Hey

Lets just hope you don't have amnesia.  You might have lived in the Chattanooga area only a few days.    Welcome!
5. You a fan and are you watching?   I still like olympic hockey.  I remember watching the 1980 USA win over the USSR.  My buddies and I used our roller skates and hockey sticks for weeks on the street to play our own version after this event 34 years ago.  Those were the days.
6. I have bought a few things from Centerfire before over the past few years.  They are legit.  Lets assume they have inventory at this great rate.
7. I wasn't looking for another 22, but like you said for a truck gun or a boat gun, I can't ignore this great deal.  I don't need another 22 mag, Lord knows that I have many of these.
8. My wife uses her 2008 Honda Odyssey.  She simple gets in it and drives to the family member's house, and then shows them how to fix their problem.  I usually foot the fuel bill though!   I know, I couldn't help myself!
9. I meant to post this the other day: http://centerfiresystems.com/GLOCK-22PTINSOF.aspx
10. I am suddenly finding I may have 2-3 hours to myself today.  Need a show report, is it worth the $6 house fee?  No real need to go, I would probably be just a tire kicker with no real intent to buy anything.
11. I don't shoot as often as I would like, but someday I hope to own a piece of property where I can have my own Hickok45 type outdoor shooting range compound.  Then I plan to shoot, shoot, and shoot some more.  In the mean time, I buy and stock and buy and stock.  Years ago, I started to acquire a box here and a box there, usually based upon a deal or I had nothing else to buy that day.  My original goal was to have 1,000 rounds of every center fire caliber I own in both pistol and rifle, and 10K+ of rim fire.  When my targets were met, I didn't stop, I just kept with my buying habit.  When Sandyhook occurred, though I was fully stocked, I couldn't buy any more ammo, and that made me troubled.  Then I got into reloading, and now have enough supplies to reload into the 1,000s if not 10,000s of all my center fire calibers.  I didn't want to touch my stash.   Why?  Because I don't have any lick of sense!  :screwy:   Bottom line I don't stock ammo for defense purposes or some future zombie engagement,   stock ammo for many reasons, but mainly because I believe there is a coming a day in my lifetime or my kids lifetime, ammo will be a scarce commodity.
12. I wish Cabelas and Bass Pro were like CVS and Walgreens.  Both are on the same corner of every neighborhood!
13. I haven't said this in awhile, and I know that I am not main stream, but this 22LR ammo thingy has not effected me one bit, in fact, I love to read about the 22LR ammo rants and on occasion participate in the threads, I find it all entertaining.  I was prepared before 2013, and I am still prepared now.  Now I have been tempted to cash in, but then I would be like the rest of you that got caught with your pants down.  When this thing is all over, slowly build you a 5 or 10+ year supply.   Don't buy ammo like tomorrow is the last day or I will probably never shoot again.  Honestly, my kids probably will not have to buy ammo either if you know what I mean.  I am not just talking 22LR either.
14. For work, I have to travel to Greenville, SC from time to time. The hotel that I normally stay in is within 1/2 mile of the Palmetto State Armory storefront, its a 1/4 mile from a well stocked Academy Sports, and this past week I saw the new Cabela's store that is going in. Its not open yet, but the signs are in place, and all lit up. I think they are going to open very soon, like March or April. Talk about a triangle of mega gun stores, that is it, all within a 1/4 mile of one another. Wish Knoxville had something like that. I don't like to business travel anymore, but this will change my mind (shhhh! don't tell the boss). I don't get to travel towards to Bristol, VA often, but I also understand that a new Cabela's store should open there in 2015. For our Nashville friends, I guess the closest store will be the new Bowling Green, KY set to open later this year in the Fall. And for our Chattanooga friends, you will have one on your door step in Acworth, GA, this coming Summer. Cabela's is really sinking a lot of capital in new stores. Cabelas did leave an impression with me. I have only been to one Cabelas before, up in Dundee, Michigan. I don't recollect any real great deals, but from the size and wonderful aesthetics, along with huge inventories, it truly is a great store if you like that sort of thing. The size was what blew me away, I believe one could literally fit 2, 3 or maybe 4 Bass Pro stores like the one in Sevierville in the Dundee store. I hope all of their new stores are just as huge and lavishing. Talk about museum quality displays of animals and scenery, it was just amazing. Then the gun room was off the charts with classic offerings of typical common guns and what I like to see, very high end pieces. I felt like I was under dressed when I walked in. I wish they would build in one in TN. Just thought I would pass this on......... http://www.cabelas.com/stores/stores_home.jsp
15. And about 2 hours ago on FB: Sig Sauer To clarify, the promotion is not over. PARTICIPATING dealers WILL still have the free 1911-22’s through the end of the promotional period, but that the promotion is while supplies last.
16. Sig Sauer's Facebook post about 3pm today: Sig Sauer To our valued SIG SAUER Consumers: As a result of the overwhelming demand for our recent 1911-22 promotion, we are announcing that allocation of these promotional packages has been fully committed. While promotional product will continue to flow into dealer locations throughout February and March, we will no longer be accepting dealer reorders. SIG SAUER would like to apologize for the confusion that this promotion has created in the marketplace. From the onset, this was a limited supply promotion that was only available through participating dealers. Not all 1911’s and 1911-22’s in the marketplace are promotional firearms. Unfortunately, SIG SAUER is unable to identify participating dealers because the majority of the promotional packages were sold to distributors who service the national dealer network. We urge consumers to visit or call local dealers to determine if they are a participating dealer with promotional inventory available. Again, SIG SAUER apologizes for the confusion that this promotion created and looks forward to continuing to provide the finest firearms available. Sincerely, The SIG SAUER Team
17. Before age 20, I never could tolerate anyone passing me.  I sped everywhere I went.   I constantly tried to provoke others to race me, I had a muscle car and was proud of it.  Like someone said above, I also paid several speed taxes and had a lot of points.  Did you know they reward you a embedded speed tax in your State Farm premium if you pay a government speed tax.  Sometimes State Farm doesn't like you, and you have to find car insurance like cotton states or some other weird farm crop name insurance that has a pay by the week/mo, and its like 3x the State Farm rates!   I had a lot of buddies that bought the same insurance when they received their preferred beverage tax too.  Go figure!   Age 20 to 30, I continued to speed, I was more careful, even bought a speed tax detection device.  Probably did save me some dough, maybe enough to defer the cost of my detection device, or breakeven.  The full economics from faster than thou was beginning to sit in.  That education I received was finally to pay off.   Age 30-40, I really saw some changes in my driving habits.  I wasn't tempted as much to go fast, driving life was beginning to slow down but living life was beginning to speed up.  Got married, had kids, and just wanted to be cautious.  Changed vehicles from hot rods to heavy diesel trucks.   Age 40-50, driving habits are noticeably different.  Routinely my wife reminds me why are you driving soooo slow.  I never even look at the speedometer at all.  I just don't find it necessary to go fast, money is not a factor, but safety is.   Who knows where my driving habits go from here.  Will I become that old man with a turn signal on all the time?  Will I have to fear that slow tax certificate?  Will I become the dreaded two hands on the steering wheel driver?  Will I forget how to get home and end up in Georgia one afternoon driving home from Work?  Hmmmmm.   Don't get me wrong, each time I meet a police car on the Highway, I still look in my rear-view mirror as if I was that fast teenager!  My thrill of the day.
18. Yes gents (and ladies too) its a new month and a new chance to win a firearm from Sig Sauer. Are you in my friend! http://www.sigsauer.com/Promotions/Sweepstakes.aspx
19. I thought I heard at one time that some gangs have a gang initiative if they flash their lights at you, or you at them, they turn on you and you become a victim of a crime.
20. I have never had a desire for a AR style pistol, however reading OS's evolution, it sort of grows on me.  Uh oh!   ARs are truly just fun to play with w/o pulling the trigger!  Truly the masculine version of playing with Barbies I suppose.
21. First, welcome to the board.  Second, let me recommend that you have a house, a car, and a good career before going beyond the rifle and pistol that you already have.  Guns are a strange addiction.  You will never satisfy your addiction to guns, ammo, holsters, IWB, OWB, paper targets, range bags, gun cleaning supplies, oils, rags, rods, safes, reloading, benches, books, gun magazines, gun magazines that you read, gun shows, armslist, TGO, other forums, ebay, Amazon, Midway, Brownells, powder, boolits, and did I mention guns?  More guns, and more guns, and.........................See what I mean.  :screwy:
22. I first saw the story on TTAG, then I went to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations web site. I agree, why the need for the Glock Perfection logo in this particular criminal case? And yes I did check my G22. No, reward for me. http://www.ok.gov/osbi/ http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/02/dean-weingarten/oklahoma-reward-poster-murder-trial-contains-glock-logo/
23. It took longer for me to get the software key then to complete my taxes.  I am done and its transmitted.  21 days or less for a refund.  I am going to have to change my information.  I DISLIKE A REFUND.  Which means that I have given the government a interest free loan!  I am ashamed!
24. Study study what you want, then create a matrix of what is out there, your budget, and then make it happen.  I myself have been partial to Dell.  In the future, I may have to try my hand at the Apple desktops since I now have 2 IPADs, 2 IPODS, and one IPhone.  3 years ago, did not own any apple.
25. Fake or real, I bet at minimum someone is out of the running for the taxpayer funded pension.
