During my trek to find the IWB, I first stumbled into a heck of deal on Armslist of a Crossbreed, couldn't resist.  Bought it, tried it, and never had 2nd thoughts.  Now fast forward, since I have many flavors and desires in my ccw rotation, I ended up with around 7 or 8 of those Crossbreeds.  Its no fluke.  As Tony Tiger once said, they are GREAAAAT.

That looks good.  Question for you, piecing some of your other recent threads together.  Assuming you ride your bike to work, how do you disarm in the parking lot of your employer on a bike.  

I actually did this some 15 years ago.  Now full to capacity.

I would have focused more on forced entry deterrent.  The ease of a sawall and simple crowbar on the top or side is enough to convince my safe is not as safe as I once thought.  Newer materials are now available, more options.  I am not worried about the fire threat, or the removal of the safe threat, its the threat of someone using my own shop tools and simply cutting off the top of the safe or side to gain entry that bothers me.

Blowing the dust off this one.  Where can one find some of these steel targets reasonably priced?  If I had a plasma cutter or a good metal bandsaw, I would make myself.  I like to build a setup like on post #1.

Wow that is interesting, maybe a separate thread should be created drawing attention to this policy change.    I do believe the business can only enforce this policy upon private tables, but not individuals walking the aisles amongst themselves and the ones that stalk outside the business in the parking lot.

Kudos to this business.  We need more businesses that are not afraid to be politically correct.  Is it not wonderful that a business can say this and advertise this?  If this business was in other countries say the middle east, the business would have been burnt down along with its owner likely being beheaded.  Maybe in time, that will happen here in the good ole USA, but not today.    I go out of my way to patronize certain businesses like Chick-Fi-Lay, Hobby Lobby and Tyson Foods. 

Glad I could help.  I wished I had seen this video 14 years ago.  I have a good safe, but I would have gone about my selection process just a little different.  I want to upgrade to a new safe due to capacity, and this video has helped me pinpoint what I now want.

I have one relative in my family who would be a poster child of old southern democrat.  Now he is a large farmer and lifelong democrat.  His views are astonishing to me.  He too would likely say the same about the stereotype of people who enters gun shops.   I don't know where this centric thinking comes from.  You should hear his love fest of Hillary.  He says the Republicans are the bad guys.  Corporations that are making millions are bad, and O is doing the right stuff.  I want to throw up.  Since he is pushing 90, and my uncle, out of respect of him & his age, I choose to ignore and not confront him.  I am equally centric on politics as he is, but just 180 degrees.  He is the only non-republican / conservative I know.    Its funny he watches MSNBC all the time, and I have heard him say Fox news is the enemy.    Talk about polarization in my family, just glad he is the only negative!

When I was in the biz 20 some odd years ago, many war stories of how guns were traced after the original owner sold/traded it away.   This was on the heels of Ruby Ridge etc. timeframe.  Rumors were rampant that many ATF agents were uncover buying used guns to cash in on opportunists.   Many people squeal quite easily when Feds contact you about a gun.  I sold it to so & so, he lives in (address), etc.  Hence my position on gun trading and gun sales on my personal level.   I know its perfectly legal to sell/trade a personal firearm, especially in Tennessee, thousands do it everyday, I personally don't want the scrutiny, just don't want the potential headache, don't want the liability risk on many fronts and etc.    Who knows after I sale a gun that I purchased on a 4473 or not, where it may end up.  I don't want to explain or be asked, did I do my reasonable due diligence to confirm the buyer is legal, which may be as simple as can you legally buy this gun in Tennessee, or could be as simple show me your conceal carry permit, etc.  Because what if the buyer claimed he in fact informed me he was not legal (a lie)?  Just don't want the BS!   I am getting that way on personal vehicles that I work on too, like a brake job or something.  I know of someone close that flips cars on the side, and done a simple brake job on a car he had purchased.  The car was sold and was involved in serious accident a few days later, and the buyer claimed the brakes malfunctioned.  Maybe a bolt or bolts were not torqued properly.  Not sure of the details, there was a high risk of civil litigation, and potentially this simple brake job having to be revealed that shade tree guy performed.   People are just sue crazy anymore.   I do wonder, what are the cases out there that might end up in a civil court over a matter of a gun sale/trade that was legal transaction, but some private seller was sued in civil court say for being reckless in trading/selling a gun to a questionable character?

Axle grease and transmission fluid "stink".  I also agree, unless you are operating in 350 degree temperatures, the 2nd number of the oil weight doesn't mater.  So just decide 0W, 5W, 10W, 30W etc.  Remember the first number I believe is the viscosity at laboratory settings of 70 degree F.   The 2nd number is the viscosity at 350F.   And to Ron's point, don't you need some friction fighting ingredients?  No need for KYJ in this household yet :clap:   I wonder if bacon grease is a good alternative?

I quit patronizing TGI Fridays several years ago, after a stunt of sudden closure in Maryville.  No notice to its employees and wham shut the doors for good.

My weird way take:   Regardless of retailer, retailers by nature do not manufacture anything.  So any issue / defect / warranty claim on the item being purchased is not a reflection of the retailer.  However, the tact of the deal making, the actual deal itself and the service after the sale are measurable KPI (key performance indicators) of the retailer.  One might argue what about the inventory selection.  If patience is on your side, this should not be a deciding factor, but if impatience is present, then all leverage of the deal is passed to the seller and you are at their full mercy of treatment and deal making.    In my weird way of analyzing, this value add by the dealer except for the actual deal, is worth about 2 cents too me, its all about the product being purchased and the actual deal that is 99.9% important.  The treatment during and after the sale are just smoke & mirrors and are based upon people, not the name of the business they wear on their shirt.  The decision on what to buy is the easy part, its always which retailer is worthy of my money.    So of all of the BMW dealers within an acceptable driving distance, this dealer in Knoxville is the best???  Me personally, I would check out Atlanta, Louisville, Lexington, etc. assuming you are not happy with Nashville and other closer to home dealers.  But if its the inventory thingy and you have no patience, just doll out the cash and smile regardless of the feedback from others as you go through the purchase process.

My first vehicle was a 1978 Jeep CJ5 with the 304.  Great fun vehicle, pretty much a tank as I recall.  Still would get stuck in the lake bottoms, not 100% all terrain as a 16 year old would think.  Reflecting, lots a fun, but not something I would want as a daily driver.   Just remember those rinky dink car lots, buy here pay here, etc., they make about 20-30% on the sale.  That's $2K to $3K in pure profit on a $10K vehicle.  Jeeps and Diesels are very hot, and move quickly, they know, and will price high and negotiate just a little to make you feel good.  I would highly recommend buying from an individual if buying used.

I know by nature you doubt most everything, but are you sure?    According to this group that has a website (so it must be true), they claim a genetic variation is the melanistic leopard (meaning an increased amount of black pigmentation in the fur).   http://www.cflar.org/?page_id=934
