    My new CZ

    Nice looking gun.  Enjoy it!
  3. Very nice.  Congrats!
  4. I wouldn't buy a riffle from someone who can't even spell it.   :shake:
  5. Thanks, guys.       I know what you mean about the size, but I'm a pretty big guy so it's not too much of an issue.  My regular EDC for many years has been a Glock 33.  I concealed a Glock 21 with a Galco King Tuk holster for a good while, and always enjoyed carrying a full-size gun.  The trouble with that was when the business end of the slide started wearing holes in my pants, probably from wearing it so much while driving.  That's why I opted for a full-size frame with the shorter barrel on this one.  And the 9mm is for affordability of practice ammo.  Either way, I'll try this one for a little bit and go another way if it doesn't work out.
  6. This time it was an XD(M) 3.8" full-size 9mm with night sights. I've been thinking about a new EDC gun for some time now and this one has been looking just right. I wanted a full-size frame/grip with a somewhat short slide and no finger grooves. The 19+1 capacity is tough to beat in pistol this size, and it looks like Springfield has a pretty good sale going on extra mags right now. Any of you have much experience with this gun? What are your thoughts on it? Edit: It looks like the sale at SA has ended...
  7. Good conversation in here, guys. Just thought I'd share a pic. The replacement came in on Thursday and she's a beauty. Carter's and Bud's were both great to deal with on this transaction. This is my second order from Bud's. They were quick and professional, and gave me no hassle at all about getting a replacement shipped in a hurry.
  8.     Long time bass player here... That's funny stuff!
  9.   Do you know what went wrong with yours?
  10. Thanks, guys.  I'm still really looking forward to it.  This is just a minor setback.
  11.     Thanks, that's good to know.  I've been collecting guns for quite a few years now, but my revolver experience is pretty limited.
  12. Hi all.  So I stopped by Carter's Shooting Supply this evening to pick up a S&W 500 Mag that I ordered from Bud's over the weekend.  We opened up the case and there it was in all its glory.  First thing, I tried to open the cylinder for a safety check.  That was when things went downhill.  The gun was frozen up like the cylinder had been welded in place.  I wasn't too familiar with the internal lock on S&W revolvers, so we got one out of the display case for comparison and determined that there was definitely an issue with the gun.  Trigger wouldn't pull, hammer would cock, and the cylinder release wouldn't move...  Anyway, three of us worked at it for a little while, but never could get the thing to open or turn.  The guys at Carter's were very friendly and tried to help, but there wasn't much that could be done without potentially making the gun unreturnable.  I called Bud's and they are going to send a return shipping label to Carter's and get a replacement gun on the way.     I'm guessing this sort of thing has probably happened before, but I haven't done the research just yet.  So yeah... I'm not too upset, just disappointed and thought I'd vent a little.   Thanks for reading.   :-\
  13. Another recall from Remington?  Wow.  I think the 887 is a great looking shotgun, but from what I've heard the appearance may be its best quality.
  14. Mine's back too, after nearly 11 weeks.  It went in for the trigger recall and for failure to extract after having only fired about one box of ammo since new.  The repair ticket says they found the issues (trigger and extraction) and the gun was "returned to factory specifications."  I guess the factory specification didn't include a functioning rifle because it still won't extract from the chamber.     Freaking ridiculous...  I guess I'll be back on the phone with them tomorrow.
