I can't site law at the moment, but it is not illegal to sell and profit from the occasional firearm. After all if you bought a pistol at market price and 10 years later decided to sell it and market price had increased $200 would you sell for less than market value?

A straw purchase occurs when one legally purchases a firearm with the purpose to transfer it to one who is not legally permitted to purchase a firearm. So, if you buy one for a convicted felon it's a straw purchase. If you buy one and give it to your sweet mother (a non-felon)you're good to go.

Haven't we always lived in a "global 24 hour world"? And what does that have to do with four more months of DST? Parts of the world observe DST and many parts don't.

This has been my wife's idea for a long time. You must be a smart guy, cause she's never wrong. :)

Opinion? Here's mine: if we keep DST year round, do you want sunrise in late Dec. at 8am? That means your children and grandchildren go to school in the dark. I say do away with DST altogether. If you want to do something in that extra hour you need, get up an hour earlier and go for it. DST has never "saved" anything, much less time. This is my idea, most likely no one else's. Have at it.

No argument about the statutes Bert, they are there. My point is the enforcement of them. In my neck of the woods there are pictures in the newspaper every summer of large dead rattlesnakes, who killed it and where. And to my knowledge not one has ever been prosecuted. Most people that see a rattler or cottonmouth in their yard, the place where their children or grandchildren play, don't call a licensed nuisance wildlife wrangler.

It's legal to kill a snake if you're threatened by it. YMMV...

And to muddy the water further, the opposite is true of .308 and 7.62X51...

I flew out of BNA last week on Southwest. I was given a pre-check boarding pass not even knowing it. Return flight out of Ontario, CA same thing. How did I get this if I didn't apply or pay? It was was really nice to sail through security.

Some of you had to send a Taurus back? Every brand occasionally has to go back. I had to send a new $800 Sig back for some "adjustment". No harm, no foul; they are mechanical devices after all. That being said I really have my eye on a Taurus Judge magnum!

300 rounds a month is just 10 rounds a day. We've gone thru more than 300 rounds on a Sunday afternoon. And, that's in the back yard BTW.

OK, one more option. Mossberg 702 Plinkster. It's in the lower end of the price range and it's fairly reliable.
