1. I have a pretty strong astigmatism the main reason I wear glasses.  Maybe I didn't know that I had a problem, my Eotech is a little fuzzy, but honestly thought it was the pixels because I can see each pixel and each is just a little bit fuzzy, but I do know when I acquire the target the dot becomes not my main focal point, the target is, its like my 2nd nature.  As for my Aimpoint, its just a bright clear dot, no fuzz around the edges.
2. This past weekend I talked to someone that has some factual information first hand.  It was a shotgun that did the damage, I would assume for that to happen the shooter knew exactly what he was shooting at.

Funny

Those were great!
4. Both the Eotech and Aimpoint pro can be had in the $350 to $400, but you have to watch for sales from reputable retailers.  Many fakes from places like ebay.  I was able to grab the Eotech from Brownells on a special coupon when Eotech was having a $60 rebate, so I have a Eotech 512 for around $330.  Then the aimpoint pro came from Optics Planet with a special 10% off and free shipping.  I think I got it for around $360.  Both I acquired in early 2014.    Go with these and you will never 2nd guess your decision.
5. I should could carry more than one, I have one of those NAA revolvers and I have a Beretta 21A, both are 20+ years old, but rarely get carried.
6. As a father of 4 boys under the age of 11, 22LR and a 410 is the only way to go say until they are 14 or 16.  With that said, just get a 22LR lever action rifle.  Those are just fun.  At this age its about fun, its about shooting cans, shooting at squirrels, shooting at walnuts, and shooting at trees.  The high power stuff are from grown ups.
7. I live here in Vonore, and just recently heard about this.  It actually happened a few months back.  There are several eagles on or around the lake, and with us being close to the mountains.  There are some real winners around here if you know what I mean.  You should see the first Friday night of the new month at Walmart!  Just Wow!
8. Did you know this: http://www.shotgunnews.com/network-topics/feds-consider-gun-show-spying/ Feds Consider Gun Show Spying by Robert W. Hunnicutt | January 28th, 2015 0 The American Civil Liberties Union has always been kinda blah on the 2nd Amendment, to the point that in the 1970s, it was just left out of a Bill of Rights display in ACLU headquarters. So it was good to see the organization taking up for gun owners after a Freedom of Information request exposed a proposal inside the Drug Enforcement Agency to spy on gun shows The Department of Justice was quick to characterize the spying idea as the idle notion of a low-level employee that was quickly nixed by higher-ups. Given the scandal involving enhanced IRS surveillance of conservative political organizations, it’s hard to have full confidence in that one. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that the ACLU has raised concerns about widening use of license-plate recognition systems and other advanced surveillance techniques by DEA and other agencies, especially since many of them have made asset forfeiture, even in the absence of a conviction, a major goal. An internal DEA document said, “DEA has designed this program to assist with locating, identifying, and seizing bulk currency, guns, and other illicit contraband moving along the southwest border and throughout the United States. With that said, we want to insure we can collect and manage all the data and IT responsibilities that will come with the work to insure the program meets its goals, of which asset forfeiture is primary.” It’s only natural to connect the dots between generalized surveillance at gun shows and asset forfeiture. As has been demonstrated time and again, the feds are perfectly content to snatch your guns and then challenge you to get them back. The best hole for that sort of fishing expedition is a gun show. As the Journal reported: “The 2009 email is heavily redacted so as not to disclose the sender, recipient or much of the text beyond a single sentence: ‘DEA Phoenix Division office is working closely with [the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives] on attacking the guns going to [redacted] and the guns shows, to include programs/operation with [license-plate readers] at the gun shows.’” Those who have followed the Fast & Furious scandal will immediately take note of the Phoenix connection, since that’s where the “gun walking” debacle was concocted. If you believe, as most politically aware gun owners do, that Fast & Furious was an attempt to build a rationale for restrictive gun control, gun show surveillance is just, from federal law enforcementís viewpoint, a logical extension. The ACLU’s Jay Stanley said he was glad to hear DEA officials nixed the program, but noted “there is unfortunately a long history of Americans being subject to surveillance because of their political or associational activities, and we see that to this day. When you combine that history with a powerful surveillance technology like license plate scanners, it raises significant concerns.” No kidding. Gun shows are a central, maybe the central “associational activity” of gun owners. That’s why the antis always attack them. The number of crime guns acquired at gun shows is small. Antis want to kill gun shows because thatís where gun owners gather, bond, exchange information and gather strength for the fight. Shows are prime recruiting territory for NRA and for state and local gun groups. Eliminate them and building membership and activists becomes much harder. And how many of you would feel enthusiastic about attending a gun show if you knew federal agents eyeballing your license plate were making a list? There are probably quite a few out there who won’t go now unless they can ride a bus: knowing that attending a gun show might put you in a government database would deter many more. Just knowing a surveillance plan was discussed will scare off a lot of people, which nicely serves the purpose of those who were considering it. So one hearty cheer for the ACLU; better late than never! If they can’t work up the stomach to defend our right to bear arms, at least they can support our right peaceably to assemble, and that counts as progress. 9. Don't invest in shot glasses.  When I met my wife she had hundreds!  I said why, her family told they would be worth something someday.  They were right, it was worth a trip to the trash dump after a few years.
10. I thought I had to have cable (satellite) too, but 18 mos later, probably the best decision we have made.  We actually watch the DVDs we have in our collection.  We actually do have more family time, and we do watch Amazon prime, and lots of stuff on Youtube.  We have re-discovered shows like Gunsmoke and many more.  I admit, I miss ESPN, but in what I gained in other areas, not that much.  So we are about $1,800 saved now.  The only thing we have to show, is money.  Before it was just check mark that we watched X @ $100 month.  We do have local digital programming of which we have close to 20 channels FREE, FREE, FREE.  Did I mention it was FREE!
11. I think in life or death situation, it does not matter, otherwise probably hurts.
12. When I had my Foreman, I researched researched, and ended up buying a wheel tire combo from ebay.  Saved lots of money.

14. I have a friend who is not tech savvy but does have a computer on the internet and received one of these calls, and fell for it.  Geeze...............  She said she went to the internet site like instructed and then watched the person navigate her computer with the remote access and was more impressed someone could do that than paying attention to what they were actually doing.   There are some gullible people and for sure sheep.  If my father had a pc and the internet, I would very worried.  He struggles to know the difference between real medicare mail and junk mail.  He does give to some charities, and now he is on the mailing list of every charity in the United States.  He really struggles with this.
15. Not sure if the hammer is common with other 94, but on Numrich they don't list any hammers for the Savage/Stevens 94 series M: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/SavageStevensSpringfieldFox-33479/Shotguns-40503/94ShotgunSeries-41398/94SeriesM-34352.htm   If they are common, they do have a hammer for 94 and is in stock for ~24.95.  You might want to give them a call. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/SavageStevensSpringfieldFox-33479/Shotguns-40503/94ShotgunSeries-41398/94-34353.htm?page=2   Finally, ebay has some stuff: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR10.TRC1.A0.H0.Xstevens+94+hammer&_nkw=stevens+94+hammer&_sacat=0     BTW, nice.  I still have my 410 that my dad bought at the Co-op in Sevierville in the early 70s.  Its a Winchester 37A.  Its in 80%.  Two years ago, my oldest son killed his first squirrel with it.  Great times.  Enjoy yours, clean and restore, and have it ready for the your kids!
16. Meant to post this a couple of days ago. Received this as an email from Grabagun, enjoy: http://grabagun.com/rem-1911-45acp-5-7rd-blk-wlnt-2-mgs.html?trk_msg=RNQCLHDPHM3K17A4GIGDAGT6RG&trk_contact=45DHLJNQOUEL1LOADPVQI120HK&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fgrabagun.com%2frem-1911-45acp-5-7rd-blk-wlnt-2-mgs.html&utm_campaign=GrabAGun+-+Remington+1911+R1+Rebates! http://www.remington.com/pages/news-and-resources/rebates-and-promotions/spring2014-1911r1-rebate.aspx
17. Could TGO find a niche?  What I mean, what would separate TGO from other like videos on Youtube?  Tennessee centric maybe?   I like the idea, but Youtube is flooded with gun reviews and whatnot related to the gun hobby.  Sure it will gain traction with some TGO'ers, or is that the targeted group?
18. 90 miles round trip, 16 mpg diesel, 6 gallons @ $2.89 = $17.34 + $10.00 door fee less $2 off = $25.34 real cost to go, unless I can find a $25 savings in new guns and new supplies over the internet, probably not!  But the fellowship comrade of my fellow gun friends and chance to get out of the house, $25 out of pocket hmmmm?    Bottom line, don't know if I will go or not!  90/10, 90% won't go, 10% might. :blah:
19. The FAA reported that in 2012 730+ million people were flown in the U.S. and OP reported that 2,212 incidents of guns?  Hmmm, if my math is correct that is 0.0003%  or to put in something that is understandable, thats 3 PPM.    Folks there are more dumb people that fly than that!  That number is low!
20. Looks like raising fees again. Saw the below on fb this morning. You know I don't transfer any of my gun broker or out of state guns purchases there due to their cost, but dealers like this if they want to grow their business, they should go in the opposite direction. I am sure they are protecting their bread and butter since they are a stocking dealer, but I know of a dealer very local that move 20-40 guns a week by doing only transfer. He is not a stocking dealer, but does have lots of used guns, and a few new, but his business model is transfers. I guess he will keep my business, his fee is lot less. 21. Read about it a few weeks ago on Sig forums.  Hopefully it will be on the shelves in the next 5 years knowing how Sig is.

Good Ol Jane!

There are consequences for peoples actions regardless of change of heart or remorse.  Prisons are full of them.
23. This baffles me.  Why are people trying to save money on a NRA membership?  The NRA is a non-profit, its a organization looking out for the interests of its members.  Shouldn't we be trying to give as much money as possible vs. the opposite?  If we are going to brag, shouldn't we say we donate $500 per year for the 1 year membership instead of bragging about $300, $400 or $500 for the lifetime?  Now if we were trying to buy a certain gun, yes we should brag about the lowest price, but not a membership to a organization looking out for us.    This reminds me of my sister in law.  She negotiates with AM Vets, and Goodwill.  Why?  Its not like the money is feeding fat cats or something, it goes for a good cause.  Why by selfish looking out for yourself, why not just pay 2x for the item or something.  Understand the purchase and who its intended to help.    Am I wrong?
24. Excellent movie.  It still is very sad though.  I was just amazed how the whole audience was just dead silent during the exit.  Over heard some teenagers say why is everyone so quiet.    Recommend, recommend, recommend.  Yes, the book is better, but the visualization was just great.
25. I plan to go tonight with my son.
