I believe its the hassle factor and loss of time to resolve the issue factor. When I was a FFL, I had a Winchester 70 on my rack on display for sale. The original owner found it, contacted the police and both he and the police showed up. He presented his information to me, and the police wanted to see my information. I had receipts where I had purchased it, and the matter was over in 10 minutes or less. The rifle owner got his gun back. Then a couple of days later, I had to spend about an hour and half to get my money back (travel, police, etc.). I had purchased the rifle at a pawn shop in the next town. I had to get the police, I had to bring the paperwork, and the pawn shop was like me, very cooperative. So all in all, it took close to two hours away from my time that I could have been working. Funny story, the pawn shop presented info to the police, they had only had the rifle for 1 day before setting it out to pawn. Not sure of the laws today, but back then pawn shops had to hold items like 21 days before placing an item out for pawn. Hmmmm!

Odd items to keep around in case of the apocalypse.

This may not be accurate, but I thought I read somewhere that in event of War, the GPS satellites can and would go into a encryption mode where only the military and the government could use. -
Anybody seen any Perfecta .45 ACP ammo for sale?
runco replied to Quavodus's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I did a little research, and so far found only 1 source: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/603848828 It appears that Fiocchi is the actual manufacturer in Italy, but sold through Russian sources. Further, just a theory, it appears that Walmart was the only retailer talked about of the stuff for the past several years, this may have been a Fiocchi deal with Walmart to sell exclusively the Perfecta brand as a low cost ammo. -

Used guns are the only easter eggs that I found on auction sites, especially that hard to find used gun. Then it is a matter of how bad you want it, and me personally, I absolutely will not buy from any seller that has a extra charge for credit cards. New guns, places like Buds in KY or Grab a Gun are usually the lowest and offers free shipping and no CC charges. FYI, I have scored more often on a misprint, misspelled word, or an ad that is missing a key word. For example, I have been in the market for a Colt Socom for sometime now. I just would not fork out the going rate dough. Then I found a Colt M4A1 with no mention of Socom whatsoever in the ad. I made my bid, and won the item with only one very low bid. The same week, other Socom rifles were being bid on at +$500 more than what I gave (Gunbroker). The seller just was not educated or new the market. I could sense in the email feedback frustration on his end. I have other items that I have won as well on missing buzz words.

If you have more money than cents, then get all three, maybe not at once or over time. I find that when I narrow my decision down to say 2 models, I usually end up buying both. Then since I don't trade or sell, I end up with a collection over time. But I do accomplish the one thing, the decision factor is no longer a factor. If you have more cents (sense) than money, then what you are doing is correct, asking people for their input, but you will always have that thought later, I wonder about the other gun.

May your family be blessed and may Christmas 2016 be the best ever! Reminder of the story which was read to my kids a few hours ago, and I have read/heard this story for 48+ years straight! http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Luke-Chapter-2/ 1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

My UPS guy leaves the packages inside my garage, no kidding. I have a normal door next to the garage door, sometimes its locked sometimes its not, he will always place them inside if unlocked. He also gives my dog a snooby snack or something. He always greets me as Mr. Runco. I have a really nice cool one!

Ebay is actually where I have bought a lot of craftsman tools. Before I re-discovered my gun love, I went through a 3-5 year period of scouring Ebay for craftsman tools, the good ones. I know have a triplicates if not more of each of the hand tools, sockets, and discontinued tools. My dad put me on to two things, guns and tools. I have stayed true!

Hate thieves, and I rarely use the word hate period. I didn't see any of those guns today, but was at a Pawn Shop in Maryville when two young people came in looked to be around 20 (boy and girl) who had an AR, 1911 and a Enfield to hawk. The guns just did not fit with the kids.

You might be a prepper if you think 58 degrees (East TN) is the norm temperature due to your constant living in a subterranean world (aka cave).

You need to post a picture of the complete rifle in one picture. That would help.

I'm no Wall Street Guru, but this data is interesting especially the number of shares that have been selling. I am not so sure that Sears can pull out of this, but then again Colt did. https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SHLD?p=SHLD

Meant to post this earlier, BTW I have no affiliation.

First, I would not recommend buying any extra warranties on anything that you might purchase from Sears. 2nd, if you do buy something, and need to return it, return it as quick as possible. 3rd, best to return and replace all of those broken craftsman tools now! Be warned, Sears may be on the brink of the worse kind of bankruptcy, the dreaded liquidation. The executives are quietly leaving. Bankruptcy is imminent, just trying to stay afloat through the 2016 holiday season. http://www.fool.com/investing/2016/12/13/sears-holdings-posts-another-ugly-loss-bankruptcy.aspx http://www.forbes.com/sites/adamhartung/2016/12/17/bah-humbug-investors-in-retail-as-goes-sears-so-will-go-most-traditional-retailers/#11a29b6f4db5 https://www.thestreet.com/story/13754825/1/sears-could-be-bankrupt-soon-as-debt-deadlines-loom-fitch-says.html http://www.businessinsider.com/sears-executives-quietly-leave-as-earnings-loom-2016-12 Me personally, I think when they did away with the iconic Sears catalogue was the downfall of the company! I can remember when they were the cats meow. A trip to Sears back in the early 70s was like one of the big events in my life as a kid! So back to the OP question, are you buying anything from them? I have not gone to Sears in a number of years, but I do have several thousands of dollars of Craftsman tools.

Does anyone buy a lot of steel case ammo?
runco replied to Erik88's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Given a choice brass or steel, brass all the way. Curious, any American manufacturing companies make steel case ammo? -

Maybe its just due to the holiday season, maybe I am more in tune with the news this week, but if I have to go to Knoxville or some of the cities that surround Knoxville this week, I am packing more than my standard carry. This is the news for the past 48 hours: 12/20: Update: Baby Jesus stolen from Woman's Nativity Scene: http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Baby-Jesus-stolen-from-womans-Nativity-Scene--407643075.html 12/20: Walgreens on Broadway robbed http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Knoxville-investigators-on-the-scene-of-a-Walgreens-robbery-407576535.html 12/20: Man arrested for taking packages from porches: http://www.wbir.com/news/local/man-charged-for-taking-packages-from-porches/374348510 12/19: Belk Shoplifting, led to police shooting, wrecking cars at Turkey Creek: http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Witness-Police-chase-in-Turkey-Creek-activity-near-Belk-407477415.html 12/19: Stabbing at the Jeff City Walmart: http://wate.com/2016/12/19/3-in-custody-after-stabbing-at-jefferson-city-walmart/ 12/18: Concord Park car burglary leads to man hunt: http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Police-searching-for-3-suspects-on-foot-in-Claxton-area-407362065.html 12/18: Walmart Alcoa Robbed: http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Police-identify-Wal-Mart-robbery-suspect-407360215.html Who in the heck robs the Walmart!!!! A very busy Walmart! Just a PSA if you are like me.

I look at this way, if Granny has been in the bed for a number of years, and then decides one day that she can get out with new replacement parts, hip replacement, new knees, etc. I give her credit for trying, but she aint ready for the Boston Marathon quite just yet, let alone go to the beauty shop down the street. She has build up, work out, strengthen her old tired bones. PS she still can still drop dead at any time, she is old after all.

I moved to my location deep in the woods about 2 years ago. Have planted several game cameras, and have never caught a glimpse of any coyotes. However, I have seen just about everything else including some beautiful red foxes. Share my info with a TWRA officer I go to church with, he said that I am lucky, if I have foxes on my property, coyotes will never come around.

Why can't other businesses just follow the Walmart model. I assume Walmart is a benchmark to many retail businesses.

Really? Like comparing a BB gun to a 22LR. Apples and oranges.

Ditto on the gun show experiences! Except I would add, getting ones toes ran over by the large fat guy on the hover round!
