Friends house robbed/Home invasion in Chattanooga
runco replied to pitt2magic's topic in General Chat
I think what they do in Saudi Arabia to thieves is something we civilized people should consider. They cut off the hands. Those without hands have a life time of constant justice, and wiping their butts effectively! -
Lets see, this is what we know: Pole: Austin Dillon Outside Pole: Martin Turex Jr Twin1: Matt Kenseth Twin2: Denny Hamlin Official Lineup: http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2014/2/20/daytona-500-starting-lineup-sprint-cup-series-nascar-2014.html

I really hate a theif! -
A couple cracks of serious thunder. Enough to send my 8 year old boy to my bed where my 1 year old was already. 4 in the bed makes for a rough night! I froze because they stole the covers!

I use to be a Northern Tool guy. Then I discovered Harbor Freight. The only way to cure the addiction, is to buy and have everything they offer that you want. (Seriously from personal experience)! :D

I always like to compare what things cost in terms of average wages. So this was 1963, the average medium income was $4,396.64. There are 2080 working hours in a year (52 wks x 40 hours), so the average hourly rate was $2.12. The Enfield No 4 in 1963 was selling for $16.95 or 7.99 hours of work. Fast forward to today, the medium income is $44,321.67 which is the same as $21.31 per hour. According to Gun Broker, a Enfield No 4 is around ~$300, which is 14.1 hours of work. Not a bad investment, it took 51 years for the gun to increase 76% in working hours value. My info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average_Indexed_Monthly_Earnings http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx?Keywords=enfield+no+4 -

I did get to enjoy about an hour and 1/2 outside with the kids this evening. Got to pass baseball. This is the first time I have been in the backyard since November. Gees, I guess I still need to haul off the Christmas Tree. Its looking rough (I actually had forgot to dispose of it).

I was just checking the gun show schedules, and saw this. Its an advertisement for a prepping expo at the Sevierville Convention Center May 17th and May 18th. I never have been to one before, and this is like 3 miles from my dad's house. Anyone know anything about this? Saw it here: http://www.gunshows-usa.com/tennesee.shtml Their web site is here: http://mountainprepperexpos.com/

I am soooo ready! How about you? What signs have you seen? Yesterday, I had to drive by a swampy area on my way to lunch, and I heard the first sounds of spring, those spring frogs aka spring southern peeper frogs, sure were in concert loudly. Other than Daytona 500 this weekend, this is truly the first nature's sign of spring I have seen this year. This has been truly a bad winter by Tennessee (East) standards. I remember last year, my Easter flowers were in full bloom in late January. This year, the same flowers have not even broke the ground yet. One other sign, not a nature sign, but my young boys have their first baseball practice of the season 2 weeks from this Saturday. That is always a sign of Spring. I can't wait to start up my shooting clays, and my soon 10 year old will get to join me this year with his soon to be owned O/U 410. This is a gun forum, I had throw that one in!

Remington Arms moving 2,000+ jobs from NY to Alabama
runco replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
At least one of my links worked. They do indeed have an official press release, the 2nd link. Wikipedia has not been updated, whats up with that! -
About 9 years ago, I did my research and I kept coming back to a Browning Citori. They are not cheap. No regret even after 10K+ rounds. Still as tight as the day I bought it.

Are you pumped? I'm pumped, the Sprint Unlimited is starting at the moment on Fox Sports. I always love the twins on Thursday, and the Mac daddy on Sunday. It always means to me, that Spring is fast approaching when the Daytona occurs. Speed week schedule: http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2014/1/10/daytona-nascar-speedweeks-schedule-duels.html Since I don't cable or satellite anymore, so I am listing to the race on the web: http://tunein.com/radio/NASCAR-Live-on-MRN-p32682/

There is a litmus test: How many southerns do you hear flocking to the North, vs. the northerns flocking to the South. Its not just the weather, but the way of life here is the magnet! I just don't like it when northerns poke their nose in the local politics and schools. They certainly don't like our gun culture here!

.22 LR needed for William Blount shooting team
runco replied to itw69fxst's topic in Training Discussions
If this is the same William Blount that is in Blount County, then a 40 min drive one way is not too much. I live in Vonore, which is 20 minutes south of Maryville. I drive that way often, and it is exactly 1 hour door to door from my home to BassPro. So if you live in the area of William Blount High School, you are 20 min closer than me. Now if 40 min. is still too far, probably really not wanted or needed. Handouts are a different matter. :2cents: -
I want my 0:53 seconds back. Do you suppose he was that dumb, or just following direction? Music cool though.

Tanker is 100% correct. I have done this twice now in the past 13 years, one just 6 weeks ago. However, one thing he left out, is add in the emotional roller coaster you are on from the loss, while making good business decisions. I think the cremation cost to the traditional embalming and casket cost is still like 1/3 of the cost. Still very expensive. Its hard to shop around for the best bid of three funeral homes, when your loved you is stiff and starting to smell. And for you small town folks, that have only one funeral home for miles and miles around, you get to pay a little extra. Principals of supply and demand, and competition apply even to those that handle the stiff.

I don't think they are that rare. I believe you have a Sig, and not a Sig Sauer. Sauer portion I think is the German connection, and they combined in the 1970s. I found two links that may be of interest, not sure how old the 2nd post is: http://www.sigsauer.com/AboutUs/History.aspx http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1SIG225
