  1. Don't know about 3-gun but.... I was told yesterday that Dan Cignarale will be their match director for IDPA. Dan is a master class shooter and has shot for some time now in Cleveland. He knows his stuff and is a great guy. If Dan is any indication as to the kind of folks they are putting in leadership spots at Dead Zero, it would be well worth your time to try them out. I plan to when I can and it's a 90 min drive for me.
  2. Don't forget; Oak Ridge is doing the IDPA Tennessee State Match again this year in June. I'm looking forward to the Memphis Match too!
  3. I was all in for Saturday but can't make it Sunday. Al
  4. Thanks! I'll be there. I hope the "600 rounds" is sarcasm.
  5. IDPA this Sat? Start time 10:00am? Where is JCoop?
  6. I'm in!... unless something unforeseen comes up. Al
  7. I'm all in for this one. The bonus day w/ shooting, FOF, and "ditch medicine" is too good to pass up! Al
  8. Great! I'll be there. Looking forward to the low light shooting. Al
  9. Will there be a match on Wed night and will there be low light stages??
  10. Does anyone know if there is to be an IDPA match in Manchester on Sunday?
  11. Not to hijack (but I guess I might be) but... does anyone know if Meprolight FT Bullseye sights would be IDPA legal. I can't tell based on the ambiguously written rules and am afraid getting an answer from Arkansas is all but impossible.
  12. Changing the rules every year is working out so well for the NFL, I can see why IDPA would do the same (sarcasm).
  13. If you're interested, go over to the truth about guns. They take a good look at this "study"; who did it and how, especially the predetermined "study group". If this is what passes for science these days, you can count me out. It's just more propaganda to try to marginalize gun owners. Go to a local gun match, doesn't matter what type, and you will see the lie for what it is. In the last 5 years or so the number of shooters at local matches has almost doubled (to include many new shooters). Is this anecdotal evidence? It sure is but it is based on actual observation and not some half-baked study done by people with a clear agenda. Believe what you will, most do. But this doesn't pass the smell test for me.
  14. I feel old now because I had a pretty good idea what this would be just from reading the thread title!
  15. Why help anyone track everything bought and sold? Will they tax air next? Cash is a good thing. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what we think. If the guy who wrote the article is right about corruption, terrorism, tax evasion, ect, who really thinks that ANYONE in gov't is going to seriously try to get rid of cash? Doing that might put most of them out of business.
  16. Joe, Can't make it tonight. Scratch me off the list, hopefully someone else will fill the spot. Al
  17. This is not a joke. I saw a commercial on TV for a home pregnancy test that would connect w/ a smart phone to give one the results. Technology for it's own sake is not progress. It makes (some) people more dependent than they already are (which is hard to imagine). Any parent who buys a "smart" gun thinking it will be safer is the same type person to leave the gun unsecured... and then sue the maker when a 12 year old proves smarter than the "parent". You can sell ice to Eskimos but don't pretend it's progress. Just call it what it is; butchering the sheep. You can get rich doing it, but it ain't a winner for the sheep.
  18. Cops are balking. I'd bet on the snowball in hell.
  19. No updates, Randy? It looks like we get an underwater CRG class! Al
  20. I'm in. Joe, is it OK to just bring a check to the match Wednesday night? Al
  21. As a side note: The only fatalities in North Hollywood were the two criminals. Even when starting behind the power curve, tactics (w/ a little luck) trump hardware. You have to use what you have. Use it w/ conviction and fight smart.
