  1.   I don't see a frozen alien in that picture.    On a serious note: Just wow, she looks hot.  :)
  2.   I'm not a lawyer, but to me that reads like a business can't be sued because they do allow weapons on the property. It limits the liability to those cases where a business does restrict weapons (by posting) and bad stuff happens. If a business is posted and a shooter causes damage or harm, it's open to be sued (presumably by those denied to bring their defensive weapons on property). But if a business is not posted and a shooter causes damage or harm, then it can not be held liable because it didn't restrict weapons by posting.

  4. Looks like it got removed from the House after yesterdays failure to garner support in the Senate?   Voting results are in:   SB1483 by Green - SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE:  Failed in Senate Judiciary Committee 3/8/2016  Failed           Ayes................................................4           Noes................................................4           Present and not voting...................1           Senators voting aye were: Roberts, Kelsey, Bowling, Bell -- 4.           Senators voting no were: Stevens, Overbey, Kyle, Harris -- 4.           Senators present and not voting were: Gardenhire -- 1.
  5. That's some bang for the bucks. I mean, bang for the money. I mean, bang from the money.
  6.   I think we need a pinned thread/topic on this forum where we can post deals like that when we see them. What are your thoughts, admins?
  7.   Pics or it didn't happen.   :D     Edit: Sorry, just saw that those were for your Glock. The thread has pics for a Glock already. I thought of CZ's, and was curious about a picture of them. Got you mixed up with CZ guys. Sorry! :)
  8. Looks like the bill did not make it through the Senate Judiciary Committee.  http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB1483
  9. About 10 years ago, when I had a Mini Cooper, I was surprised by how fuel efficient they were, despite having... uhm... a heavy foot. Mid-40's if I recall correctly. And fun to drive.
  10.   All depends on price, availability and if I need to order other stuff. I use both CheaperThanDirt as well as Target Sport USA.
  11.   If you got a call for boxes of free ammo, wouldn't your department respond as well? ("Stand back folks! Hey Bill, grab these and put them in our locker.")   :D
  12. "It"....  :waiting:
  13.   Offer extended 5 more days.
  14. Same here. I don't know if I should "Like" your post or not. I don't like your painful experience, but I do like the way you wrote it! Well, there it goes... liked. Don't think less of me.
  15. All I got so far is that there was an alien called Jenny in a box....
  16.   Of course the kids were taught. The video was made to show how badly some lock-boxes are designed, where jiggling/dropping it will defeat the locking mechanism. Or a simple insertion of a tool/straw/whatever will cause the lock to open, bypassing the supper-duper fingerprint scanner, etc. It demonstrates the "so easy a child can do it" quite literally. :)   The video was not intended to show how clever kids are. It was intended to show how poorly some lock-boxes are designed and/or built.   I also have three lock-boxes, and no kid will get in there. I'm not able to get into two of them (without being really destructive), the other seems to be riggable. The two good ones are are heavy steel with simplex lock. The other is a bit thinner steel, has a digital lock as well as a lame key-lock (4-pin round lock, apparently cut to 1-2-1-1).   The point is: There are lock-boxes sold that can be opened by children. In case a child gets a gun out and shots self or siblings, I would assume having that lock-box will at least still count as a defense in the proposed bill.
  17.   Absolutely. I hope gun owning parents will watch this video, and read this article.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erGOJxQIf5c     But that doesn't apply to all lock-boxes, just the bad ones. You just have to do careful research to avoid the bad ones.
  18.   Apparently. From the CNN article:   "The little boy said he wanted to pet the puppies and they said no and kind of laughed and giggled a little bit. That's when he pointed a BB gun at them," neighbor Wayne Joslin told CNN in October. "He'd misfired or something. Then he threw it down and that's when he went and got the shotgun," Joslin said.   Sounds to me like he knew full well what was going to happen. He tried the BB gun. It failed. So he got the shotgun. I doubt the story of him handing it to his buddy that took the fatal shot.
  19.   Well, no need to read further. You're already guilty of a class A misdemeanor! Turn yourself in, sir.
  20. Our postal carrier closes our mailbox every time.... except when it rains or during strong winds.   :waiting:
  21.   Yes, any new guns are sold with locks from the manufacturer, trigger lock or those you slide through the barrel, etc. That's not what I mean though. I'm talking about having some neat safety devices and lockboxes on display to showcase and hopefully gather interest, and to actually making it part of the conversation. For example, "congrats, enjoy your new Ruger. BTW: If you have kids how do you intend to keep the gun safe? We got these nifty little lockboxes..."  etc.   This law claims to prevent death by scaring gun owners. Well, it doesn't prevent death, it punishes death. Prevention involves more than punishment after the fact. As other said, there are already existing laws that can be applied.   The fact that a reactive punishment is proposed rather than a proactive solution (like the requirement of locks to be sold with new guns) means to me that the proposer of this law cares less about children safety and more about "gun punishment".   I don't know, maybe I'm thinking about this wrong. (my mind is weird sometimes). We tend to avoid hard proactive solutions in favor of easier reactive solutions, but pat ourselves on the back for doing something.
  22. I don't know. I'm all for incentives for gun safety, but a crime? Imagine a parent practicing good gun safety, but screwing up just once, and the child dies as a result of finding the gun. Not only has the parent to live with that guilt for the rest of her/his life, on top of that he/she is getting punished and sent to prison? Possibly leaving another child without parental care?   I think we need more gun safety education and awareness, not punishment. The loss of the child will be punishment enough.   If there is a gun owner that is a parent, and can not afford a lockbox or safe for his/her firearm, I'd be happy to purchase one for them. But really... if you can afford a gun, and can afford ammunition, you should be able to afford a couple hundred dollar safety lockbox.   Perhaps safety/lockboxes should be more visible in gun stores, and gun store staff should recommend one to a new gun owner. Everyone of us can do our part as well, like talking about safety when we're in a chat with a new gun owner at a store or range.
  23. I think it's a great idea. Once the ammo is spent, you have miniature nunchucks! Or, if you make the rope longer, and perhaps use piano wire, you now have a garrote! Your pistol has become multi-weapon tool!   :D
  24.   That's what I mean when I wrote my angry one-liner. Anyone beating on the elderly, women, children, frail, sick, handicapped are such deprived, soul-less bags of dirt that have no chance of being rehabilitated. I can understand anger, but once he confronted Bobby, any last bit of remaining morals should have caused him to pause. Apparently that wasn't the case. Total lack of self-control, total lack of morals, total lack of anything that makes humans human. May he rot in prison for the rest of his pathetic life.   My condolences to Bobby's family.
