1. I pray your family with comfort, and I pray blessings come out of these events.  I always find comfort in reading this:   Palsm 23 1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.   https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=psalms%2023&version=KJV
2. I would think unless you are new to AR, most AR owners stocked up 2 years ago.  Some may have paid a premium, but some (like me) just placed orders for 10 here, 10 there, etc.  My problem I made too many orders.    Don't get me wrong, that is a good deal.
3. Never again, I bought my boys a Foosball table, and I started putting this thing together at 10pm, and its now 2:45am, and I am about 90% complete, but 150% pooped.  Hope they understand.  Good night.  Merry Christmas.
4. So what is the definition "....if you need some?"    I have maybe 50+ unopened somewhere in my house from my many orders I placed in late December 2012 from retailers that honored their order 6 mos later.  Geeze..............

1911 low down

Me personally, I am new to 1911.  I have been in and around guns for over 40 years, and have a good respectful collection.  But until the past 60 days, never a 1911.  Finally bought my first, a Colt.  Great gun, I am still learning the platform after shooting Glocks, Sigs, and Berettas.   Now with that said, I did spend the past two years doing heavy research on 1911, because I knew I was destined to buy one.  I am not going to push any certain gun on my own opinion, I am just a beginner with 1911, but I know this much from my long research which was mostly on the 1911 forum.  There are three groups:  Low end, Medium and High end.  One particular gun from my research showed up on the high end of the Medium group and low end of the high end group, the Dan Wesson 1911.  There are several flavors, but all had the up most respect on the 1911 forums.  They claim for the money, it is the "best value" out there.  They are not cheap!  The 1911 forums sure do diss most 1911s, but the DW never a bad word.  Even Sig 1911 gets no love over there.  Don't take my word, research the diehards.  I started here:   http://forums.1911forum.com/
7. Mine just came in. Poor ole delivery man, he was old and he struggled to carry these, he must be a temp because he sure did not look the part, plus the Fed Ex truck was a rental too, with a magnet sign on the door. BTW, the cans are great, new and for the money good deal. Did not expect such a fast delivery. My wife is not happy though. See my post in the "official" what did you get for Christmas thread. I am still
8. I was mean moments ago. FedEx truck came, and delivered a package. My wife saw it, and says is it for me (wife). I said do you really want your gift now since you saw it delivered. Like a little girl, yes. She tore in the box better than my young boys could, and then I received some choice words after she opened it: (its my ammo cans from Academy)!!!!!!
9. I did have my five year old with me.
10. Sad.  Why don't people just obey the law!  Or leave!
11. Merry Christmas........Enjoy:   Luke Chapter 2 1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.   http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/book.php?book=Luke&chapter=2&verse=
12. That was excellent.  Thanks for sharing.
13. Hope you do too...........
14. I was at Krystals yesterday, and they got my order wrong.  As I pondered what to do, I realized they got the order right.  I, yes "I", screwed up by giving the wrong order according to my 5 year old.    I think we will hear more stupid news like this.  I think its a case of emboldenment starting to emerge.  Were the workers white?
15. I saw hickok45 posted it on fb, this is very lame.
16. Losing close family members are very difficult, and to add, right before the holidays.  I pray for your comfort and a blessing to come out of this.
17.    Actually, that is pretty good!  Its actually been the county from my understanding, and the last one was Loudon Co.    BTW, we extended this to the fire dept and city workers too.
18. In my area, this pass week two people convicted of stealing from mailboxes.  They only got 6 mos!!!  Plus, read another story people are just driving through neighborhoods looking for boxes on the porch, sticking out of mailboxes, etc.  Its a windfall for those ahole thieves!
19. I did get in on some of the door buster black friday deals at Bass Pro, Blackhawk cans at $9.99.  Went back for more, the deal had closed and were back at $19.99.  Same day, caught an ad in the Knoxville News Sentienel, sports section, for J Floyds in Sevierville for the same can for $11.99, caught some more.  But I needed more, so this deal worked good for me.    My Paypal account is in deep doo doo, its the only money I have that my wife can't see.
20. Don't know why this bothers me, but these two posts which were in sequential order for me this morning, originated within 2 hours of one another, but yet the number of visits are different. I know this forum has a good cross section of people, but does this mean people as a whole are more interested in a good deal on Chinese made ammo cans, than two police officers gun downed for just wearing their uniforms? Everything is just sad.
21. I was very serious about remembering your local law enforcement officers this Christmas week.  After reading stories like below, I envy their courage, dedication, and their caring, but I do not envy their job based upon events like today.  Just doing their job, and gunned down for nothing but wearing the uniform.   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/84301-2-nypd-officers-shot-killed-in-ambush-on-cop-car/
22. Terrible.  Feel for the families.  Glad my family and I live in a rural area.
23. Agree, but much heavier than my vintage 1990ish 92FS or my Sig P6.  My P6 has the heaviest trigger pull of any pistol I have felt until today.
24. We all know how popular guns are, but no where to shoot for the common folk.  I predict more indoor ranges popping up.
25. Got to fondle one today.   The trigger pull feels very heavy, and that finish is different looks more like paint.  LGS had it for $349, so I was not going to buy.  Even if the dealer was the same price, his Johnny salesman was more interested in another customer than me.  I had been awaiting a good 10 min. to see it.  Oh well no loss.  Hmmmm, maybe if Ms. Santa leaves me some mula in my stocking, I might consider.
