Book values and opinions are one point, but I sometimes for research purposes only, I like to see what the national market is: http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx?Keywords=remington+3200+trap Problems with national markets, sometimes people will over pay, however sometimes with local markets, people will grossly over pay or a few times under pay. That is why I study the markets over, and over, and over again. Grading and inspection is separate.

Over on some other sites, glocks have been used by certain seal teams for years. I believe this latest decision was more budgetary and good lobbying by glock. I like both, prefer Sig, but Glock will do. I have said it before, Sig is like taking the trophy date to the prom, but Glock is the ugly one. No worry, both will put out when needed.

I typically turn over every rock and stone that I can to find the best deal on the internet for a new gun once the decision has been made to buy. Time is of no matter to me, I have the patience of Job. Its a weird obsession that I have to save money when buying new. I have no desire or loyalty to any brick and mortar (never have & never will). More money in my pocket, means more for my hobby. Its a eccentric perspective, but I don't believe in spreading or redistributing unnecessary funds that I earned to anyone, money is simply too hard to earn, especially disposable income for a gun hobby. LGS can prey upon the impatient, the less informed and ones that are flushed with cash. Don't worry, people like me are likely less than 0.01%, and won't bankrupt the LGS. But hey, I am serious gun nut! :screwy:

This resource is a good start, select caliber, and then it will list the best deals by vendor: http://gun-deals.com/ammo

Very nice. This may inspire me to build a similar one, but one that is concreted into the ground.

Just an observation about hunting and fishing licenses...
runco replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in Hunting and Fishing
It was a requirement for me in the 8th grade in Sevier county. However, that was in 1982. What is ironic, to be in the 8th grade back then, you had to be born in 1968 or gifted. I believe the law states that if you were born in 1969 or later, you have to have the safety course. I don't qualify, but yet had to take the course. I recall it was 2 hours a day, for 4 days, and on the 5th day, we got a field trip to the Douglas Dam range to shoot 22s and sporting clays. Could you imagine the outcry today if it was mandatory in the school system and kids had to shoot real guns, like the ones that throw the lead down............maybe little 22 lead and some pellets. -
I didn't get one, but nonetheless I want to hear about yours so my envy can sky rocket! No disappointment on my gifts, but like a kid, I always want a new gun for Christmas. So what did you get, was it a surprise or expected. Pictures would be nice too.

Buds.com has much better pricing, and no TN sales Tax & free shipping on guns. However, remember for any internet purchase that does not collect TN sales tax, you are required to submit to the state! https://www.tn.gov/revenue/topic/consumer-use-tax

Good story, reminds me of my own. When I was a kid, it use to bug me or perplex me that one of my neighbor kids never did get hyped up for Christmas, and the day after Christmas I would always ask what he got for Christmas. Finally, mom told me why, son he is a Jehovah's Witness!

May your family be blessed and may Christmas 2015 be the best ever! Reminder of the story which will be read to my kids in a few hours, and I have read/heard this story for 47 years straight! http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Luke-Chapter-2/ 1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

We discovered yesterday that my wife's van A/C is out. This sucks, late December, and the temperature is in the mid 70s. Had to drive the truck to church tonight.

TGODavid, Wow is all that I can say. I wished I had known him both on TGO and in life. Sincerely thank you for sharing his story. Its amazing how people who have gone on still touch people today.

Here in Monroe county, my NOAA radio went off twice once @ 11:30pm for tornado watch, and the other at 3am for a severe thunder storm warning. We heard the wind very loudly, and the power went off for about 5 minutes, that's about it. Waiting on the light of day to see if any trees are down. Feel for the families that lost loved ones in the South. Very sad for Christmas.

I didn't join until 2012, can you share some about Marswolf, and I assume he passed on?

I have been a member here for soon to be 4 years. What drew me here, and kept me here is how well this site is ran. Over time, I have witnessed the close monitoring of unacceptable negativism, and the purging of these negative people. I do enjoy and partake in time to time some opposites of opinions. I would imagine if one is at one end of argument, it can be viewed as negative. Some level of negatives are acceptable, or it would make for French fries without salt.

Yea, I live on the fringe of the SE area of TN.

Bump for this older thread. It is a lot of fun for the kids! I think its officially Christmas somewhere on Earth (I think its Auckland, far east of Australia) at 5am EST here in East Tennessee on December 24th, or 4am for you middle and west Tennesseans. So you can start tracking then.
