What kind of idiot shoots firefighters while trying to do their job.  When they are caught they should be literally burned at the stake.  These kinds of idiots endanger the gun owning rights of the majority of gun owners who obey the law and don't bother anyone unless threatened or attacked

How about a list of all people who drink and own drivers licenses.  I probably have a better chance of being killed by one of them.

All this is interesting.  The President of the NRA was on Face the Nation today.  Bob (the idiot) would ask him a question and before he could finish answering it Bob would start trying to talk over him.  He did it again and again.  I would have slapped that old man silly if I could.  I'm really getting tired of these liberal commentators who love interupting people and talking over them.  Some interesting facts were brought out in the conversation.  There was a previous ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines.  When it expired the F.B.I. and other federal officials admitted it really hadn't changed anything so it wasn't reeinstated.  Bob Siefer said at the beginning of the show he had gotten a double barrel shotgun when he was 12.  I suppose that was to make us believe he is a gun expert.  Later in the show he made it quite obvious he doesn't understand the difference between automatic and semi-automatic where guns are concerned.  I have a friend who is the range officer for a small town in Tennessee.  He recently told me that it is their policy today to carry either a patrol rifle or shotgun in instances where it is believed there will be a confrontation.  The sidearm is simply viewed as a backup weapon.  When we are protecting our own homes from assault, why are we viewed as evil if we employ the same thought process?  How often does a police officer get in a shootout with 4 or 5 or more individuals at the same time?  Today some home breakins employ 4 or more individuals.  Bloomberg says he will dedicate much of his wealth to fight against gun ownership.  Will he also dismiss his bodyguards?  Will any of these big shots in government who say we don't need weapons dismiss their bodyguards?  Are our families well being less important than theirs?  Remember the shooter at Newtown purposely chose defenseless individuals to attack.  He was a coward.  When he heard help breaking into the school he shot himself.  People can't seem to understand that when a person decides to hurt other people he will.  If guns aren't available to him he can become a suicide bomber or use a molotov cocktail or many other makeshift weapons to kill.  Terrorists in Africa have attacked people with machetes and hacked people to death.  There was a school bombing in 1927 in Michigan which took more lives than were lost in Newtown.  One problem is all these Federal Privacy Laws.  When a person is found mentally ill his name isn't added to the state list of folks who shouldn't be able to buy weapons.  That would violate his rights.  What about the rights of the innocent.  It seems that in America today the honest law abiding citizen who works every day and pays taxes and helps keep all this going has no rights while the criminal has many rights.  They don't want a Bible in school while T-shirts promoting gay rights are O.K.  I guess I'm just too old.  I remember when things were different.  When folks respected their parents and other elders.  When folks tried to do the right thing simply because it was right.  The liberal news media hasn't helped things either.  It would be better when they talk about guns if they would use reporters who actually know something about guns.  How would you like to watch a football game where the live action comentators knew nothing about football?  Well that's the way I usually feel when these folks start talking about assault weapons.  Do any of you know of any country any where in the world today where the military uses semi-automatic weapons instead of select fire weapons?  I don't.

Yours is an interesting story and I'm sure it's true. That said I've been in Industrial sales since 1986 calling all all sorts of businesses. Most businesses today don't allow their own employees to bring a gun onto company property, so they would be even less tolerant of me a vendor carrying on their premises. I've got plenty of customers that I have fished with and some I have hunted with. They have guns just as I do but because I want to maintain our business relationship and I don't want to get them in trouble either, I don't carry on their premises. You might say It's kind of a respect thing. Respect of the customer and respect of the law. If a company has a policy which forbids weapons on their premises and I bring one anyway, I am liable to lose my weapon and my carry permit. We fought too long in this state to get our carry permits for me to put mine in peril.

I have a Crossfire kydex holster made by Crossfire Holsters that I carry my 9c in and love it. The maker is an undercover police officer in Florida. He's a great guy to do business with and very reasonable. In fact I have 3 of his holsters.

Had a Glock 21 & 30SF but I prefer my S&W M&P 45 fs with the ambi external manual safety.

Caster you are really reaching. I'm sure your family is very important. The verdict is still out on you though. lol

I have a M&P Compact and had a G27. I followed the recommendations in Mr. Burwells video on doing trigger jobs on an M&P. All I did was modify the sear and polish some of the other parts. This thing has a great trigger and I wouldn't trade it for two G27s.

I have 3 M&P pistols a 45fs, a 9c & a 40 Shield. I followed Burwell's instructions and modified the sears in all of them and polished the trigger bars in each of them as well. I would rather have any of them than the Glocks I have had in the past. I have had a G21, G30sf, and G27. I didn't like the trigger in any of them and reworked the trigger in the G30sf & G27 and also recontured the polymer frame to get rid of the hideous hook in the triggerguard and slightly relieve the rear of it to enable a higher hold. Despite all that work, they were still Glocks and I got rid of all of them. I actually prefer the sear design of the M&P to the cruciform sear in the Glock.

I'm not exactly sure what kind of toilet you are making reference to. My toilet is a much simpler mechanism than a semi automatic pistol. I suspect your toliet isn't working properly as you seem to be trying to smear left over redidue from it onto this thread.

Try a Crossfire Holster. It is made of Kydex and only costs $40. There are 2 basic designs. The original design uses two pieces of kydex and you can pick different colors of kydex for the front and the back piece if you choose. The newest model is made from one piece of kydex and is even smaller than the original design. Randy is an undercover police officer in Florida and carries every day while on duty. Many of his fellow officers also carry his holsters. The newest holster is called the Slimline Tactical. I bounced some ideas off Randy and this design is the result. I carry my 40 Shield in it and love it. I also have a Garret Industries Silent Thunder for the Shield. It cost more than twice the price and I don't find it as comfortable to carry as the Slimline Tactical. The Silent Thunder now resides in a drawer.

I recently colaborated with Randy at Crossfire holsters and he made me a modified Slimline holster that is a wrap around design using one piece of kydex. It is hands down better than my Garrett Industries Silent Thunder holster which costs twice as much. If you are looking for a reasonably priced well designed holster for your Shield, you don't really need to look any farther than Randy. He is an undercover police officer who carries concealed daily in his job. The holster business is a side thing with him. His lead times are short and if you have some ideas of your own as I did, he will work with you.

If price is your main concern, MICs are definitely cheap. They do cover the triggerguard but don't really stabilize the weapon all that well. I know I have had a couple of them for Glocks. (wash-out mouth)

If one looks at my HCP card it seems to show my name as John David Nowlin III which is my full name. John David Nowlin was my grandfather and he is in a cemetary in Memphis. John David Nowlin Jr. is in a cemetary in Mississippi. That would leave the other one as my son. I bet you can guess what his name is.

Actually the design they sent me had some good ideas and some bad. I modified it and made it a good holster. I talked with Thomas about all this and sent him 5 pictures of the holster as modified. He didn't agree with one of the modifications that I feel strongly about. Mine will stay modified. In fact I modified my Silent Thunder as well. I don't like the attachment clip mounted directly above the slide as it makes the overall holster too thick. I like to have the mounting screws just below the triggerguard. The profile at this point is thinner and allows the holster to be easier to conceal. Crossfire holsters is another good choice if he has one for the Shield by now. I have his holsters for my M&P 9c & 45fs. The guy who owns the company is an undercover Police Officer who uses his products daily.

I have had my permit for years but didn't find my name. That hurts my feelings.

I recently bought a Garrett Industries Silent Thunder IWB. It is a really well made leather lined kydex holster. I received it in about 2 weeks. I also have a prototype kydex holster made for me by Old Faithful that I like. It is all kydex with a metal clip. Hopefully they will market it soon.

Actually, I traded my P238 and got a .40 Shield and am very pleased. I would do the same thing again. I'm just not a fan of the .380 caliber. I reload most of the ammo I shoot. I dare say that even though the P238 is a pretty accurate weapon for it's size, it just won't match the Shield. I did a little work on the sear in my Shield and it has a very good trigger pull. It is better than my M&P 9c or my M&P .45fs. It carries very well in an IWB Kydex or Kydex Hybrid holster. I have a Silent Thunder and an Old Faithful prototype for it. They both work very well. I bet those of you who are knocking the Shield probably haven't shot one and certainly don't own one. To me that's like a celibate giving sexual advice. You shouldn't give advice about something you haven't done. Another nice thing about it is that it has a thumb safety as do all my M&Ps.

So far I am thrilled with mine. It has performed flawlessly. The only bad thing has been that the white dot in the front sight jumped ship in the first 5 rounds fired in the pistol. That has been replaced with a Trijicon front sight with a red ring around it made by Ameriglo.

You're probably bald too, aren't you. LOL I'm old but I'm not ancient and not opposed to new and better technology. While I like 1911s, I don't like the government size. I prefer the commander and officer size platforms for CC and the officer size just isn't as reliable. The M&P Compacts are very reliable. Pretty guns that don't always work are probably more dangerous to me than the BG and that's not a good thing. Now back to the subject at hand. Glocks rusting. I met a Sherrifs Deputy who lives around Mobile and he showed me his G27. It had much of it's finish gone and he said he was going to get it cerrokoted. He said a lot of the officers down there do that due to the salty environment. He said the Glock finish just doesn't hold up down there. The M&P has a stainless slide with a melonite finish but it can still rust. Let's face it fellas, the last water proof gun you had was a water pistol.

Yes, and those who carry M&Ps, have even better morals. I use to carry a 1911 then I progressed through Glocks and on to M&Ps. Now I am on top of the mountain.

The bad guy doesn't care how many rounds miss his target and hurt others. He doesn't care if he is sued because he hurts multiple people. That's him, now for us. We are responsible for every single round we fire. If I hurt several innocent bystanders while trying to stop the threat from the bad guy, I will have to answer in court for those unintended injuries. You and I need to train to make EVERY shot count. We don't need to simply pull the trigger as fast as we can without worrying where the bullets go. Some cops do enough of that and they are supposed to be trained. A Memphis cop told me an interesting story years ago. He and his partner answered a call to a bank robbery. When they got there one of the cops chased the robber down an inside hallway of the building shooting at him and all the while the robber was running and shooting back at him. Thankfully the cops partner ran back to the squad and got a shotgun. He cut the robber off and he surrendered after seeing the shotgun. The cop chasing him with the pistol had emptied his duty weapon without hitting anyone and the robber had emptied his with the same result. Sadly the advent of the wondernine seems to have created a situation where marksmanship doesn't seem as important as it once did. A cop carryinga 5 or 6 shot revolver didn't shoot as recklessly as he didn't want to be caught with an empty gun. If you teach a kid to deer hunt with a semiautomatic rifle he tends to shoot until the deer drops. If you teach him with a bolt action rifle he learns to make each shot count. The first few deer my oldest son killed were shot 3 or more times. When I examined the deer, it was clear that each shot had been a kill shot, he simply hadn't given the deer time to fall. We can legally kill a deer. In self defense confrontations with humans, the rules change. We can legally shoot to defend ourselves, but we must quit shooting when the threat ends. We can't legally execute the bad guy. A Shield with a spare mag should be more than adequate. We are required to use common sense even though it isn't common. If I go out of my way to find a fight by going places I know I shouldn't go and have no real reason to be there and end up in a gunfight, that's my fault. I'm not racist but know that as a white man there are places in Memphis I shouldn't go very late at night, in fact black cops don't want to go some of those places at certain times of night either. If we use our God given intelligence and stay away from places we know we shouldn't go to, our risk for a confrontation greately decrease. It is still possible to end up in a pickle when all due caution has been observed, therefore I chose to get a carry permit and I carry.
