I like that CZ. I have a soft heart for nice 22s. My favorite is my Remington 541S, unfired with the box. Just a beautiful gun! I also have another 541S, fired, and still in excellent shape. I have probably dozen or so more. Love bolt actions for sure!

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/02/12/man-who-raped-killed-florida-boy-to-be-executed/?intcmp=latestnews STARKE, Fla. – A man was executed Wednesday night in Florida for raping and killing a 9-year-old boy 18 years ago, a death that spurred the victim's parents to press nationwide for stronger sexual predator confinement laws and better handling of child abduction cases. Juan Carlos Chavez, 46, was pronounced dead at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday after a lethal injection at Florida State Prison, according to Gov. Rick Scott's office. Chavez made no final statement in the death chamber, though prison officials said he had submitted something in writing. He moved his feet frequently after the injection began at 8:02 p.m. but two minutes later stopped moving. Chavez abducted Jimmy Ryce at gunpoint after the boy got off a school bus on Sept. 11, 1995, in rural Miami-Dade County. Testimony showed Chavez raped the boy, shot him when he tried to escape, then dismembered his body and hid the parts in concrete-covered planters. Ryce's parents turned the tragedy's pain into a push for stronger U.S. laws regarding confinement of sexual predators and improved police procedures in missing child cases. Their foundation provided hundreds of free canines to law enforcement agencies to aid in searches for children. Despite an intensive search in 1995 by police and volunteers, regular appeals for help through the media and distribution of flyers about Jimmy, it wasn't until three months later that Chavez's landlady discovered the boy's book bag and the murder weapon — a revolver Chavez had stolen from her house — in the trailer where Chavez lived. Chavez later confessed to police and led them to Jimmy's remains. He was tried and found guilty of murder, sexual battery and kidnapping. Chavez's most recent state and federal court appeals have focused on claims that Florida's lethal injection procedure is unconstitutional, that he didn't get due process during clemency hearings and that he should have an execution stay to pursue additional appeals in the federal courts. The Florida Supreme Court, however, refused Wednesday morning to stay the execution to allow Chavez time to pursue those challenges, and the U.S. Supreme Court followed suit hours later. The appeals prompted a more than two-hour delay in Chavez's execution. Don Ryce, Jimmy's father said recently that he and his wife had become determined to turn their son's horrific slaying into something positive, in part because they felt they owed something to all the people who tried to help find him. They also refused to wallow in misery. "You've got to do something or you do nothing. That was just not the way we wanted to live the rest of our lives," he said. The Ryces created the Jimmy Ryce Center for Victims of Predatory Abduction, a nonprofit organization based in Vero Beach that works to increase public awareness and education about sexual predators. It also provides counseling for parents of victims and helps train law enforcement agencies in ways to respond to missing children cases. The organization has also provided, free of charge, more than 400 bloodhounds to police departments around the country and abroad. Ryce said if police searching for Jimmy had bloodhounds they might have found him in time. The Ryces also helped persuade then-President Bill Clinton to sign an executive order allowing missing-child flyers to be posted in federal buildings, which they had been prevented from doing for their own son. Another accomplishment was 1998 passage in Florida of the Jimmy Ryce Act, versions of which have also been adopted in other states. Under the law, sexual predators found to be still highly dangerous can be detained through civil commitment even after they have served their prison sentences. Such people must prove they have been rehabilitated before they can be released. Chavez had no criminal record, so the law would not have affected him. Chavez's only visitor Wednesday was his spiritual adviser, prison officials said.

Its a very small town, kinda of poor, but I think it has development opportunity one day. We have three red lights, a Hardees, a McDonalds and a Dollar General. We did get a Food City last year, we are moving up. We do have a vintage 1970s indoor gun range and a pretty cool gun shop. It definitely is not a yuppy gun shop, but it full of character. We are home to the Sequoyah Indian museum, which I think is very cool. Vonore does nest right on the lake, a lake that has access to the Tennessee river and one can go to the Gulf of Mexico from here. We are a industrial town, with several major industrial employers which I think employee several thousand, both automotive and boating. Housing is hard to find if you renting, but if you are wanting to buy, there are some good deals and nice houses in all price ranges. We are within 5 miles of three very nice golf courses. We are 10 min from the Walmart in Madisonville, 20 Min from the Walmart in Sweetwater and 20 min from the Walmart in Maryville. We are 45 min from down town Ktown. 25 min from the airport, and 5 min from I-75. You can drive to Atlanta in about 2 1/2 hours. I lived here for about 15 years now, I am a transplant from Sevierville. The reason I mention that, there are no tourists, or or traffic! Yippy ki-yay!

I had to order a rear sight for my Winchester 94-22 XTR, and was looking for some coupons. I read through some other gun message boards, older posts, all you have to do is call Numrich's phone number for a discount code. So I tried it today, and it worked. Just call their 866-686-7424 number, you will get a automatic message of a coupon code. Then use in the checkout process on the web site. I got close to $5 off my shipping today. Shipping was like $2 after the code. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/

Term for sure. I believe mortgage or any loan insurance is the most expensive.

The best deals are to buy from an individual. Businesses have to make a profit. Individuals will take a loss, usually large losses. It still baffles my mind, a person will hold on to a $200 gun, not negotiate one dime, but will take losses in the $1,000s on a car. Don't make a lot of sense to me.

I have been playing the flagging game for a while now. Didn't know we were just starting.

Welcome. I am originally from Sevierville, but I spent a many of days running around in the big D!

When I did my research 2 years ago, I read hundreds of message boards and comments. I understand the curing process for the air dry is like 30 days, vs the oven version which is complete once the baking is over. I also remember from my research that many people are impatient with the air dry product, like using cleaning chemicals on the surface before the cure is complete, and then the chemicals damage the surface. Otherwise I think I recall no other difference, same durability.

I was scammed once by someone I know. Call these people up, to meet somewhere. Be late, or call them 10 min after the time you agreed to, say you are on the way. Call 10 min later, say stuck in traffic. Call another 10 min later, pulled over by the police. Then 15 min later, call back, say you found a better deal. If 2 or 3 of us will do this to the same gizzard, at different meet up times, I bet they will become a little annoyed in their business model.

I told this story about a year ago. My father provided I think ~6 bricks to one of the auction houses in Sevierville some 20 year old Federal bricks of 500. The pricing on the boxes were still there, well south of $10 a brick. This was ammo he did not like, says it didn't pattern well. Anyway, in a public auction I think at McCarters Auctions in Sevierville, each brick brought $85 + 10% buyers premium + 9.85% sales tax = $102.71 OTD. The public bought all he had at that price. My dad was very pleased. A year later, my dad is out of 22 ammo. He routinely goes to Bass Pro which appears to have a good inventory each week for at least a day at somewhat a normal price. He now regrets he let go his ammo, even though it didn't target well. Him and his lifelong hunting buddy still shoot several hundred rounds each week, every week. The loser pays for lunch. They shoot old vintage 22 rifles, usually open sights.

Citizen satirizes proposed local firearms ordinances

That was good, I wonder what was said next by the council? -
I know the general consensus about damascus barrels are, DO NOT SHOOT ANY MODERN SHELLS IN ANY DAMASCUS BARREL! The barrels cannot handle today's loads.
