After years of hesitation, Democrats rally around gun control
runco replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
Blue collar worker you say. My perception is that the majority of the dem voters live in urban areas, and don't work. You know the low information crowd. -
Maybe I am late to the discovery, however I wear my shirt tale in most of the time and I IWB carry. Its hard sometimes to tuck the shirt in between the holster and the inside of the pants, its a tight fit between the clips, kydex and the pants. Most of the time I just use a credit card to push the shirt tale in. Tonight, I made a major discovery, use a shoehorn. I did, and it was quick and easy. So maybe I am a dork, or I might be on to something, but I did want to share with the community. For some of you of the younger generation, you probably don't have a clue what a shoehorn is:

is it illegal to sell a gun with a non functioning safety?
runco replied to JoeJ615's topic in General Chat
To common gun handlers, like the ones on this board, I agree with you, but for general public I do liken the safety feature of a gun to the brakes of the car. -

Thanks for sharing. A unique name and a match on FB, assumed the same. -
is it illegal to sell a gun with a non functioning safety?
runco replied to JoeJ615's topic in General Chat
Would you sell someone a car with no brakes, when it had brakes when it was sold to you? Even if you informed the buyer your car had no brakes, I would get a written signed release document of some sort if you did want to repair it yourself. Just makes very common sense. This has liability written all over it, even if full disclosure. Even this original posting is a forever a written record that could be subpoenaed as evidence of what you did. Pay to have it fixed, problem solved. -
Maybe repost to answer a question on another posting.

Don't give you enough to get toasted. I know of a few men that visit during a busy time. They go from table to table sampling. They either can't hold their own, or they were quite buzzing.

Lots of similiaries in your story to my own. I guess I am a wuss, as my wife must be cutting some onions right now (hint) at 7am in the morning. Anyway great rifle, even greater story. To me guns are a link to the past with my dad. I still have my dad, but its not like what I remember. BTW, my dad can still out shoot me till this day. He has always been good.

Do I have to Check My Firearms, Next Chilhowee Gun Show

Very good point! -
I haven't seen a red fox killed on the road in years, but until I placed a trail camera out a few months ago, I didn't realize what a population that I have of red foxes. So I guess my eyes are fooling me. No dead fox on the road = no foxes. Doesn't pass my BS meter.

One disagreement, we still do not know the longevity of the P320, its not proven long term. I hang out on the Sig Forums a lot, and some issues do come up.

Do I have to Check My Firearms, Next Chilhowee Gun Show
runco replied to runco's topic in Events and Gatherings
Though I can appreciate the comments about negligent discharge at a gun show, if we are concerned about that, then we must be concerned about it across the board not just at the gun show but other places like: at Walmart, at the grocery store, heck just in the public everywhere. So why are we not paranoid enough to stay away from the public in general if we are worried about negligent discharge. Hey, wait a minute, this may be the new argument of the left, its all about gun safety and the children. Back to the topic, I am really surprised more people are not jumping on the band wagon. Yes, I know for years it has been the staunch rule at the show to check all firearms, but since its a city owned park by state rules, and a lawsuit has been filed to reconfirm this belief, why would our ally RK Shows be in bed with the Madeline Rogero and team now? They could simply blink and make it happen. -
Now that is funny.

Yea, but but but.....aren't those RK folks on our side? Hence OXYMORON. What then after the suit is settled presumably in our favor, only I75 expo which is private property. -

The argument is that this is a park, and by new TN law, legal to ccw regardless of who is renting the Jacobs building or not. At least that is the opinion of most now. -
RK Gunshow Tomorrow Oct 10-11 Nashville TN Fairgrounds

You know John & Joe shouldn't have to follow the drug deal playbook. If its legal, then its legal in open public or inside a car. -

runco replied to runco's topic in Events and Gatherings
Good question, duno. Regardless, "we" the TN gun community think regardless we can ccw with don't ask don't tell, or do ask and don't care. Can they deny me entry? As a renter of the building, yes they can until the lawsuit is determined. Hence a oxymoron. -
This coming weekend (10/17 & 10/18) will be the Gun Show @ Chilhowee Park. With all of the publicity, do I have to check ccw firearm? I understand I do for non-ccw firearms that I may happen to bring. Talk about oxymorons. The Gunshow promoter will have to make a choice, should they be pro gun, or will attempt to ban ccw due to what reason, safety, insurance, or other. Either the promoter will have to change venues, or succumb to the law. I am borrowing this from two other postings: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/90711-knoxville-allowing-fair-to-prohibit-guns-in-a-park/page-5 http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/91398-rk-gunshow-tomorrow-oct-10-11-nashville-tn-fairgrounds/

Mike I use to think this way too, and actually thought this might be my addiction solution.............It has only tempered my addiction, created new ways to stack and organized better, but the penned up demand is building, building strongly. My sons have one of those cheap cheap super thin sheetmetal safes for their BB guns and baseball cards, well I have considered using my imminent domain as their father to take over their safe as a temporary solution. So far restraint is holding firm.

Team of friends, influence national audience or not, I think we did great to use our simple click of a mouse votes to reflect what we believe in or not at the local level. Who knows and who cares if we influence national audience or not, we just responded to a poll of our interests at a local grass roots level. No buzz kill here! No dampen drives and initiatives either. Hopefully someone can report back what was the final results. The last I recall it was around 2/3 vs. 1/3. I assume the paper runs the local results in the local print edition, maybe a fellow Hamblin Countian can report back.

Problem with religions, they are mostly ran by people. Anytime you put your faith and trust in people and people alone, you will be met with disappointment, anger, broken hearted, let down, hypocrisy, and eventually it can lead to total distrust & disgust. There is an alternative, where you will never be let down or disappointed, and where the standard has never changed. Some of you know where I am going, and I will leave it at that.

Alien gear , Galco, Crossbread, Safariland IWB
runco replied to TnShooter83's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
During my trek to find the IWB, I first stumbled into a heck of deal on Armslist of a Crossbreed, couldn't resist. Bought it, tried it, and never had 2nd thoughts. Now fast forward, since I have many flavors and desires in my ccw rotation, I ended up with around 7 or 8 of those Crossbreeds. Its no fluke. As Tony Tiger once said, they are GREAAAAT. -
New holster and I need to brag on a friend
runco replied to Spots's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
That looks good. Question for you, piecing some of your other recent threads together. Assuming you ride your bike to work, how do you disarm in the parking lot of your employer on a bike.
