Looks like they are at it again in MO, but this got me to think what would I do. If this truly happened in my area, hunker down, breakout the AR and ride it out while eating my MRE, or is this a qualifying event to grab the BOB and get out of Dodge? Or just do nothing. What would you do? Hey this is my first TGO poll. Pretty cool!

Little rebuttal Your link takes me to Walmart @ $22.66 per container of 5 quarts for a mobil1 for non-diesels. I WISH! Unfortunately, I use Mobile1 Turbo Diesel at slightly more per gallon (not 5 quarts), and I buy 4 gallons at a time since my truck holds 15 quarts oil. I also use full synthetics (Mobil1) in every vehicle I own from the wife's minivan, the boat, and others. I mentioned in my earlier post that I use to think synthetic was just a lame way to get more more out of your wallet without really giving you any measurable value, kinda like fuel injector cleaner or something. I conducted my own home experiment, of my diesel truck and my wifes van years ago, and just on the improved gas mileage savings alone, it was worth the premium of switching from conventional oil to full synthetic. It wasn't much, but it was noticeable. Then I made myself aware of the chemical properties difference between conventional and synthetic, and the decision was quite easy to make. Finally, Mobil1 from my research was the proven leader of the synthetics. The rest was history. Here is a little math to back up my oil cost changes, this does not include gold filter insert ;) :

For years I thought synthetic was snake oil, a gimmick to get your money. I finally made a home test, and just based upon fuel economy principals alone, its worth the premium to use synthetic. Mobil1 is my choice, and I use 15 quarts every 10K miles in my diesel truck. It costs me $120 per oil change. Change it yourself. There are just some things men must do, pee standing up, do not use GPS, and change their own oil.

Isn't this store targeting 18-22 year olds? OS, aren't you slightly North of this age group? That might explain the super customer service you received! How were the hover rounds, same, or did they have any?

I think its 100% upto the sporting goods dept. manager. One Walmart in my local area is heavy on inventory (no 22s), but other two Walmarts in my area looks like a ghost town. Its always this way, even pre Newton. I just noticed it more. If the main store managers care about this revenue stream, then they would make changes. I guess they meet their min. sales goals as a dept.

That was my policy too with girlfriends in my late teens and early 20s. I recently checked facebook on all my old flames, and wow that definitely is not my policy now. Well maybe one or two would be okay.

Article: Top Concealed Carry Handguns... your thoughts

The one I remember did not come with a letter, but said something similar in the owners manual. -

That is a great story. Makes me rethink some things.

Took me about 6 mos to get inspired back in 1988, after working an outside hot summer job mowing, cutting grass, and working in heavy sweat every day. Nothing wrong with this, but this was not me, especially when I looked into the long range future of doing the same job for 30 years and maybe just $2 more an hour.

I got a deal on one of these off ebay for about $60 about 3 years ago, works great for my needs: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/352499/sig-sauer-classic-pistol-front-rear-sight-adjustment-tool

Pretty interesting read what Cabelas did: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/08/daniel-zimmerman/st-louis-cabelas-protects-guns-rioters/ St. Louis Cabela’s Protects Guns From Looters By Dan Zimmerman on August 11, 2014 Here’s a TTAG Eyewitness News report from our local correspondent, Dirk Diggler, who sent these phone pics. After last night’s looting in nearby Ferguson, Missouri, the St. Louis Cabela’s store (which is located about five miles west of Ferguson in nearby Hazelwood) has taken precautions to protect its firearms inventory. The store is located in a large shopping center called the St. Louis Outlet Mall. Dirk reports that every entrance to the mall has at least one squad car on prominent display and there are policemen posted both at Cabela’s front door and inside the store . . . There are only long guns on display, safely behind the counter. All handguns have been removed from the glass display cases to protect against flash mob-style smash-and-grab attempts. Specific firearms customers want to see are brought out one at a time from storage off the sales floor. The usually accessible racks of long guns leading toward the gun library have been emptied. And access to the more valuable firearms in the gun library is now blocked by a wall of gun safes that have been moved into position to block the doors. Dirk reported that Cabela’s staff didn’t know when things would return to normal. He was told that the gun counter is “under orders†to operate this way until further notice. Whether those orders came from Cabela’s headquarters or the local police wasn’t clear.

Do what you think is right, and be done. Be warned I have seen buyers remorse before, guy buys a gun, and shoots it, doesn't like it or his buddies shame him with his trade/purchase, and then he comes up with a lame excuse, it doesn't work. My recommendation, work with the guy within reason, but that is all.

Funny you mention snatch and run. Though I don't open carry, but my IWB crossbreed does expose me to a imprint, and I have often thought about a snatch and run on me.

With a little imagination, one could disguise one:

When I was in the biz, I once sold one of these. I think this is the coolest and best concealed gun ever. No longer made, but I do see some pop up every now and then on GB for $600-$800. I sold one new in 1995 at $179. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7H9fq7kxAs -

I find CLP is little harsh, but I too use a little WD40 for the initial clean, and finish with Ballistol. Heck if Hickok45 says its good, its good for me! -
I love many of a 22 rifle, never owned one of these. Had a chance once, but to expensive for me. Nice rifle.
