  1. Looks like the Sandstone Bridge in Kentucky.
  2. Same here. I'm looking for a Griffin Armament Revolution 9. So far no luck. One of the area dealers has some on order... for a while... but no word when they would ship/transfer. I was hoping to get Form 4 in before July, but it doesn't seem likely. So with availability, longer Form 4 processing after July, I would appears I may get a suppressor Q3 next year.    If anyone has any suggestions on where to source a Rev9 from, that would be appreciated. I called the local shops, PM'ed a couple vendors here (one replied), talked to Silencershop. I'll be be on the phones tomorrow and will widen my search area statewide.
  3. Glad it went well. Hope you get better soon.
  4. Is procreation a survival skill?
  5.   I see pre-crime has arrived.
  6. " taking the pistol from the man’s back pocket"  <-- There's the problem. Doesn't necessarily mean OC. Could be just badly concealed.
  7. Back in the days, on another forum David ran, we had a thread called "Video of the Day". (Or Youtube of the Day? Don't remember exactly). It was a thread where folks could share great videos they came across on Youtube or elsewhere. I'm not sure if this will work here, since often there is a considerable discussion following posted videos. I searched the forum for "video" and "youtube" and got no results. So I thought I'd give this a try. Here is neat video I just came across. While I can't attest to accuracy, historical or otherwise, what surprised me was how many different guns, machine guns and machine pistols were featured in this one video. They were presented in a rapid fire succession (pun intended ). While this may not be anything new for most of you, you might enjoy it simply for the amount of guns featured. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fav8g4Mwlx4
  8. Yup, did exactly that while you were replying.   :)  Thanks!
  9.   That was the kind of reply I was hoping for, thanks! Good point on the bedroom (leaving the "security" of the bedroom to investigate). I understand that ones house is treated as one (not subdivided into rooms), but I wasn't sure about detached structures (shed, etc). It sounds like all dwellings on ones property are considered under the law as one (one castle so to speak). So much for the shed scenario.   I guess that leaves the car port (or other areas immediately outside of a dwelling, like a front porch) for consideration. Since the aggressor didn't enter, the presumption of fear of death doesn't seem to apply. However, it sounds like it is still legal to confront, and one can use deadly force if the situation escalates into fear of death. It sounds then that the fear of death may need to be proven as it's not automatically applied as is in the case of entry. In other words, there seems to be a gray area where we are at the discretion of the DA, rather than having a legal footing due to preexisting case law.   Anyway, thanks for your reply!   Edit: Never mind. Re-reading previous post seem to clarify some things, like the front porch. And it looks like I missed some other interesting posts.
  10.   I understand the absence of the requirement to retreat, as well as stand-your-ground. I'm just curious how an advance (to confront the threat) would be treated. (staying with the example that you are in safety, for example your home, and are moving to another area, say the shed mentioned previously, or car port). If you are unaware of the threat, it seems clear that you can advance and investigate the shed. But if you know, or opposing attorney can spin it such that you should have known that there is a lethal threat, how would that play out in court? (assuming it went to trial)   "Sir, you claim you were in fear of your life, yet you entered the shed knowing that the burglar was in there and shot the deceased without allowing him to escape. Your honor, this is not a case of justifiable homicide, this is premeditated murder!"
  11. But if you have fear of death or grave bodily harm, because you know or strongly suspect that a threat is present in shed/garage/whatever-structure, you wouldn't be entering said structure, would you? If you willfully enter it, knowing there is a threat, how can you still be considered "in fear for your life"?
  12. I'm so sorry for your loss. Sincere condolences to you and your family.
  13. That's not a rifle, that's a supreme piece of fine art! The amount of labor, dedication and excellence of craftsmanship in that rifle is priceless.
  14. You can't compare a Jeep to regular car or SUV. They just don't stack up, because it isn't a car or SUV. It's a Jeep. Something will break sooner or later, though hopefully not from the factory. It will rattle, it will be dirty, it will be less comfortable, it will bounce around, and I love every minute of it. :) If you're looking for a car you can't or don't want to maintain yourself, a Jeep is not for you. Being able to turn a wrench is almost a must with Jeeps. It's a lifestyle question whether you are ready for a Jeep or not. :)
  15.   Exactly.   I bought my Jeep in 2011 in Columbia. The wife of one of my employees was working there at the time. I was working with Will Harrison on finding the Jeep I wanted. (I was initially looking at a tan Sahara, found one in Mississippi, but it was already in negotiation. The buyer finally came through with the downpayment and I had to start looking again). We found a tan 2-door Mojave edition on a lot in Atlanta in the configuration I wanted. Columbia did a dealer trade with the dealership in Atlanta and got the Jeep up here free of charge. I completed negotiations, paperwork and drove it off the lot here. I loved the Jeep from the moment I saw it on the lot.   That love turned sour about 3 weeks later when the manual transmission disintegrated on the Interstate. I called Chrysler and had it towed back to Columbia. There the guys found the transmission to be nearly dry. It turned out that the dealer in Atlanta apparently did not perform the required dealer inspection upon receipt of the vehicle from the factory. So the guys here replaced the transmission, performed the inspection and checked the vehicle out, including all fluid levels.   It checked out fine and I took it back home. I had no major issues with the vehicle since (except the usual minor things Jeeps are known for, and some... ahem... off-road induced damage).   Everything was done and fixed for free, including towing. New Jeeps already come with 4 or so free oil changes.   Stuff happens, and I thought Columbia treated me fairly. Should you expect a new vehicle to be free of faults? Of course, any new equipment should be fault free. But again, stuff happens. And if dealers don't do their job inspecting vehicles when they receive them, all kinds of things can go wrong quickly. That's squarely the problem with a dealership and their lack of care. In other words, a lot depends on people doing their job properly. Sadly, quality or service is often where folks take shortcuts.
  16. Someone please propose a $5000 tax on democrats. No worries, their opinions and rights won't be suppressed or infringed. It's just an excise tax on liberalism.    In other news, the great war of independence of the Mariana Islands started 2016 over the unjust taxation of goods usually untaxed in the continental US. The event known as the Saipan Gun Party started the evening of....
  17.   I guess those free TV's are to replace your TV that has been taken by looters? They should hand out free guns instead. Oh wait, a Demorat town. It's where police go collect your guns instead of rounding up looters, where law abiding citizens get disarmed instead of the criminals.   Never forget Katrina.
  18. I'm very sorry for you loss. While Axl is in a better place now (as people say), he is and will always be with you. There is something very special about that bond, the love, between a pet and a human.   We don't have kids, so our cats are like kids to us (currently two). We had to put three to sleep over the years (Ernie made it to almost 20), but none hit me as hard as my Minka two years ago (aggressive, large cell lymphoma at age 11). I was a wreck for a week, but found solace. Nothing is worse than seeing a loved one suffer like that. I would have done and paid anything if it could have saved her. While it was a tough decision, it was the right one. But she'll always be with us. The memories may fog a bit over time, but that love, that special bond you feel, will always be there and remind you of your special friend.   May you manage your grief quickly and find solace soon.
  19. Way to go, douche bag. Not just stealing valor, but also managed to make his employees jobless. When you run a business, it's not just about you and your profits. You're providing a home for your employees, a place for them to mature, advance, prosper and grow professionally and personally. You are responsible for your employees like your family. Your action and demeanor affects everyone in your business. What a selfish &@%&$... I guess that shows what a person he really is.
  20. Good thing that can't happen here. If a SWAT team member is caught in a mirror like that, it's rather harmless.... TAWS.   Imagine we had named them Tactical And Weapon Team. That would be awkward in a mirror... :)
  21. Just a heads-up if you are waiting for the new Scorpions Evo's to arrive. It looks like the 2016 shipment is starting to trickle in. KY GunCo shows the Evo in stock. Just placed my order a few moments ago. (I plan on SBR'ing it). According to a post on czfirearms.us, they are dated 2016 and have the welded trigger group screw, so it's not old stock.
  22. Wouldn't calling campus police/security have been more appropriate?
  23. Good grief. I'm so sorry. I hope everyone (including pets) made it out okay.
  24.   That could also mean that the authorities "took note of" or "written down" the serial numbers. Reads just like they "registered" the serial numbers. Doesn't necessarily mean that the guns and vehicles had already been on record.
  25. http://news10.com/2016/03/28/police-nashville-man-shot-after-drawing-pellet-gun-at-us-capitol/   My favorite part: "News 2 did some digging and found Dawson’s address in Antioch is the same for St. Luke’s Community Church, whose website lists Dawson as the pastor. Neighbors told News 2 they don’t know of any actual church..."   Someone pinch me please...
