  1. We've won the battle - but the war ain't over by a long shot!
  2.   Sounds like we should provide a good an awesome bottle of Bourbon for the effort!
  3.   If you have a HCP, I'm afraid you are already on a list of people to be visited if confiscation happens.

    OUCH!

    Garand thumb... AR15 finger?
  5. Gold anodizing or a hello kitty theme?   300BLK is what I'm considering. I've already got a .458.
  6. Do we have to pay David a licensing fee?    I'll take two.
  7.   The wife and I have a Southerland and love it. We picked it out of the crowd based on feel, quality, warrantee, etc. It was just a bonus that it was made in TN.
  8. One of my favorites: http://www.blackouttees.com/design/642+iPAC. I always get some good comments when I wear mine.   Spent today in my Sig Sauer tshirt. People notice that one too...
  9. I'd look for an intermediate pistol course. Many of them will focus on things such as concealed carry, drawing from concealment, and running your handgun. How to handle stoppages and reloading (the gun, not ammunition) should be covered. You will have less classroom time and more time on the range. Expect to shoot several hundred rounds of ammo.
  10. The NRA basic pistol course is very similar to the TN HCP course.
  11. Got mine today. Thanks David.
  12. An individual can't legally ship a handgun via USPS. From the ATF's FAQ (http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unlicensed-persons.html): Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm through the U.S. Postal Service? A nonlicensee may not transfer a firearm to a non-licensed resident of another State. A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. The Postal Service recommends that long guns be sent by registered mail and that no marking of any kind which would indicate the nature of the contents be placed on the outside of any parcel containing firearms. Handguns are not mailable. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. [18 U.S.C. 1715, 922(a)(3), 922(a)(5) and 922 (a)(2)(A)]
  13. The lower is, legally speaking, the handgun. I'm pretty sure all handguns have to be sent via "contract carrier" (e.g. UPS or FedEx). Ten ring's comment that it is only "gun parts" so it can be sent USPS seems like it could be very bad advice.
  14. I'd definitely be interested in getting together over coffee. Caffeine and gun nuts - my type of combination!
  15. It's been awhile, but I have installed one. What can I do to help?
  16. Saw a 420 rd can of Federal 5.56 green tip on stripper clips for only $499.99...
  17. Face to face is only legal if both parties are residents of the same state (and the transfer must happen in the state of residence).
  18. I threw an APEX trigger kit in one - it made a huge difference in the trigger. Nice gun, BTW!

    Ammo

I've shot ammo from 1938. It always went bang...
  20. Woo hoo! Congrats!
  21. HCP is actually on the state published list of acceptable ID types.
  22. Used mine to vote yesterday - no drama. No different than using my DL.
  23. Voted this morning in Bellevue - wife and I had about a 2 minute wait.
  24. The M&P trigger and reset can be greatly improved with the upgrades from Apex. It's more $ but the trigger gets much better. R1100R, I've got a M&P compact you need to shoot. It might change your mind about the M&P. A good friend of mine asks me not to bring it around cause its too tempting...
