company doesn't own you so they don't own your tools. If the company wants full access to your tools, they need to buy them from you.

    Make sense?

Oh, I understand the legal aspect of it: the trust is a different legal entity than the person. However, moving ownership of items from an individual to a trust (that the individual is part of) seems to be a special case they could/should handle differently. Its a different situation (in reality, not legality) than me transferring ownership to you.

Of course, its a way for the government to make more $$$.

  5. I also used Chip Cain (another TGO vendor) for my trust. It was a painless process and well worth the expense, IMO.

If you go the trust route, I'd recommend one of the TGO vendors that provide legal services. They not only deal with firearms in their legal practice but also participate in TGO and are personally involved with firearms. They can provide you both the lawyer and the gun owner viewpoints.

  6. Good guess Trekbike, the location was down River Road. I don't know the specifics - my wife and I actually drove down RR a bit yesterday to see if we could spot the location.

It doesn't take too far down that way to get 'out of the city'. Most of the neighbors in any other direction would have serious problems with a range!

  7. The Corps of Engineers published flood maps a couple of years ago. They show the predicted flooding based on the severity of dam failure. The maps show severe flooding downtown and all along the Cumberland.

I would suggest looking at the flood maps (the had them at the downtown library - they may be online now) and see if your area would be affected.
