  1. The 320s are a major hit.  I haven't scored one, but it is on my short list.  I read a lot about them on the Sig Forums, where the die hard Sig guys are at.  Rarely you hear of an issue, but you do see plenty of praise.   I do always wait until 1 year after any new gun goes on the market before I partake.  I have worked in manufacturing for close to 30 years, regardless of what you make, that first year of manufacturing of any new product line, is the toughest.    I am been thinking of either the 357Sig in the compact or the new released 45 version myself.
  2. Piney Flats isn't that in upper East Tennessee, next to Erwin.  I think there are a couple nuclear industry component manufacturers up there.
  3. Simply if you hang out here, and are not apart of any the Forbes lists, I suggest you learn M-O-D-E-R-A-T-I-O-N.  If you are man of faith, the temptation of #10 of the 10 commandments are hard to resist, I have sinned a lot over the years due to this site.    For you lazy, low information, or don't care people, #10 is don't covet your neighbors <fill in the blank>.  And if you still need a little help, Webster says covet = yearn to possess or have something.
  4. If scurrying to fund a pistol is a challenge, I would recommend the Rossi, otherwise I would scurry just a little more for a Smith or other comparable product.  To me the M9 is proven and if is good enough for our military, then good enough for me!
  5. UPDATE:  I was at my local Walmart today, and they appear to be restocked with ARs again including two Colts, one at $699 and the other $899 (Magpul edition).  Last week, they sold out of everything I know I came by a couple of times.   Hmmmmm..........I wonder if they have commitments, or moved inventory from one store to the next.  I will pass this time, don't need another one.  Wife still not talking to me right now.    Recommend you call before going if you want the Colt, Madisonville Walmart (423) 442-5237.   They had about 5 models there at 1pm today.  Enjoy!
  6. I have a separate rider policy from State Farm.  All I have with them was a list of guns, model numbers, and approximate value (by me).  No other questions.
  7. There is none greater than the United States of America for me! And I have been around the world twice, talked to every one once..............
  8. I am a DIY kinda of guy, and caught one of these on ebay ending at unpopular timeframe, snagged for less than $60 2 years ago:   http://www.glockmeister.com/GLOCK-Factory-Rear-Sight-Tool-for-Polymer-Sights/productinfo/G5161/
  9. If you are a business man and can use a car in your business, lease is a better way to go on taxes, vs. the depreciation route method.
  10. I believe your dad and my dad must have been kin.  Though I use a store bought table for my bench, my dad prides himself on building things out of junk, especially things he finds at the trash transfer station, etc.  Great stuff.
  11. Looks like there is a planned meeting today (8/13/2015) @ 9am in the legislative library at the state Capitol do discuss new possible legislation, from my read to ban guns again from Parks but based upon threat of loss revenue:   http://wate.com/2015/08/13/gun-safety-at-center-of-lawmakers-roundtable-discussion/   NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Tennessee lawmakers are having a roundtable discussion on gun legislation and the impact on local economies on Thursday. The discussion begins at 9 a.m. in the legislative library at the state Capitol. Participants include: Adam Skaggs, national senior counsel, Everytown for Gun Safety Toby Compton, executive director, Metro Sports Authority Saul Solomon, director of law, Metro Nashville Shauna Billingsley, city attorney, City of Franklin Brandt Wood, organizer, Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival Jon Phillips and Lee Fling, Axis Security, Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival Beth Joslin Roth, policy director, Safe Tennessee Project James Bolden, director of police services, Memphis (retired) It was prompted by a recent ruling by the state attorney general who found the guns in parks law applies to many concerts, festivals and public events held in parks, even when the local government contracts with private, third-party entities to operate the park. Tennessee ranks ninth in the nation for both accidental shootings and shooting deaths. However, legislators note that festivals and concerts account for more than $100 million in statewide economic impact.
  12. I have family and use to own a home in Pittman Center, which the entrance of the Greenbrier cove is where the middle prong is located.  Great area, lots of family memories there.
  13. Is this a reflection of someone with authority doing something on their own, or is this a reflection of the agency.
  14. I'm torn, agree Ferguson does not need anymore gasoline.  There is a time and place for the Oath Keepers and alike, this is not one of them in my opinion.

    10mm?

I must be wimp, or you are manly.  I found the 10mm to have a stiff recoil, and I have a 20 large frame too.  I would think the 29 would be even more.  I should mention that I reloaded mine to original specs of 10mm.
  16. Been reading other forums, and this is for sure all across the land.  Theories abound!   I wished I had stumbled into a SOCOM.  One fella I read about in West VA found one less than a G.     Anyone else score?
  17. Your post reminded me of my experience, but I was a DIY kinda of guy, here is one of my older posts from 2012, BTW my gun still looks brand new:    http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/47369-my-gunkote-tale-a-tale-of-priceless-wisdom-kids-in-the-garage/?hl=%2Bp226+%2Bsandblasting

  19. Trade your Gen3 for a Gen2, then no problem.
  20. This actually happened in my neck of the woods, and I go to church with one of the officers.  Quite stupid in my opinion, and what a idiot:   http://www.newschannel9.com/news/top-stories/stories/facebook-posts-lead-multiple-wildlife-charges-19199.shtml?wap=0   Facebook Posts Lead to Multiple Wildlife Charges Social media led wildlife enforcement officers to charge a Monroe County man with multiple crimes. Tyler Kruz Murphy pleaded guilty last week to seven violations including killing big game in closed season, killing big game over bait, hunting without a license, violation of big game bag limits, possession of illegally taken wildlife and violation of big game tagging/check-in procedures. He paid more than $2,700 in fines and lost his privileges to hunt or fish for five years. The case began when a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officer crossed paths with Murphy while out hunting in April.  Murphy, not knowing he was talking to a wildlife officer, shared details of a turkey he shot the previous day. The officer suspected the turkey had been illegally baited and notified other local officers. Murphy was already known to Officer Kip Kite because he had been charged with other wildlife violations in 2012. Kite noted Murphy had not reported the turkey he claimed to shoot the previous day, as required by law. However, Kite needed more evidence before he could file any charges. A few days later Kite received an anonymous email about a photo posted to Facebook. Murphy had posted a photo of two dead turkeys saying, “first time killing two with one shot.” Officers also found the illegal bait on the property Murphy was hunting and continued to keep watch on the area, hoping Murphy would return to hunt. The investigation had stalled at this point, but the officers didn't give up. On May 12, officers "gained access to [Murphy's] social media page," according to a TWRA news release. They found numerous incriminating photos dating back to September of 2014. They served a search warrant on Murphy's home and seized a muzzleloader, shotgun, compound bow, cell phones and a truck. An 8-point mounted buck, three turkey beards, turkey spurs, turkey tail fans and turkey wings were also confiscated.  Murphy was subsequently arrested and charged with 17 different wildlife crimes. They said Murphy admitted to the violations. He appeared before Judge Dwaine Thomas in Monroe County on July 28, 2015 and pleaded guilty to seven violations.  In addition to the $2,700 in fines and lost hunting & fishing privileges in Tennessee, Murphy also loses hunting & fishing privileges in dozens of other states under the cooperative Wildlife Violators Compact. The confiscated muzzleloader, shotgun, compound bow and truck along with the eight point buck shoulder mount and turkey parts were declared contraband by order of Judge Thomas.  Officer Kite said, “Any person that witnesses or has reason to believe that someone is violating wildlife laws should contact TWRA through a regional office. Without the anonymous email, this case might have ended without Murphy being held accountable for all of his known crimes. We’re very grateful for Judge Thomas for taking a firm stance against wildlife violators. It helps to have a judge that understands how and why wildlife officers enforce game laws."
  21. I agree about fever and market, but I don't think Walmart keeps much inventory, store only, and what gets me all "black" rifles were on clearance.  Walmart red clearance items usually means no longer to be sold, or its a seasonal item.  My bet, someone finally convinced Wally leadership to get out of the black gun market.
  22. I too have a separate account linked to paypal, and it has no over draft protection which is important.   BTW that paypal 6 mos no interest credit is dangerous, and addicting.
  23. Having lived in East Tennessee all my life and when vacationing we always just go South, however when the wife and I went to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon West, it was very exciting, very different.      We have been to Hawaii 2x, once on the honeymoon and 2nd time with the kids.  That is great vacation.
  24. As of yesterday (8/7/2015) most Walmarts have put on clearance all AR15s including Colts, and it looks like most black rifles including the black 22s too.  I snagged a Colt M4 for $699.   This one I bought today had been in their inventory since 2013.This rifle was not on my radar, not on my horizon, not even in my dreams, but I cannot pass up a new Colt at this price even if Colt is bankrupt.  They had some DMPS in 308 for $899.  Many others.   Seen this same posting on other message boards, a Walmart in Oklahoma had put on clearance their black rifes yesterday too.  Walmart must be getting out of the black AR biz!  My local Wally even has all AR accessories including bags 50% off.  Those Surefire lights are 50% off too.    If you are on the fence, now is the time to buy.  Especially a Colt.
  25. I believe I remember reading when Colorado imposed new gun laws that Colorado is basically former Californians anyway.  So yes, bunch of tree huggers.
