Welcome to reloading. Me personally, I am glad I learned to reload 45 ACP, 9mm and 40, before I started necked cartridges. Night and day.

Do we know who the actual manufacturer is?

Dave, I have first hand experience within the past 1 year Walmart local will not price match Walmart.com. And with the site to store policy, they did not use their inhouse inventory to fulfill my order.
-
For the previous post, this is good news. I for one am a big Buds fan. I still like the Sevierville store, however and this will sound weird, I doubt I will ever buy anything from the store because, why buy there and when I can buy from their competitor Buds on line? I got rid of the impulse buy thing years ago, so I have a ton of patience, and though I may like their brick and mortar store, I will always check pricing and will buy from online. Why buy there when I can save a buck from the online store. If you have read my other posts on support your local gun store, you will know why.

I assume they have a "lot" from somewhere. The ad is not only the Knoxville store, but nationally.

First, I am not a fan of Gander Mountain, and I have not been in their store since Academy came to Knoxville. However, I am still on their email deals though. I see that they have this used Colt in the weekly flier, and honestly this is not a bad deal. FYI I had been thinking about a Colt HBAR upper, just something to have, something to change out for targeting, and I was looking at a upper yesterday on GB for $100 more than this complete used rifle. I also had been thinking about new Colt A4. Its likely the K-town Gander does not have these used AR n stock, but the website says I can have it shipped to any FFL. I may have to give this some serious thought. First, do I buy one, and then to have it ship to the Gander Knoxville store or my local FFL. While I ponder, here is some direct info for you: http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Colt-Sporter-Match-HBAR-Centerfire-Rifle&i=UF103763469&uf=true&track.cgi?GME0810A+

I have seen on "TV" many times in the past, similar type incidents, and the one getting out of the car pointing their finger, shaking their fist, or throwing their helmet at the perpetrator having to physically move in order to avoid contact or the perception of contact because the perpetrator driver of the other car intentionality acts like they are going to run over them, but at last second changes course. I would not be surprised this is what happened here, and Tony in addition to the "act" of running him down, was just going to throw dirt on him by gunning at the last second. From the video evidence I see, there was no intent to run in him over on purpose, maybe bump him or my thinking throw dirt on him! Knowing now that NY folk don't always think like TN folk, I wouldn't be surprised if a criminal charge does not come, i.e. voluntary manslaughter or something. I wonder if Tony will race in the Nascar race today at the Glen?

My Gen2 Glock 20 is a lot of fun, and I do reload my 10s. I personally would not want anything smaller than my big frame big boy G20. I know you like the G29, but shoot 50 to 100 rounds of 10, then you might want to reconsider. My barber has a very nice Dan Wesson 1911 in 10mm, very sweet, little heavy, but I imagine it helps with the soft recoil too. The DW is slightly North of a grand.

News outlets are reporting that Tony Stewart struck and killed a fellow a race car driver last night (Saturday Aug. 9, 2014), a at local dirt track. Read the story here, and I found a video on YouTube. Warning, its not for the faint of heart. You decide, Murder or Accident! http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/08/10/nascar-driver-tony-stewart-fatally-strikes-driver-at-dirt-track-event/ FoxNews: Tony Stewart, one of the most popular and successful drivers in NASCAR, fatally struck a fellow driver late Saturday at a dirt track race in upstate New York the night before he was due to race in a NASCAR Sprint Cup event. Ontario County Sheriff Philip Povero would not confirm the driver's identity pending notification of next of kin, though witnesses identified the driver to media outlets as Kevin Ward Jr. Povero said that the driver was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital and added that Stewart was "fully cooperative ... He is very upset and confirmed his continuing cooperation" with the investigation. An autopsy is pending. Povero said the county District Attorney had been notified, but no charges had been filed. The sheriff is asking for people who have video of the crash to contact the office so copies can be obtained for review... YouTube Video @ about 35 seconds (I wouldn't be surprised if Youtube does not take down the video soon): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qILmIyG6qno

New level of personal firepower achievement unlocked!
runco replied to musicman's topic in Show and Tell
Sweet, I don't need to read about semi shotguns. I still like the sound of my Winchester 1300 Defender slide action. Don't need to be tempted! Don't need to be tempted! Don't need to be tempted! -
Knoxville Gun Show Today (8/9) ???, Kerbellas?
runco replied to runco's topic in Events and Gatherings
Wife had better plans today. I stayed home with half the kids, while she made some errands with the half of the kids. My wallet too got thinner! Not only because of her errands, but I also got to surf ebay for hours and gunbroker for hours! I would have saved money if I had been the one that made gun run like I planned. -
Congrats, I barely remember turning 30 40 (thanks to Vontar's mistake). I am 3 years 7 mos away from my next major milestone, the big L in Roman numeral. I also can begin to see the retirement horizon in the distance. My goal 62, ~15 1/2 years away. Its my goal, don't laugh.

Some 5 years ago, we made the transition to buy a great of majority of hard items like tvs, computers, ipads, etc. via the internet. Counting Ebay and Amazon items, out of the hundreds of deliveries of items, I recall only one item I had to send back, and Amazon made it a very easy process. The price alone is not the only reason I switched, but fighting the crowds, the traffic, and hassle of people in general is the other major reason. In the past month, bought a brand new Whirlpool refrigerator via the internet (Homedepot.com), and it was delivered and setup, but had a mechanical issue. Did not make ice. It took Whirlpool 3 weeks to get a repair man out to us, but it is now fixed. Don't think it would have been any different if we had gone into Home Depot brick and mortar, the outcome would have been the same. I wonder how our shopping habits will be 10 years from now, never leave home? I too am in the market for 40" flat panel, I will have to check out Woot.

Knoxville Gun Show Today (8/9) ???, Kerbellas?
runco replied to runco's topic in Events and Gatherings
Google, whats that? Just kidding, I knew there was a show, usually this show is off the radar screen of most gun show postings, but I heard about it earlier in the week. I just wanted to stir interest is all. :stir: On a serious note, thanks for looking. -
I would be proud of that, but not the whitehouse.gov.
-
Aim higher! Above the protector! Or invest in 338 Lapua or 50 caliber or other big cals for level III+, otherwise for Level II or less, trusty old 223 will work.
-
I don't sign whitehouse.gov anything, and I really don't want my IP address showing up there either. Thanks, but no thanks.

Knoxville Gun Show Today (8/9) ???, Kerbellas?
runco replied to runco's topic in Events and Gatherings
I can do that too "next" weekend, but I can also do this "today" if confirmed there is a show. Nothing wrong to go to Buds back to back weekends. -
Is there one? If so, Its rainy, garage is clean, trash is taken off, can't mow, hmmm? Wait maybe a gunshow, and since I'm in the area, maybe I need to goto Buds in Sevierville. Yep, this may be a designated gun day.

I drank the same koolaide about a month ago from the same seller, I would buy more, but all my Sigs now have night sights. Too bad night sites don't last forever, I would stock up. Highly recommend. I even purchased at a lower price!

My wife was home when a woman called yesterday informing her that "my name"'s computer was infected with a special virus. They actually knew my personal name, which was very weird. Also, caller id showed the area code as 000. I believe my wife said the caller had a foreign accent. Of course my wife sniffed this out as a scam! Whew......
